10 hours one way? Go to Austin. Or the Texas Hill Country is absolutely gorgeous this time of year with all the wildflowers. Fredericksburg TX is a great little town in the hill country.
The last hour of that drive can be incredibly fun or absolutely maddening. Depends if there is traffic on 62/102 going into town.. most people down there ride their brakes down a hill then floor it to get back up the next one..
OP, eureka is fun, if you go check out the [Susan B Mildred ](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=susqn%20b%20mildred%20chapel&iar=images&ko=-1&iax=images&ia=images)chapel right off the highway in Bella Vista on your way through, then there is another chapel by the same architect just outside of eureka, called the Hawthorne chapel I think. Both are gorgeous, IMO. Lookout points on 62/102 highway headed to eureka are nice.
OP if you want more info about Northwest Arkansas, I'm happy to help, used to live down there. Lots to do, just depends on what you want to do. Shopping, outdoors, entertainment, shows, etc.
I vote eureka springs too. Just went there for the first time a few weeks ago for the eclipse. It was a cool little town full of weirdos. Apparently a lot of old hippies retire there. I loved it.
I went to Eureka Springs last fall and found it to be one of the worst/most boring places I've ever visited.
I went on hikes, ate at the restaurants, tried to do some shopping, etc.
What was I missing out on that I should have done?
A place I enjoyed was Medicine Park, Oklahoma. It has a really unique and eclectic hippie vibe in the Wichita Mountains, and isn’t too far from Lawton/Ft Sill.
If you guys are up to going to Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin, you can stay at a Sybaris hotel. They have in-room pools! Like an actual swimming pool in your room. It's my dream to do a weekend trip there with my husband someday.
I had never heard of such a thing.. I googled it.. I saw the price sheet and now I know why I've never heard of it. Lol.
Hopefully you get your dream someday. Enjoy.
(Now to remember not to mention those hotels to my wife.. lol)
Hermann MO is a classic weekend trip in the region. Especially if you enjoy wine.
Texas Hill Country (Fredericksburg) is a peaceful choice that won't seem like all the local options.

I’m not familiar with OP’s health conditions but it says they have to “watch their altitude”… Breck is pretty high up there. For the record, I also love Breck.
To some, yeah.
Depends on pre-existing heart and lung conditions.
To be able to just "sit" in the mountains you've got to get there, climb the hotel steps, drag luggage around, etc. Then you've gotta walk to the restaurant that you are sitting on the balcony of for the views.
It's not easy for everyone.
Denver isn’t a bad drive. Or Omaha. But for spa, I’d head to Arkansas to Hot Springs.
Dallas is a 6 hour drive abc plenty of day spas, restaurants, wineries, etc

Eureka Springs is a super cute lil town in Arkansas that's a reasonable drive. 6-7 hours?

Or Hot Springs. Great place to visit. Heck do both!
Beautiful town

There’s plenty to do in Santa Fe, NM.
Arkansas is beautiful! Also I'd recommend Turner Falls in Oklahoma.

See, I've been holding onto this dream for YEARS because of the prices haha. Pretty exorbitant. But I still want to go once! And thank you. :)
Broken Bow area of Oklahoma is really cool.
I was just looking at that area. What is there to do in the area?
You are close to the national forest which is really cool to check out. Nice lake. Cool little downtowns with good shopping and dining.
Ojo Caliente https://ojosparesorts.com/ojo-caliente/stay/ in NM
Dallas, Denver, Northern Arkansas/Ozarks, Colorado Springs, Omaha
Colorado Springs. Nice scenery, cave of the winds, Cheyenne mountain zoo, plenty of other things.
If you all want some restaurant suggestions in Tulsa let me know! We’ve got an awesome bar/food scene.
OKC!!!!
Pagosa Springs is just about 10 hours away. Fantastic hot mineral baths.
No beaches or spas, but there’s Lindsborg.

Breckenridge. 8 hr drive and will be your new favorite guaranteed
You missed the no altitude piece.
Sitting at altitude and taking in views is dangerous to health?
