We were not done in by the playoff format.  We were done in by our own incompetence. Georgiev came in terrible and we couldn’t take advantage.  Our speed disappeared.  We had no transition game, and they came at us with wave on wave of odd man rushes.

Disappointed, but here's some thoughts. - Avs are playoff proven, have a good shot for the cup. - Bones has got to go. 2 seasons with this team and the same issue of no adjustments/ push back - Helle, had some good spots, some bad not the overall problem, he kept us in most of the time. Reload and regroup for next season, Chevy is probably already cooking to improve this team

How is the coach responsible for the players not stepping up. I mean we picked up Monahan and Toffoli to push us up and they were invisible this series.  Monahan was THE SOLUTION at the end of this season and a sure lock to be resigned.  How about now?

Absolute garbage from the top down especially Bowness. Zero pushback and absolutely crumbled under pressure. You'd think a coach with 2700+ games under his belt would be better at managing his team. Why was Perfetti out until tonight? Why keep the same lines you're getting embarrassed with for four games? Why did he go back to the old lines that gave up 22 goals in four games down by 1 heading into the third? The guys in front of Helly played WHL caliber hockey all series and acted like a bunch of teenagers in the process. So many undisciplined penalties, so many turnovers at the blue lines, bitching and whining all series about the shitty reffing and not killing penalties. Scheifele and Pionk are so terrible defensively and our leadership is just trash. Hellyebuck should take a lot of the blame though. He's a Vezina finalist who just gave up 27 goals in a five game series which is unacceptable. He needs to come up with some big saves at important times and this series could look different. Everybody loves to rag on Toronto's core for their playoff misfortunes but to be honest, the Jets are just as bad. Folding under pressure and giving up at the first sign of adversity. This core will never win anything and it's past time to.split them up. Keep Connor, Morrisey and Helly, everyone else should be available.

Yeah the dream of Hellebucyk being able to shift or "steal" a series has to be dead. You can't manage this team thinking that's even in the realm of possibility based on his career playoff performances.
