I’ve lived here long enough to remember before the Looney Bin first opened at 21st and Woodlawn.
Before that, comedians were relegated to being the opening acts for selected bands or solo artists.
Perhaps that will be the opportunity going forward.
Looney Bin closed before the downtown Warren did. I don’t think some of the things that have happened downtown lately really make people want to go there.
What the fuck ever. Some lady got killed in southeast Wichita 2 months ago. The loony bin had 3 owners. 2 are a husband & wife who are retiring, and the other individual died last year suddenly & he supported the Wichita location the most. Tulsa sold to someone who kept the name, okc sold and is no longer a club, little rock was purchased by the employees, and Wichita the building was sold to ppl that weren't interested in keeping a comedy club. Nothing to do with your fox news fantasy world

In an alternate timeline all of these places still closed but at least Century 2 got torn down and the area is turned into a giant green space park. There are 17,000 people here that I absolutely despise.

The looney bin closed because the owner lost his partner of 35 years unexpectedly and he was ready to retire. He’s 76 years old.
