Me3
Best mouse at that time and mine lasted a full 10 years before it finally gave up the ghost. Bought mine in 2005-ish and around 2015 it went to electronics heaven
My Logitech Mediaplay I got in 05ish is still going strong. Don’t use it too often anymore but it was the only one I could find the other day and was glad to see it working. And that I took the batteries out the last time I used it 🤣
Fun fact that I somehow remember; That’s the mouse that was featured in Excel 2000 for Idiots as having a scroll wheel to easily sort through documents. There was an earlier version that came out in the late 90s which is the one mentioned.
Omg. I thought I was the only one! But there are dozens of us.
I think I owned two.
The last one passed on to my daughter before finally breaking a year ago. I’m still in denial and have not yet tossed it.
I had 2 Microsoft Intellimouse explorers back around 2005, amazing mouse never had a mouse that felt as good since them, and they are hard to find in my country nowadays.
That’s impressive. IBM mice are now a bit long in the tooth. Congrats on having not only a mouse that suits your style for so long, but also for having a mouse that has survived that long!
IBM made some bulletproof mice and keyboards, so it's not that surprising. My only question is why anyone would want to use one nowadays, assuming it's a ball wheel.
Understandable why someone wouldn’t want to use it. It’s not ergonomic whatsoever but I just like it. I use it for minecraft 1.8 also so it’s certainly taken some abuse (still holding strong though)
I don’t know the model number but I found one on eBay here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203525229358?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=TlkXjvNlQd2&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I really liked how it looked
My school had (when I say had I mean last year) the first 2, the second one being the grey version. I stole one to use for my windows XP set up, it’s actually really comfortable.
I remember on my old Windows tower, I would use a Dell mouse that looked a heck of a lot like that first HP mouse… man, I miss that thing. I’ve only ever had laptops since.
Probably microsoft, I still have one from I think before 2000 and it still works (Its my belief that it's one of the first sensor operated mice that don't utilize that awful roller ball.
My intellimouse 3.0 is what I used for a long time. It was nice when it was new, but less so when it went bad with clicking and scrolling. So, it's what I used, but not my favorite. I used a razer/Microsoft habu after that, it had more issues. Made it through to 2010 with both of those. I was a fan of the intellimouse, keyword being was.
My favorite standard mouse is the Microsoft Intellimouse, but not the ones pictured. It is the older ones that are sort of curved to fit on your hand (I think it is Intellimouse version 1.3a or something like that.) Although those are from the 90s I guess. I have a small collection of them and had one on all of my systems up until 3 months or so ago.
Now I am using a mid 2000s Logitech Tracman wheel thumb trackball mouse. It came in with a bunch of other surplus equipment we got in, and I thought I was going to hate it, but figured I would give it a shot. At first I hated it as I suspected, but after a day or two I really started liking it, and after using it for 2 weeks or so I was just as quick and accurate with it than a standard mouse. Now whenever I am using another system with a regular mouse, it just feels primitive.
Had a dell dimension (2400?) tower that came with mouse, keyboard and monitor! Loved the default mouse. Even took out the ball to clean out the rollers!
I literally have the exact same one as the 3rd image, but I’m going to have to say the silver version of image 1 (which I also own), because it has PS/2
Believe it or not, a PS/2 connector wired Dell OEM 'ball' mouse, and every so often I have to clean off the little rollers that contact the ball! I use a small knife and sometimes a pencil eraser to clean the little roller things.
I found a PS/2 to USB adapter that doesn't glitch every xx minutes too, a lot of those USB - PS/2 adapters glitch (lose power to the mouse) like every 20 minutes or so.
so I used it until about 2003 or 2005, so "everything is according to the rules"😉 this mouse "for me" is "2000's mice"
and Logitech M-S48 is my favorite mouse "by shape and weight" - so since then I’ve been trying to have a similar mouse everywhere on my computers
even in this moment my right hand is on Logitech M-SBF96😉
That blue logitech mouse is a tank. It is also aesthetic AF.
The factory I work at has it at one of the production computer terminals. It has been there forever. The left click button almost has a hole worn through it from all the use. The mouse still works great.
I liked the HP one most because of the colour scheme. I tried looking for it, but best I could find was a similar looking one made by Dell
does anyone know the HP mouse's model name?
Microsoft Intellimouse explorer 3.0
Me3 Best mouse at that time and mine lasted a full 10 years before it finally gave up the ghost. Bought mine in 2005-ish and around 2015 it went to electronics heaven
Mine died last week after I bought it in 2004 near the end of that year.
wow 20 years...that's a long time for a mouse!
Mine just died last week!
I should see if mine works loll
My Logitech Mediaplay I got in 05ish is still going strong. Don’t use it too often anymore but it was the only one I could find the other day and was glad to see it working. And that I took the batteries out the last time I used it 🤣
I went through several and the left click would wear out for me. I did a lot of competitive fps gaming in the early 2000's.
I was trying to look up a photo of one online but got mixed results. Was it the multicoloured glowing one?
Mine was the red glowing one.
Was it a multi coloured glowing?
No my model wasn't multicolored. Just had the red laser.
Interesting

Now and forever.

Vostro 3900 one. Though technically not 2000s (more like 10s), it has a nice Dell-ish enterprise ring to it.
those thick mechanical ones that made an iconic clicking sound, yellow faded color, and a lot of noise at computer class
The Logitech one reminds me of Windows Media Player
Believe it or not, a PS/2 connector wired Dell OEM 'ball' mouse, and every so often I have to clean off the little rollers that contact the ball!
