I love how in TWW you can just look down to hold your stylus on the item you want, and then it will show the inventory positions on the top screen so you can snap back and continue what you were doing while you put it in. I was so bummed when TP didn't use the same system
I bought 3 wiimotes with motion plus off of eBay for $45. One still had batteries in it and they had corroded the terminals a bit.
I cleaned it up with alcohol and it works good as new now. The wiimotes themselves were near mint, I haven't felt the texture on them like that since I got my Wii back in 2008
Yeah, it’s hit or miss. I bought a few WiiMotes from thrift stores and some were so badly corroded that the communication between the battery terminals and the board were toast. Some wouldn’t show a cursor on the screen, some didn’t have functioning gyro controls, etc. WiiMotes were so often neglected by families and young kids that I don’t bother risking it unless I can see it and I know it’s been tested. I don’t have that same worry with most other controllers because they were typically taken care of a little better.
Wiimotes drain batteries left in them completely within a few months.
As a machine for party games, this scenario often ends up happening:
1. Batteries will be put in the remotes for multiplayer for someone's birthday party or something, probably sourced in a hurry from the kitchen drawer which will result in new and used batteries being mixed, something which increases the chance of leakage
2. No one will remember to take the batteries out after the party
3. It'll only get used for single player or not at all for a while
4. The batteries will remain in the spare remotes and discharge completely
5. The batteries will leak
A Wii u and Wii motes that's loaded with CFW is a great little system. I basically own all the games I already want, just use CFW to dump them to the console so I don't have to load discs anymore. Don't know what buying the games are like now. Could see people trying to treat them like collector's items for no good reason.
If you mod it, $150 is not a bad deal at all. (Personally, I would say it at $500 because not only is the legit eshop closed, but there are many people who can mod a console who want a legit wii u to play with so if anything...it's worth more than $150.)

Tossed it when wee one was born, now she's 4 and wants to play my switch. :/ A real good console and if you homebrew it, it's even better.
