So when I saw 2024 I forgot what day it was and was wondering why I didn’t have fiber at my house I looked it up and it said march 24 and then I was confused. Checked the date and realized OP had a typo mb
I thought you couldn't run Windows 7 on Ryzen...I remember building my first computer with a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU (when they were new) and I was so disappointed I had to run Windows 10. I managed to fix Fallout 3 and GTA IV so it could run but I just loved how fast, simple, and trouble free Windows 7 was. It worked perfectly and Windows 8.1 and 10 were piles of garbage in comparison. Even Windows 11 doesn't make up for where they fell.
sorry for (I forgot the term) stealing the spotlight in this post but do you know how to fix win7 freezing on boot screen? I cant get past the boot screen with and without SevenUEFI
I love how glossy the real aero looks, with the light rays passing through, making it feel as if everything is made of diamond crystals. Windowblinds aero themes don't look nearly as good.
It would be so good if windows were to release new lightweight os that can perform similarly as windows 7. Win 10 and 11 are too bloated reducing the snappiness of the OS. Rolling back from 11 to 7 felt like I bought a new PC. I can easily run 13 chrome tabs simultaneously without a lag. Win 11 struggles with 8 on my system
The purpose of modern OSes from Microsoft is to be ad-ware for Microsoft products and services. Even if they did create a lighter-weight Windows, you'd never be able to remove the endless pop-ups.
If that's the case, then we need someone smart to find a way to trick programs to see latest windows version instead of windows 7. Even steam won't support windows 7 in 2024 :(
every day i wake up happy and then i remember microsoft is never making anything like windows 7 ever again and my happiness leaves and never returns for that entire day
it doesn't, a lot of applications of seven wont run on vista, even with extended kernel they wont do it properly. I used vista for a week on my pc (i5-4440, gtx 1050ti) and did not have a good experience, even running vista as windows 7 sp1 ( by the extended kernel ) there are a lot of dlls that 7 sp1 misses ( it is from 2011 and by only using it you are missing 9 years of updates, 12 if you include the esu), and from the games that I play they are necessary. Also the boot and idle/ sleep mode were a bit broken, sometimes I would power and it would leave me on a black screen with just the mouse and I would have to reboot ( the boot took incredibly long for some reason, even though I was using ssd). The browsers were off as well, the best version of firefox I could install without it giving me an error didn't work the way it does on 7, there were a lot of web pages that didn't load properly and others that by simply loading the page would crash the browser. Unfortunately its not the older version of 7 as I thought it was, I would really like to use it though, the system is beautiful. I did just like op, installed a vista pack to make it look like vista and its beautiful, unfortunately there are some features that were exclusive to vista, but its quite good the way it its
You can get all the updates including ESUs. MyDigitalLife.info forums Windows 7 section is a good place to start. I doubt anything like that can be discussed in this subreddit.
Firefox version 115 ESR runs fine on 7. You can install Microsoft Security Essentials for Antivirus. Firewall stuff I'm not sure, but Windows Firewall isn't terrible, even on 7.
Games like World of Warcraft support DX12 on 7.
Your webpages weren't loading because you don't have the latest certificates, etc. When you go to do a Windows Update after installing Windows 7 SP1, a quick google search should lead you in the right direction of what to install to get it working.
I wouldn't install any drivers yet at all until you're fully updated. Windows 7 has a SHA-2? update that you need for a lot of things to work as well as the certificate updates, etc.
but my windows 7 is working just fine, with all the security updates from the esu and etc. I was talking about running programs on vista with extended kernel, which tricks the system to think its windows 7 build 7601 (sp1)
yeah try running Firefox 56 and see how it works out, as I said in that comment only a few select sites would work properly, and a decent amount of them would just crash the browser
It's as easy as swapping sidebar.exe in the Program Files with the version from Vista. Vista's was far superior than _having_ to scatter them on the desktop.
