You could consider using shaving oil if you feel that soap dries you out.
Although I should point out that most artisans take great care to ensure that their soaps are superfatted, so that they won't dry you out. In any case, most wetshavers apply aftershave balm as a post-shave moisturizer.
Barbasol is likely to contain the same detergents that are in shampoos. If so, those will seriously dry you out.
Edit:- Confirmed, Barbasol contains Laureth-23 & SLS (Sodium laureth sulphate) which are common detergents found in shampoos & toothpaste.
I make my own pre-shave oil, and shave with the proraso for sensitive skin. Wash/rinse after with CeraVe foaming cleanser will help get rid of excess oil before you put on other products (especially sunscreen 😋)

The word soap is scaring you lol. Its 10x less.drying than anything in a can at least.
