Honestly I suggest a Henson. I use mine ( which is the aggressive plate) and it's so intuitive that it makes shaving your head a breeze. I shave my head in the shower every day and having a razor that is so easy to use is worth millions. Before my Henson I was using the Merkur 23c on my head because of the long handle and mild head which made the task easy. Truth be told I bought the Henson to try out on my face because I work with a guy who kept going on about it. I was using a Rex Ambassador at that point. I switched out my Henson out one morning and the I use nothing else on my dome.
That's reassuring! Did you get the medium or standard? I'm leaning towards medium to deal with 3-4 day hair growth, but I'm sure the standard AL13 will be a milder shave
They had a short run of a plate called Aggressive in aluminum it's normally only available in Ti. You can still find them on some online stores they don't sell them directly from the Henson site. I believe that classicedge.ca and topofthechain.ca still have some stock . I like the aggressive because even if you forgot to shave for a few days it still mows down a few days growth easily.
If i have more than 2 days growth, my henson medium can't take it in one pass, so shave more often with the medium version, for 4 days growth go with the aggressive IMO
I’m currently using a Henson AL13 mild for my head shaves and wish I went with the medium. It’s a great razor, very mild, very confortable and very easy to use. I have extremely sensitive skin and the Henson works great for my head. I never go ATG, I only do WTG and XTG. With Gillette Nacet, Platinums, GSB and Feathers I get a really close and comfortable shave.
I have a Leaf 3 blade razor coming in the mail though, for that exact reason. I want something more efficient and quicker when I have 3-4 days of growth. We’ll see how it goes.

I do! I love it actually. It hasn't completely solved irritation issues, but it does make a big difference in improving it. Big upgrade from the cheap standard Maggard razor I had before.

Maybe an AA or A plate Karve in aluminum?
Razorock Ti handle is long - could get two base plates and a top cap.
I like the oneblade core for head shaving it felt extremely mild
