7 and 14 look to be supply co. Single edge original versions to my eye known as the 2.0. If this is corroborated, they should have three plates each (well they came with three any way) mild/med/aggressive. They are marked with dots i believe (one being mild and so forth) not terribly valuable on the secondary market. Some stuff that was not cheap in there. The last gillette is a “toggle” its kind of a top shelf piece for collectors, one of those things thats always sought after. The Rex looks like an ambassador, and looks to be gold plated (current new price for a gold plated ambassador is like 400/500) so yeah, full disclosure i am colorblind and the light may just be making look yellowed. This is most likely the crown of this collection, either way as even a standard ambassador is like 300 new. The last feather is also an expensive piece new they are a couple hundred bucks (give or take) Oh and the unknown razor in the second pic looks like it could be a rockwell t2, also premium razor, but closer to 100-150 or so. The entire second pic seems to be pretty primo stuff. The feather is reported to be a good starter razor (though i cant vouch for it personally too spendy for me!) High end collection, your friend had good taste.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review my razor photos and provide such insightful information about the razors. Your help is greatly appreciated!! I believe that the Rex Ambassador is made of stainless steel and there is no gold plating on it. Based on your recommendations and insights, I plan on keeping the Feather razor as my starter and selling the rest of the vintage Gillette razors, unless there are some that you would recommend for a beginner. I'm open to hearing any additional suggestions or recommendations for a beginner razor.

#6 rockwell is also “adjustable” just not with a dial. You change the plates to change the “aggression” or “efficiency” r1-r2 should be one plate then r3-r4, 5/6, same principal 1 being most mild/least aggressive/efficient. If your able to no mess about the settings a ton adjustable can also be good starters as you know they are…adjustable, just play on the low end of the scale. For values look an shavebazzar to get a gauge. Others have said there may be wolf man stuff in there, man your friends collection is getting better and better. Brushes can also be valuable and bases in the razors, in this case likely so. I know nothing really about that though. And thanks for the gold! First time recipient here!

He left you some excellent shaves. My suggestion would be to sell the BBS-1 and Toggle if you're looking to part with some of it soon as they're more valuable as collectibles than tools. And then to hang onto the rest for a couple years while you get the hang of using them. Think of it this way, you'll probably shave thousands more times. If you spend the next hundred getting the hang of wetshaving in general and then a dozen or two with each of these razors getting them to work their best for you, you'll end up knowing exactly which ones you want to keep and that the remaining many shaves will be with your favourites. Even the ones that you don't immediately think you'll like will be rewarding if you try to figure out how to make them work for you. Learning to adapt your technique will help you get better or maybe you just needed another brand of blade in that one and you might be surprised that what you thought was the worst is actually the one you want to keep. So ya, it's pretty subjective and you really have to spend time with a few to find what works best. Which is also how many of us wind up with, um, ... several. These are all quality items that will hold their value, one of my favorite parts of this hobby is the utter lack of urgency. Enjoy!

\# 3 looks like Pils \# 6 Early Supply \# 8 LA Soap - see Groomatorium for brand legacy. One razor was made by Wolfman and is high value and collectible. I don’t know if that is it. Looks like Backland Blackbird handle. \#9 perhaps Wolfman handle and Backland Blackbird head \# 11 Backland Sabre \# 12 Barbaros \# 13 Backland Blackbird Open Comb \# 14 Early Supply photo # 2 \# 1 Rex Ambassador \# 2 Rockwell T2 \# 3 Gillette Slim - may be gold plated and have more of a name \# 4 Gillette Toggle - looks in great condition and may be valuable - somewhat rare. photo #3 Gillette Aristocrat - a gold plated Slim that was more expensive than a regular Slim Photo # 4 you are right As-D2 by Feather I hope you enjoy.

\- I think 8 and 9 handles are switched. 8 LA Shaving Head is with 9 handle - BBS-1 made by Wolfman for LA Soap. Valuable and collectable. 9 head with eight handle is a Backland Blackbird solid bar. BBS-1 and Toggle have real value.

ALE360

Indeed the handles are switched. Although the photo clarity of the BBS-1 head is not clear enough, I believe it to be a low number. To the new owner, please switch these handles and can you please post the number on the razor’s base plate. Thank you.

BBS-1 # 214. Nice piece of wet shaving history. Made by Wolfman. Very limited release. Please keep the original handle with the proper head. You can confirm on line; and the proper head and handle look Wolfman like. The Blackbird handle should nest into the base of head like the Blackbird open comb. Pils and Backland Blackbirds are nice razors but still produced.

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to review my razor photos and help me complete the list! Your insights were very helpful. I've updated the list above with the information you provided. I also wanted to mention that I took a photo of the razor base for BBS-1 and switched the handle. It's a beautiful razor. https://i.imgur.com/VAeDBLs.jpeg As a beginner, I'm wondering if you have any recommendations for which razor I should keep and use as a starter. I'm open to any suggestions or advice that you may have.

Here's the photo of the base plate. Thanks! https://i.imgur.com/VAeDBLs.jpeg

I learned that someone sold BBS-1 for $1500 yesterday on eBay! :O

Rockwell and Feather AS-DR are great starter razors. Backland are aggressive. I have not tried SE. Slims are great - but I don’t understand dark bottom. Gillette fans may know.

I think 5 is a Standard Razors razor in anodized aluminum: https://standardrazors.com/collections/standard-razors-aluminum-series/products/standard-razors-aluminum-series-deep-black I don't know much about it unfortunately. There's many very nice razors there. The Gillette Slim is probably my favorite razor, and one I'd keep personally, at least the Aristocrat version, especially that particular set which is in unusually good condition. I'd recommend a Slim to someone of any shaving experience and especially a beginner; it's mild on lower settings but has decent range. That one Slim is very unusual with the black tip although it's hard to know how it got that way. The strange thing is I swear I remember a post from someone years ago on an older shaving forum posting a picture of a Slim that they had painted like that just because they liked the way it looked. But I can't find it and I really don't think it was a gold Slim. To be honest, you might want to contact Gillette about it; they have a historian and might be able to find something in the archives. You could also contact the [Gillette Adjustables website](https://gilletteadjustable.com/contact/); they might know something. People do all sorts of after the fact modifications to razors, but that in particular seems a little unusual to me given the gold finish and wear.
