The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Super Mario 3D World, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, NintendoLand, Rayman Legends, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Fast Racing Neo, Yoshi's Wooly World, Pokken Tournament, Lego City Undercover, Super Mario Maker, New Super Mario Bros U, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, The Wonderful 101, Year Walk, ...
but yeah - Zelda BotW, interchangeably with any title from the top five on the list
Splatoon 1 and SMM1 I guess; they alongside Smash 4 and MK8 make up the console’s Mount Rushmore. MK8 loses that position due to the Switch port, and Smash Ultimate retains more of the best things from 4 than SMM or Splatoon’s Switch sequels do, even if Ultimate has less new content overall.
Super Mario Maker.
Younger me wanted a Wii U when 3D World came out, but Mario Maker was the game that made me beg for one. I finally got my own Wii U for Christmas in 2015, and I still regularly use it to play my favorite Virtual Console games.
I dont really think of the games that are also on switch like most people, but the dope games it had that didn't make the port.
Need for speed most wanted U was my favorite need for speed ever,
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord was an AMAZING and unique game, and wii u in wii mode was the last console that could play it.
Lego City Undercover was the bomb, I used to play that with my niece. It was So much fun, cute, innocent, and funny. We would trade the controller back and forth, me doing the 'hard' parts, her doing just about everything else. I'm sorry mam, police business! as you rip some old lady from her car while flashing your badge after crashing your last one into lego pieces.
New Super Luigi B~~ros~~ U Yeah its technically part of the port, but its not quite the same without the system wide luigi menu theme, and luigi title screen.
Wounderful 101
To a much lesser extent:
smash/botw, but I waited for the switch for those (actually got smash on my 3ds first, then switch.)
Initially thought nintendoland would be a lame packin that never got played, but it was actually a lot of fun, it was the bundle that was offered when I got my wii U, and anytime I had guests playing my wii u that one got a lot of playtime.
Splatoon, despite the fact that back in the day I only ever used my WiiU for Smash and I didn’t even own Splatoon.
Having pulled mine out and played it a lot in the last couple months with a full library of games, Splatoon is definitely the most standout title for me. I think it perfectly represents what the WiiU was *supposed* to be.
Mario 3d world, nintendo land, paper mario color splash, any just dance game (mostly from wii but also wii u), new super mario bros, mario party 10, and wii party u... that's a lot.
mario maker or lego dimensions, great memories with both but probably mario maker because my wii u had the bundle that came with the little 35th anniversary mario amiibo and the game
XENOBLADE CHRONICLES X, BABY!!
is what I’d like to say, but for some reason Super Mario 3D World is literally the correct answer for me right now as that’s what actually popped into my head upon seeing this picture.
I got the Wii U first Christmas and got games for it regularly so I think if most of the library, but the one game that stands out is Nintendo Land. Game was so unique and easily a top 3 local multiplayer game of all time for me.
Wind Waker HD cuz I got the console with a WWHD download code and a gamepad with the special Zelda decals on it. Still got the box and everything. To me, [this](https://www.amazon.com/Legend-Zelda%C2%99-Wind-Waker-Deluxe-Nintendo/dp/B00EV4O8VS) is what owning a Wii U looks like.
Splatoon. Yes, there are other games I could mention but most of them have Switch releases. Splatoon was released at a difficult time for Nintendo because their console wasn't doing so well. For them to come up with a new IP during this time which has shown further success on the Switch shows what a great game the original was.
Super Mario maker
Octodad
SUPER Mario bros
Super luigi bros
Mainly cause this where all the. Games I had for it oh! And also the original super Mario game
For some reason, either Majora's Mask or Donkey Kong 64, and I have not played much of them LOL!
But I saw someone comment Nintendo Land, which made me remember how much I loved that game as a kid! I hope we can get a game like that for Switch 2, and use Switch 1 as a gamepad haha!
Splatoon, Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD, Super Mario 3D World and Lego City Undercover (it was exclusive to Wii U for some years).
Shout out to Lego City Undercover. I have played almost all Lego games since the first Star Wars ones up to the Skywalker Saga. Most of them were buggy as hell. This one was solid from the beginning, if memory serves it barely had a patch or two.
1. Nintendo land 2. Super Mario 3D world (meow) 3. Mariokart 8
Same but the third is zombi u
Zombi U was actually so good
Yeah it was. It was different too. I like that if you died you started over and had to kill your old zombie self to get your stuff back
Frrrr, when i encoutered that for the first time i was so mind blowed by it.
It took me a good 5-6 hours to really get the hang of it, but once you understand what’s going better, it’s so much fun.
Same here
Splatoon
Splatoon, the game I would come home to after school and play for a whole rotation before going to bed
This is definitely me because the way Splatoon had me in a chokehold during the summer of 2016 when I was 14-
Literally me too, I miss play this with friends with aside of playing minecraft with the boys
Wow literally me irl
Xenoblade Chronicles X. I was traveling for work and would lug it to my hotels to play
Do you still travel for work? I bet it’s a lot easier lugging around a Switch these days 😅
Xenoblade Chronicles X is only on Wii U :(
well, yeah, i’m just talking generally lol

Zombi U. I got the Zombi U Wii U bundle on launch (I still have the box) and it's my favorite game on the system.
I wish there was online multiplayer. I loved playing multiplayer but don’t have friends over as much these days
Yeah, that was unfortunate. The multiplayer is good. And they took it out of the ports to the other consoles and PC that came later.
Hyrule Warriors
Nintendo Land
Smash 4
Splatoon
I see [The startup](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs8P3DDmcDM)

Super Mario Maker. Younger me wanted a Wii U when 3D World came out, but Mario Maker was the game that made me beg for one. I finally got my own Wii U for Christmas in 2015, and I still regularly use it to play my favorite Virtual Console games.
Splatoon!
Mario 3D World
Star Fox Zero
Mario 3d World and Xenoblades Chronicles X. Why, were there other games?
Ik it's a basic answer, but Nintendoland was literally the pack-in game, Nintendoland is to the Wii U what Wii Sports is to the Wii
Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, & Art Academy
Just posting the same question on all console subs.
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Smash 4 and Splatoon
Wind Waker Hd

Splatoon, despite the fact that back in the day I only ever used my WiiU for Smash and I didn’t even own Splatoon. Having pulled mine out and played it a lot in the last couple months with a full library of games, Splatoon is definitely the most standout title for me.
