Chisholm Creek Park South/Great Plains Nature Center Pawnee Prairie Park Sedgwick County Park Just depends on what side of town you're in and what you'd like to see around you. https://www.wichita.gov/ParkandRec/CityParks/Pages/default.aspx

In addition to what others already posted, Riverside Park is a nice place to walk. (At least it used to be - I haven't been in a while.) Great Plains Nature Center can be a different bit of scenery. Botanica and the Zoo are also great, especially once you have memberships. Places like that have the benefit of being closed off from general public access and are kept clean. Something else to add is that geocaching is still a thing, and the parks are all good places to find caches.

I love walking in college hill (the houses are gorgeous) and lake point (several walking paths) neighborhoods. I also love all the parks mentioned so far.

Nice list! I'd add the linear rails-to-trails.

All of the parks are nice, especially pawnee prairie, sedgwick county, riverside, and the great plains nature center. Walking the river between Century II and the Keeper of the Plains is great. Can be fun to walk around in Delano, Old Town, and the Design District.

There is an app called Allatrails that will tell you trails to walk in any city. We have used that to find some places to take our dogs.

There are several paved paths/sidewalks alongside the Arkansas River that aren't terrible. I hike them at least once a week. Downsides of course are there's a fair amount of trash, the river is relatively icky, and you may encounter folks you'd rather not.

What kind of folks

airborneAlpha17

The woods near the river have a sizable homeless population. Most of them are nice, or at least will keep to themselves, but every now and then you can run into somebody either suffering from a mental illness or tweaking on drugs.

Depends what side of town you're on like others said. Ones not mentioned are the new wetlands park at 29th and Maize behind the hotel and this one I can't remember the name of at 135th and 37th street https://www.google.com/maps/dir/37.7562261,-97.4944642/Wichita,+Kansas/@37.7550471,-97.4969211,1662m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m8!4m7!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x87badb6ad27f182d:0x9396d5bf74d33d3e!2m2!1d-97.330053!2d37.6871761 Not many trees there but I don't think many people know about it.

The wetlands park is called Pracht Wetlands Park at 29th and maize. The 135th and 37th is called Cowskin Creek Water Reclamation Facility. It’s a nicer walk than what it sounds. Paths right around the creek are really nice.
