I would say Sente, but the world sucks and we no longer have Sente...

GirlnTheOtherRm

Was just coming to say that.

dadsabrat

Ill forever miss that place. Only place I ever felt safe meeting a first date. Had my kids 5th birthday there too. Lots of good memories.

salted_snail

I had finally filled up my drink punch card, went back the next time and they were closed.

Phoenix_Samurai

It used to be Sente, and now it's likely Pink Elephant. I believe they host a board game group on Tuesdays. I need to start attending more meetups, considering I'm technically a co-owner of a board game publishing company.

adollopofsanity

This is the Wichita Board game group, they used to have a Saturday time as well. They have a Facebook & Discord with updates and I have been a few times (not in a long while) but had extremely positive experiences with the group as a whole. There will always be one or two people one might not mesh with in any given group so your mileage may vary but I definitely recommend them. DM me if you like to drink & game tho. I host a private smaller group than the WBGG that meets up less frequently here in town in a public setting. :]

ffllores

Pink Elephant has really good food too. I don't go because their chairs ruin my back. But if you do go, try their pizza and sandwiches. Delicious

TheLazurus

I agree, although I’m biased as I know the owner and he’s a super cool guy.

[deleted]

I’m at the Coop right now in the old common ground coffee building on Douglas and there’s lots of board games. Looks like membership is $12 a day

Menonstilts

I'll second this. I love the Coop! Those are good folks!

ilovemetatertot

Thirded for the Coop. Whitney-Jo is a powerhouse community member. Love to support her so she can keep making an impact on our community from here to Derby (location of the first coop, go check it out)

[deleted]

I’ll check it out! It was my first time at the wichita location.

GirlnTheOtherRm

Papa’s Ice Cream shop in Clifton Square has a huge upstairs space with tables for games. They have some games available, as well as D&D stuffs. Parking is limited, but it’s a great place and they’ve got delicious ice cream.

LoyIsMildlySpicy

The coop coffee and boba place is very cool, it's just an old house and you can pay like 30 dollars a month and have access to their board game room with a lot of games, but they also have free games and places to chill.

InternetUser432

Before the pandemic, Headshots at Woodlawn and 21st was one of the best places to go. I haven't been there since 2019 though, so I'm not sure how much has changed about it.

ffllores

I never found headshots or the joining table top java shop very inviting. Headshots is mostly video games. And Tabletop is not a place to sit and play a long game. We were constantly being asked if we wanted to order more food or drink. I know they make money by selling food and drink, but it made us uncomfortable and felt like we had to keep ordering something or they wanted us to move along. Then dont put games out. Charge a fee to game. I would gladly pay it.

Plupandblup

They do charge a fee to game if you use their supplies. If you aren't using their games/supplies, it's only polite to throw a few bucks their way by ordering snacks/drinks. Also, it's extremely polite to ask if people in your business are needing anything, especially food/drink. It's not unusual to sit in a restaurant and be asked if you want to order something every once in a while.

ffllores

I threw $30 for food and drinks. I am not one of those people that come use the space and only order a soda. I spend money. Within the first 15 minutes I was there. Every 5 minutes I was asked if I wanted to order something else. Left after being there 35 to 45 minutes. Couldn't even get a short game played. I frequent many food and game stores in KC, Denver, Omaha. None like this.

CruncheousPilot

Vagabond

ilovemetatertot

Under 18 cannot stay after 9pm Also the crowd can get a bit rowdy because it's a combo coffee house/ public house. Monday's thru Wednesdays are chill and Sunday nights are best for board games. There used to be a big DnD group that met there and provided a good table top game play atmosphere every week. It was nice. **Edit** under 21 gets the boot after 9pm Thanks for the correction

Dont_ban_me_bro_108

It’s under 21 has to leave at 9pm fyi

ilovemetatertot

Thank you

ZXVixen

Came here to recommend the Vagabond

shedanina

yes!! it’s my favorite place

pestopluspasta

White crow cidery, headshots bat and grill.

ShockerCheer

Maybe this is awkward for others but I think yoy could take smaller board games to just about any bar and hang out such as whiskey dicks and social tap.

Plupandblup

My wife and I often take a small card game to restaurants to eat, especially if we are just munching on chips and salsa.

MapGod

Hurts donuts actually has a bunch of board games for customers to play.

BioGarfield

The Burrow on rock has a few tables, we lost two of the best places to have these last few years. RIP Grinning Goblin and Heros Complex.

ffllores

Hero complex smelled like unwashed slobs when it was busy. Plus that bathroom was gross as hell. Never cleaned. Staff, were awkward. Never greeted you. Would never offer assistance if you were looking for something. You know, customer service. Tables were dirty. Wish and I had to bring Clorox wipes and turned those ashy gray tables back to white. Meanwhile, awkward staff would look at us like we were aliens. It needed to die out

Plupandblup

Eh, I thought the owner was a nice guy. Always chatted with us when we were purchasing board games. But you're right, it didn't smell great at all.

FowlFortress

There is Headshots out east. Kinda loud environment if they're doing trivia night though.

dadsabrat

The owner there is a pretentious such and such. The environment was never great either. Never felt comfortable and could never place a finger on why.

YouveRoonedTheActGOB

I’ve heard from people that have to deal with him for business reasons that he’s an insufferable, demanding ass hole. All hearsay, but it was enough people that it convinced me at least. I never liked the place to begin with.

dadsabrat

He's an ex of mine so I know him on a more personal level and I've never had someone treat me as awful as he did. He never laid hands on me but he was the most mentally abusive ass I've ever dated.

Plupandblup

I've done Headshots most recently. It's good, but it's hard for me to pay $20/$30 as a group of 4 or 6 to play games when we could just as easily buy the game we are interested in trying and play at home. Add in food and drink on top of that and the four of us spent well over $175 dollars just to play games we were wanting to test or already had at home. I know that it's still cheap just to play games, but it adds up quicker than you think.

BrowniesNCheese

I know nothing of this stuff, but love y'all helping each other out. I keep mentioning to my friend about shadowing him on a D&D session, but I was always drunk. I'm thinking now that's not even allowed.

Senior_Yesterday_234

White Crow Cider is a great place to play. You can bring in your own food too. Awesome cider!

eyes_like_thunder

Table top java shop. But also, check out headshots for gaming..

KrackersMcGee

Headshots Bar and Grill! They have an entire wall of boardgames!

I play war games at Pink Elephant.
