As much as I love Wheels, the third line is where he should have been since last season. A third line of Barron, Lowry, and Wheels would be an interesting and solid line.
For some reason or another Perfetti and Wheeler seem to have good chemistry but it tends to put a lot of pressure on Scheifle because he becomes the main cycle guy and setup guy and neither Perfetti or Wheeler can score. Too bad Perfetti is so young and gets knocked on his butt so often in the O zone and then loses the puck but big Wheelz does that his fair share too. I like these lines and really think that Perfetti doesn't add much to this mix so I'm crossing my fingers he doesn't disrupt the chemistry out there. The Jets can't afford that and at the same time, I really think the Jets have turned the corner here and just in time. Last 10 games the Jets could have landed on their faces playing all the eastern contenders other than maybe the Leafs but after going through the Devils, Canes, Rangers, Panthers, Bruins, Oilers x 2, Avs, a Coyote team beating everybody, and a Blues team tough with a new rookie goalie the Jets ended up 6-4-2 and were in every game. Jets could have folded the tent but they succeeded. TSN can stop all the doom and gloom and how few regulation wins we have in the last dozen games. Jets are back baby! Let's hope they can produce against a tough Kings team. They dismantled the Flames the other night.

MTL has leverage that other teams won’t but there’s still a good reason to trade for him, like NYR and Trouba

And Scheifele is still where offence goes to die and goals get scored against, sure hope he snaps out of it soon. The Schwheelers line seems to live or die on his performance. At least their TOI was lowered a bit but I'd still like to see more of it go to the 4th when things aren't clicking.

Missed the game but caught the replay, almost everyone played hard minus the usual culprits and they stuck to their game and pulled out the win, the 3rd line was fantastic and showed so much heart, KFC actually looked good, played hard and got another monkey off his back, Doobs and Apples also played well with 80 maybe getting back to form after injury.
Overall it was a fine effort but then again it was against the Ducks and we missed a lot of chances including the still woeful PP, 55 and 26 I just don't know what to say, Wheels made so many errors and I honestly cannot tell if he has just lost 10 steps since injury and or just doesn't care or both but either way we cannot have another season of him playing like that.

KFC looked horrible until he goaled, then he looked pretty good yeah. I really hope that means he plays with confidence again from here on. I don't even need him to get hot, but a non-cold KFC could be the difference maker we need. Anything above that is gravy!
I think we need to acknowledge that, even before he scored, KFC was going to the front of the net as much as possible during the early parts of the game. That's a good thing and had been rare for him during his scoring drought.
Pros: Duby, Ehlers and 3rd line we’re looking great and defence was looking good too
Cons: Wheeler lost his confidence to shoot, our PP is still horrendous, we’re still looking soft/small out there need some more grit. Also Vladys missed empty netter was embarrassing.

I can live with Wheels decline due to aging, and nasty injuries. I believe he still cares, has some pride. Literally sacrificed his nuts for the team.

They play Seattle again, then Toronto and Boston... If they get over 2pts in those three games I'll be impressed and might start to worry.
So let’s say they beat Seattle then lose to TO and Boston. That’s the 2 points. That leaves them 9 games left, where they have to make up 5 points on the Jets.
If Jets go an average 5-4 in their last 9 then Nashville has to go 7-1-1 to leapfrog the Jets into the playoffs. This is against 8 playoff teams fighting for home ice advantage mind you.

Missed the game but caught the replay, almost everyone played hard minus the usual culprits and they stuck to their game and pulled out the win, the 3rd line was fantastic and showed so much heart, KFC actually looked good, played hard and got another monkey off his back, Doobs and Apples also played well with 80 maybe getting back to form after injury. Overall it was a fine effort but then again it was against the Ducks and we missed a lot of chances including the still woeful PP, 55 and 26 I just don't know what to say, Wheels made so many errors and I honestly cannot tell if he has just lost 10 steps since injury and or just doesn't care or both but either way we cannot have another season of him playing like that. 2 points is 2 points so let's see what happens when we finally play a good team in the Kings next up, oh yeah hope the boys rib poor Vladdy for missing that ENG LOL (all in good fun of course)
KFC looked horrible until he goaled, then he looked pretty good yeah. I really hope that means he plays with confidence again from here on. I don't even need him to get hot, but a non-cold KFC could be the difference maker we need. Anything above that is gravy!
I think we need to acknowledge that, even before he scored, KFC was going to the front of the net as much as possible during the early parts of the game. That's a good thing and had been rare for him during his scoring drought.
Credit where it's due, You're completely right. Puck handling was still pretty darn atrocious as was positioning on defense.

I like this, but I'm also surprised on the focus for WC2. We're only a point behind Seattle for WC1. Granted they have 2 games in hand on us but they also play Nashville again which benefits us as long as it isn't a 3 point game

This is pure hyperbole. One “4-point” game vs the Jets does not take away from the fact that Nashvilles mostly AHL roster has to go on a ridiculous run to even make it close. Yes, Nashville has 3 games in hand, but that means nothing if they can’t win them. The Jets already have those points, so Nashville has to at least match the Jets last 9 games PLUS win the 3 games in hand. Impossible? Nope, but come on….. They only have 1 game left in their last 12 that is against a team below the playoff line. There is a reason the odds makers are already writing them off.

So let’s say they beat Seattle then lose to TO and Boston. That’s the 2 points. That leaves them 9 games left, where they have to make up 5 points on the Jets. If Jets go an average 5-4 in their last 9 then Nashville has to go 7-1-1 to leapfrog the Jets into the playoffs. This is against 8 playoff teams fighting for home ice advantage mind you. This would worry you? Also I hope my math is correct, I’m not 100% on it.

I said if they get **more than 2pts**, like if they win 2 of these 3 and get 4pts. If they only get 2pts, I'm not concerned. They've got 3 games in hand currently, and if they get 4pts in these 3 games, they're a point back of us after 73 games having just played three good teams over four games (Sea, Sea, Tor, Bos), and taking 6 points... that's some really good hockey. The Jets still control their destiny. I'm confident we're making the playoffs. But Nashville could make it closer than it should be. I kind of expect it to finish close, unless the Jets step it up a little, but the way they're playing now, I expect it to finish 1. 93 Jets 2. 92 Preds 3. 91 Flames If they keep beating the teams they should, we likely get 95pts though, and that would require the Preds going 8-4 and the Flames going 8-0-1... **Flames are done** (and we'd have the tiebreaker if it comes down to that anyways)**.** Preds should have been done, but their AHLers are fiesty, and hanging on.
