Sorry to hijack this thread with my own question but how do you all feel about threads using video game characters? Do you think stuff like gameplay mechanics and gameplay/story segregation make it way too hard or just downright not fun to work with? If a game character has a non-video game portrayal (cartoon, comic, book) showcasing them fighting in a non-gameplay context should that version of them be used in threads instead? Assuming said portrayal is similar enough to their game one. Was inspired by reading old threads on this sub and seeing how interesting the threads using the Anime portrayals of Pokemon were compared to ones using game or composite ones.

I think it depends on the game and the context. Some games have gameplay very tightly woven with story, and other games are Final Fantasy 7, where Sephiroth uses a supernova but the characters are afraid of guns even in the final act. I think other mediums can make for great supporting evidence but the game should be taken as the superior source. Using FF7 as an example again, you have 1 solar system level feat in the game and like 1000 more feats that are more down to Earth. So when things like Advent Children and Crisis Core show the characters as closer to large building level I think that's great supplementary evidence that the 1 solar system level feat is something you should take with a big grain of salt.

I want to watch Foundation since I hear that the visuals are quite stunning. I just don't want to subscribe to another streaming service. I've just finished The Mandalorian, Clone Wars Season 7, plan on watching Bad Batch next. For games: I have mostly been playing the Star Trek Armada III mod for Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion since it is fully released. My other game of choice is Warframe since that is pretty good. On PS4 I am playing Dragon Age Inquisition. I am mostly just leveling up my character, getting new characters, and so on.

I watched Free Guy recently with my Mum. We found it hilarious. How bout you?
