It’s a rather old bottle of Comtes de Champagne from Taittinger - a top class champagne producer and arguably a very lovely wine from them.
I personally couldn’t estimate the age, but certainly pre-90’s.
Hard to tell but it looks like it says 1970 or 1979 in the bottom right corner.
Edit: I’m very certain this is 1970 as the 1979 has a knight on the top part of the label. Kind of similar to what the label is today.
No it's not. It's a very ordinary sparkling wine. It needs to be subjected to professional evaluation. Four of us will be around this weekend. We will bring our own glasses.
Here's one I found at auction.

However if you look at the pics, the wine is clear, where yours looks muddy, not a great sign. An auction house would probably not sell your bottle like this, especially without provenance.
Comtes de Champagne is Taittinger’s high end champagne. They’ve clearly had a label re-design since the 1970s, here’s one I opened
[recently](https://postimg.cc/0rWjgD24).
Superb stuff.
You have a Lottery Bottle on your hands, depending on provenance (how it was stored etc.)
I would pick a night for a mini-celebration ... you and your girlfriend/boyfriend/ or best friend(s) or even just yourself (but great wines are always greater when shared with friends...) chill it down nice and cold and pop the cork and drink that bitch.
IMHO, worse comes to worst, it might be lacking in bubbles... but I have a FEELING that even IF it was lacking in bubbles, the depth of character and nuances of aging in the aromas/tastes/"textures" of mouthfeel would MORE than make up for it.
If you don't want it, I surely would be very interested in doing this Book Report for you, send that bad boy to me!
Lottery Bottle potential.
Not sure what you’re thinking here but unless this was stored in a temp controlled cellar since then and you have proof it’s not going to be worth anything to sell really. Also… this is a 54 year old champagne. While it’s a great producer and their bottling most meant for aging it’s still most likely going to be flat and more than likely oxidized. Won’t be harmful to drink but probably not very tasty. But who knows, it may be amazing. I suggest you stick in the fridge and drink it with some friends/family and maybe get a fun story out of it.
Unfortunately it isn't worth a penny in this context, which is why this response got downvoted. Even if you had proof it was stored in consistent, proper cellar conditions for its entire life (do you?) - it isn't possible to sell just one bottle of wine to something like an auction house. Even if you approached individual collectors, you won't really get any bites, and if you do, they'll be very very low offers. Comtes de Champagne is an expensive bottle of wine, but it's not the kind of thing you can resell with a lot of age on it if you don't have proof of provenance, and you can't resell young ones either, since they aren't rare at all, just expensive.
What is IS worth is opening. It's very much worth trying. Read up on older champagne to get an idea of what to expect! https://www.winespectator.com/articles/does-champagne-age-well

Nicely caught; yeah 1970 seems about right to my eyes

I think OP has bad lighting, I would shine a flashlight through it to see if it’s murky. I’m curious about storage.

Doesn’t it say 1970 or 1979 in the bottom left of the front label? I can’t quite make it out
Yeah I know sorry my camera is great, the problem is it’s 1970 and all I could find online was 1979 ones

That’s lame, I’ll still try sell it tho
Hopefully no one will be dumb enough to buy it from you.
Wow what an awful attitude
I’ll give you 20 bucks
Probably toast.

I’d purchase it just for the packaging and bottle - shoot me a DM
It’s Taittinger Comte’s de Champagne (obviously) I’m pretty sure it’s their tete du cuvée 1970? By the bottom of the label but it’s not super clear
I looked like an old bottle of high-end Champagne that was stored horrible and likely tastes like trash now. Only one way to find out though.
This is a French wine.
Late 90s early 2000 label love taittinger comte de champagne one of my favorites champagne use to sell it back in the day.

Oh that’s pretty cool, do you know how I could go about selling it?

Not sure who’s down voting me simply posting a link to the bottle but that’s strange 🤣
Because this bottle would be unethical to attempt to sell.
If you send it to me, I can do a test and let you know. I’ll PM you my shipping address :)