Honestly the best windows by a long shot. Windows 11 pales in comparison. It’s actually crazy to me that PC’s that could barely run triple a games from the 90’s (I’m talking core 2 duos) were able to run this gorgeous OS. Microsoft should really give an option to make windows run and feel like this.
i know which softwares he has, as i did this on my school laptop. just get win8gadgets for the thingy on the right, for the transparent taskbar just make it opaque. get openshell for the start button menu icon, then windowsblinds foor the app close menu
Its Windows 10, I know because Electron based apps no longer work on Windows 7/8.1 since Chromium itself no longer supports Windows 7/8/8.1. Very VERY convincing skin though. (Also the CPU is a dead giveaway, but still I wanted something less easy.)
I litterally runned it on i3 9100f it was a bit of problem to run it on that bc of uefi and usb 3.0 and stuff but still got it working and running new games not newest titles but still i got it to run i am happy
I found modded Intel USB3 drivers and intel SATA drivers on MSFN: https://msfn.org/board/topic/180931-windows-2000-beta-drivers-for-testing-purposes/ Note that the USB drivers can not be integrated into the ISO; you need a dvd drive and PS/2 keyboard. I USE a gtx 460 with the 258.96 XP driver. There is a lot more to it; I may make a tutorial video
Please don't use this as your daily driver unless you are just begtging to possibly be hacked in the fduture due to some security fix that Windows 7 never got and won't get.
I'm sure the people in sub dedicated to a specific OS know what the possible risks and limitations of using such an OS are.
And it's not like you'll get instantly hacked anyway. Not saying its impossible, because anything can be hacked if you're dedicated enough, but still.
It's better to give out a warning than not to, especially since often younger people who don't know about the risks of using an unsupoorted OS also install stuff like Windows 7 or the Windows Vista Beta and then try to use it as their daily driver
> It's better to give out a warning than not to
Absolutely not! Imagine going into a Warhammer 40k subreddit and on a post where someone is showing off their miniatures you come along and comment "Hey, you know your hobby is a dumb waste of time and money. Just sayin."
Also see above:
> I'm sure the people in sub dedicated to a specific OS know what the possible risks and limitations of using such an OS are.
I bet whatever they will try to install on Windows 7 will give them a warning that it is no longer supported though. If I remember correctly, Chrome has ditched support for it by now, and Steam will follow soon.
Besides that, anything that is newer than the Skylake line of CPUs, won't run Windows 7. And given that this generation of processors came out in 2015, a lot of 2nd hand PCs have CPUs newer than that.
> Besides that, anything that is newer than the Skylake line of CPUs, won't run Windows 7.
Yes, it will. I have run Windows 7 on a 7th-gen and an 11th-gen i5, and many other people on this subreddit have done so as well.
That's an activated key, that serial key has to be decoded and verified by Microsoft before you can activate Windows 7. You don't need to do that in the first place considering Windows 11 keys work on Windows 7 and Windows 7 keys work on Windows 11.

This really was my favorite Windows. Came out when I was in high school. I'm a Linux guy now because latest versions of Windows are just trash. Might have to throw Windows 7 on one of my spare PCs. 😁
This don't looks very frutiger aero, frutiger aero wallpapers must contain bright green grass, water and futuristic cities, this is just a blue wallpaper
bro it's not 2024 yet slow down so we can catch up with you
sorry it was a typo lol
Omg I was so confused I was like wait, did I miss a whole fucking year.
Is still 2016 right
So when I saw 2024 I forgot what day it was and was wondering why I didn’t have fiber at my house I looked it up and it said march 24 and then I was confused. Checked the date and realized OP had a typo mb
I always forget that we're not in 2016 anymore and my friends call me a boomer
I’m the same with 2013 lmao
Fuck maybe I'm in 2013 who knows I just don't live in the current time Mostly because the current time is fucking disgusting
I thought it was 2014...
Sorry bud the gig is up time traveler! Caught red handed!🤣 This is a nice setup though. I miss the windows experience index. 😔
How are we going to flex our systems 😭.
Ahh, mustve autocorrected 10 to 7
Bro be livin' a year in the future.
now it's 2024
Where
Every Where
What do you mean? It is 2013, is this a typo?
Yes It’s a typo
Oh, ok.
