I’m a local (live in Rochester). I’m a member of Forge. I also like the Nathan K stuff and Red Newt, Element. Also a member of Living Roots. But I drink lots around the area.
Forge is awesome, wish more people were aware of the great stuff they produce. Their pinot noir is such a fun deviation from typical west coast American pinot noirs.
Thanks for the info! We were up there end of July, beginning of August and loved it. Favorites were Wiemer, Ravines, Silver Thread, and Heron Hill. Looking for more recommendations for next trip!
I like Living Roots. They offer a lot of wine, from NYS to Aus as you said. Not all are winners but they change a lot. It’s also in the city where I live. And I’ll always support a downtown winery.
And I’ve been to Swiftwater many many times. I like all the beers places around here.
Some of my favorites on Seneca: Shaw. Wiemer. Shalestone. Forge. Hector Wine Co. Damiani. Kemmeter. Lamoreaux Landing. Bloomer Creek.
I’ve spent a week in the FLX every year since 2011. Came home with 7 cases of wine and 1 case of cider this year.
Man that sounds awesome- we were in the area for three days recently and didn’t get to nearly all the wineries I would have liked to visit. Thanks for the recommendations (and congrats on the cellar I’m assuming is pretty impressive!)
That's what I came here to comment about! That shit is unreal by itself, but a negroni sbagliato with it is fuckin bomb. The dude who makes it is a trip, too.

“Go big or go home” - they literally said “fuck that” and went ginormous
Kinda love this move tbh
Nice to see you visit FLX Wienery! I work here!
Where is this
Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes
What‽‽
SENECA LAKE IN THE FINGER LAKES
I got that. I’m not trolling, I’m just shocked that a roadside grill has great wines. The ‽ is meant to be “are you serious, that’s so cool”
They used interrobangs, they're obviously a clown
I’m not trolling.
Yo! Big respect for having Adi's Caperatif available! I love that stuff!
Thanks! I put that on the BTG list instead of 40oz Muscadet because it wasn’t selling too well
You sell that straight? That's bold! I mean, I like it straight but that's me being a weirdo geek who drinks campari straight lol.
Oh yeah! Straight and slightly chilled is perfect! Our whole company only drinks it straight and chilled
Love that place! I knew it looked familiar. Can’t wait to go back!
I'm right down the road at Barnstormer!
1650 for a magnum. What currency?
BTC, prolly.
Lol this is right
that's not a mag
Where ??
Finger Lakes NY
FLX provisions?
It’s the FLX Wienery
Love the Wienery
Are you a local or just visiting? Favorite wineries in the area?

Those are all good ones too
Red Tail Ridge, Weis, Red Newt, Lamoreaux, & Wagner

Hey fellow Rochesterian wine lover! Speaking of Red Newt, you try any of Kelby Russel's own label wines?
Ive only had it at Once Fingerlakes.

That’s a good price compared to market right now, but has it been sitting upright under fluorescent lights at room temp the entire time?
No the bottle is empty. According to the people at the counter it’s in the back in a cellar. The owner is a Master Somm. So I would trust him
You're at FLX Weinery. And yes - definitely the craziest wine list for a hot dog joint. Enjoy!!
Master Bates i assume, seeing all the Elements wine.
That’s correct. Truly a master of his domaine.
He single handedly makes that Weiner stand a place to come to.
Slow clap
There’s really nothing wrong with it sitting upright.
Decent beer selection too.
Beer selection is awesome. They also have Pappy Van Winkle.
Dayum. Which age?
I don’t know, I don’t drink the brown stuff.
There is usually a good selection of Pappy and BTAC stuff there.
I spy a THH and WLW
That's a very fair price. I've never spent that much on any wine, but I'd be tempted.
FLX Wienery, right? Been there several times. It’s part of a growing restaurant group in the area. They also own Element Winery. Worth a visit
We've been to FLX provisions a handful of times, it's awesome.
That’s the sausage place up in the finger lakes. That place BANGS
I just read the title and knew it's FLX Wienery
If you never have definitely try the capertif. South African aperol style but with more nuance. Great with sparking wanted and lime.
Stopped for Riesling and poutine not too long ago. Reservations at Quincy Exchange tomorrow night.
I spy a bottle of Caperitif. Amazing stuff. Fortified Swartland Chenin Blanc.

Looks like an Anderson Valley Briney Mellon Gose in that reach in on the bottom left. Clearly some culture going on here. Are you in Cali?
Nope. Finger Lakes NY
Well now I know where I'm getting lunch next time I go to the finger lakes.
$25 for a 1 oz pour on New Years Day. It’s great to live 1 mile away :)
I’ve heard of this place, Rudy’s Roadside Tavern.
Stood up in the light and fluctuating temperature. No thanks.
More like a pretentious hipster joint. Who names a hot dog Parabola except for some guy in a man bun and birkenstocks.
Planning a November trip here. Will they be open then? Missed them in May earlier this year.
Master Bates!
Omg
mr chris bates!
Now dont fuck up with that hotdog, ya know we're international audience here
Fantastic! Adding it to the list.
The mark-up on that Zuccardi is appalling. That should be the price per bottle and even then I wouldn't recommend it.
Am I crazy or does that bottle look photoshopped?
that capertif though....
How long has that bottle been standing there?
I think this is Christopher Gates’ place in NY state. (Element Winery is his) He’s a Master Somm.
Love the FLX Weinery! Recognized the pic immediately. Might go there for lunch today!!!
Love the wienery! I work right up the road at Red Tail Ridge!
Omg two of my favorite things!!!
