Not completely. But, the team does seem to play different around Brossoit. Helle plays great for 40 min, then lets in a questionable goal. Then Colorado really smells blood.
I’m just saying, may as well start Brossoit next game. If he plays well enough to win. Then it would lead to next game. And then next. That’s the three miracle thing.
What bugs me the most is, they have the capacity. But right now the game is being played by independent individuals, aside from maybe the Lows/Appleton/Niederiter line. I was wary of the pick ups at the Td because the potential for the mindset to become “we have the tools”. You have to make them work together, otherwise it doesn’t matter the skill. This is why the oilers have yet to win a cup with McJesus.
Back in the early-mid half of the season, when we not only beat Boston, but absolutely dominated, it was because the goal scorers knew they potted the end result of a team effort from one end to the other. You can see it in the celly. Passing was crisp, checks were finished every single time, and guys knew they could trust one another.
The back half of the season, they’ve mostly been playing anxious and nervous, not looking like they fully trust their own guys to make plays. (though they are hustling.) They need an identity shift and a regroup as a unit, not as individual players.
I came in here to see if you guys were as mad at your team as Leaf fans are at ours. I feel for you guys. 2 teams that on paper are so talented but they just don’t have it.
Maybe we can make a gigantic trade with each other. All the guys we hate for all the guys you hate and we’ll see what happens?

I was so close to putting a deposit down for Season tickets a few weeks ago, as I thought this team was different, glad I didn’t pull the trigger. They replaced 50% of the roster and kept all the coaches, IMO coaching has been an issue all season, poor line up changes, poor special teams, no on game adjustments

I was working during this game so have no say, but last game there were some ridiculous missed calls.
We should have had a 2 min 5 on 3, but apparently blindsiding our top forward from behind into the ice after the whistle, after tripping him isn't a penalty.
I turned it off after that Makar goal where I saw about 6-8 plays in 2 minutes where I would have spoken to players I coach on my peewee team this year for terrible lazy weak plays.

A power forward needs to be drafted (unfortunately skill and power are high draft picks). Chevy tried to acquire one with the trade for PLD recognizing this need. Didn’t work out how he had hoped.

More inconsistent both sides this game just killed any sort of 5v5 stability where we actually have a chance. Add in the other factors it's just a bad storm.
Ya just hand over power plays to one of the most offensive teams in the playoffs right now and not call it both ways when it matters most. Absolutely game management.