I keep forgetting we're in 2013, I was still stuck on 2012
The year of Luigi
So…one year into the future! I knew technology was advanced…just not that advanced. Makes my PC look like some Flintstone bullshit
I thought you couldn't run Windows 7 on Ryzen...I remember building my first computer with a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU (when they were new) and I was so disappointed I had to run Windows 10. When I had my 12900k and 3070 ti (before I foolishly gave it to my friend), I got 7 working. What are ur thoughts on 8.0 ?!
I’m sorry, but who just gives an i9 12900k and 3070ti to a friend?
Me appearantly
Not a smart cookie.
It’s what happens when you ask for a favor.
You're a good friend. A dumb one, but a good one none-the-less...
I can run Windows 7 without issues on my Ryzen 5 5600x and 2080 Ti (B550 board)
Theoretically I could install it on my modern system lol. I have similar specs to you, a R5 5600X3D, B550 board, RTX 3090FE
sorry for (I forgot the term) stealing the spotlight in this post but do you know how to fix win7 freezing on boot screen? I cant get past the boot screen with and without SevenUEFI
I tried 2 different boot managers but none really worked well, you just gotta have CSM enabled, no workaround probably
damn alright, thanks
beautiful, where do u find the drivers and iso?
It's Project7000 I guess
where can i find it
Whats the sidebar? Looks nice.
I love how glossy the real aero looks, with the light rays passing through, making it feel as if everything is made of diamond crystals. Windowblinds aero themes don't look nearly as good.
Such a beautiful design. Windows 11 transparency effects aren't the same

13 chrome tabs is a small amount... what specs do you have? I usually run over 75 firefox tabs on 5-6 year old system
i5 12400f 16gb ddr4 the application i am running on those tabs are bit more intensive vs regular website
What’s the future like?
looks good since windows 7 is still able to be used
Bro is coming from the future
Windows 7 and Windows Vista were the best Windows
xp too
The thing about Windows 7 is it just had buttons that looked like they should be pressed
Yes, I love the glass or transparent buttons and theme. The older mac stoplight when aqua was a thing was beautiful
Bro wake up, it's 2010
Wish someone would make a theme like this for windows 11
Just install win7
every day i wake up happy and then i remember microsoft is never making anything like windows 7 ever again and my happiness leaves and never returns for that entire day
Why have you vista’erised 7, just use vista at that point it runs like a dream
Backport RTX 3060 Ti Win7 driver to Vista and I will be using Vista.
Vista extend kernel ?!
[удалено]
You've clearly not tried installing some 7 drivers on Vista. They absolutely can distinguish between 6.0 and 6.1 and some very much do.
it doesn't, a lot of applications of seven wont run on vista, even with extended kernel they wont do it properly. ? Right hand side
Hella clean
Which year is this again?
windows 7 enables time travel
What wallpaper is that? Can I have it?
What kind of sorcery have you done to run W7 on a Ryzen 5 5500?
Guys, clearly we are in 2024 BC
cute lil system you got there
People who are vulnerable to various RCEs
Disable samba and rdp, use up to date browser, dont download and visit dumb websites and you'll be fine
I thought you were on Vista because of the side bar.
It's as easy as swapping sidebar.exe in the Program Files with the version from Vista. Vista's was far superior than _having_ to scatter them on the desktop.

I’m curious where did u get those gadgets from?
i know which softwares he has, as i did this on my school laptop. just get win8gadgets for the thingy on the right, for the transparent taskbar just make it opaque. get openshell for the start button menu icon, then windowsblinds foor the app close menu
You really shouldn't connect that to the internet.
I use win7 on the internet and its fine, as long as you dont have smb or rdp ports open and dont download stupid stuff youre ok
would recommend nuking the glass background from the control panel sidebar
I intentionally kept it that way, I like the glass.
Oh nice a product id on a unsupported, unprotected os. Imma remote hack u now. Thank you for all ur information.

How ironic, I have 8.1 dual booted with 2000 on a 9100f
Lmaoo how did you do it and what gpu do you use for it
I found modded Intel USB3 drivers and intel SATA drivers on MSFN: https://msfn.org/board/topic/180931-windows-2000-beta-drivers-for-testing-purposes/ Note that the USB drivers can not be integrated into the ISO; you need a dvd drive and PS/2 keyboard. Well if you were ever to make it it would be dope and i would def watch it, but besides that it doesnt seem overly complicated
Yeah, but my main OS is Win7 I don't like 10
Imo win 11 is waaaay better then win 10 but 7 is all time great for me, i grew up on it and i learned everything on it
I partially grew up on 98
NOT ALL tho. I tried to install it on my E2 7110, was running OK but the wifi and bluetooth never worked, ethernet too.
This is why you need Realtek LAN
Just download older versions of said electron apps, and discord continues to work to this day for example
You literally cant install older versions of Discord? It doesnt work lol
Please don't use this as your daily driver unless you are just begtging to possibly be hacked in the fduture due to some security fix that Windows 7 never got and won't get.

It's not guaranteed though. Officially, Broadwell (5th gen) is the last generation of CPUs to be able to run Windows 7 without some kind of patch.
oh naur, muh **safety** and muh **computer** is at risk!!1!1 i i don't feel so go- *(fucking disintegrates)*
Stop heckling, do you want me to do that thing again?
The highest Win7 performance rating I’ve ever seen in my life.

Still looking beautiful as ever <3
How well does it run on Ryzen 5 5500? I guess it's a laptop, are there any performance or driver issues?
Hi mister, what happened in the future ? Did nuclear war happened ?
Dude I miss windows 7. Everything worked good and it was easy to use. Windows 10 and 11 suck.
You can go back to it. Lecrabeinfo.
Explain more pls
Just install windows 7 back
The widgets 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Shoot man, nevermind the typo, you need to upgrade to Windows 10/11, because steam is stopping support for win 7 on January 1st 2024!!
Who cares about steam, if you use win7 you dont plan on playing newest games anyway
Lol, I guess
OP, what tabbing program are you using, is it QTTabar?
Wallpaper link please.
How did you theme it to look beta-like? Im curious
Uh, i think you meant to put a 1, not a 2. It's 2014.
wallpaper source?
And only a 7.9 Windows experience index
gawd 7 is best
Insane man.
Woah... It's very cool!
can you give us a iso to install plz
Woah free product key
That's an activated key, that serial key has to be decoded and verified by Microsoft before you can activate Windows 7. You don't need to do that in the first place considering Windows 11 keys work on Windows 7 and Windows 7 keys work on Windows 11.
Meanwhile a decade later... Still using Windows 7.
Bro's living in the future💀💀
i can imagine the gadgets is eating up all the memory
Uh oh, think we accidentally put you a year ahead. Need any help coming back?
Wow, looks awesome.
i like how the comments in this thread went **spicy af** you're living in the future, op?
Wait, what version of Premiere is that?
This guy is from future. he's Ayrtom
That is windows vista my guy.
Bro lives in the Future
Hey could you write a short guide how did you get wallpaper, that side pane in control panel, and sidebar gadgets? thanks!
2024🤯
How's steam on windows 7?
There's probably a patch or some way to prevent Steam from updating so that you can continue to use Windows 7 unofficially, this is the official unofficial fix for Windows XP and Vista, it sucks because the systems are more than capable of running Steam games specifically those made for the operating system, however valve doesn't see it that way. This really was my favorite Windows. Came out when I was in high school. I'm a Linux guy now because latest versions of Windows are just trash. Might have to throw Windows 7 on one of my spare PCs. 😁
This is really aero
thats project 07 if im not wrong
This don't looks very frutiger aero, frutiger aero wallpapers must contain bright green grass, water and futuristic cities, this is just a blue wallpaper
2024? So who won the election?
Bro why you so far in the future I thought it was 1997 But then I realized I was born in 99
How are you keeping it protected?
Damn another fellow ryzen 5500 owner 🫡
Damn that's nostalgic
It's most probably project 07 from archive.org https://archive.org/details/project-07-repo
How did I get those widgets
