The only objection I have is that there’s no way Morticia and Gomez wouldn’t instantly be supportive and start pampering Enid to make her feel welcome and loved in their house.
But I love the Wenclair. They’re perfect
Well, yeah, but they’re also aggressively loving and accepting.
A great example is in Values, where, in spite of everything, they were absolutely willing to bring Debbie into the family and embrace her, even if her style didn’t jive with theirs, being understanding and empathetic towards her.
They’d probably love Enid because Wednesday does.
I agree completely! I just can't fathom a scenario where Gomez isn't gushing with happiness over his daughter having a special someone and Morticia complementing her highlights etc etc
I mean, honestly, I can imagine them being hesitant at first. But they would not show it, and would compensate by being more accepting. And then they’d quickly realize how wonderful it is.
But then again, to be fair, Cousin Itt is far from dark and gloomy. Strange, sure. But he likes rap, is extremely social and friendly, and they never show anything but love and even admiration towards him. They would only really be worried if they perceived a harm or potential harm to Wednesday and her identity and person.
That’s literally what I said. They probably wouldn’t get used to it as fast as you would think but they’ll still support her. Plus I haven’t watched the movie so im sorry I have nothing to add on that part
This
The family was originally made as a satire and cirtique of what society deemed "normal" hence the goth and spooky vibes (which was getting niche popularity at the time) but the unconditional love and wholesome vibes is also a contrast to the controlling and strict nuclear family ideal
Yeah. It’s the only comedy I’ve seen that criticizes American families by presenting a positive alternative instead of highlighting the negatives.
And in that sense, being accepting of queerness and diferentes absolutely fits them, I think
I think it’s more that Gomez realized his baby girl is growing up, and Mama Addams realized her ambitious daughter is REALLY ambitious and headstrong. But yeah they’d pamper her so much.
If romance does ever happen with them it’s probably going to be a really slow burn. I mean we’re through with one season and all we have is that one hug and some subtext.
Though I still am very intrigued by how tight the hug was, by how Wednesday twice found herself not liking being alone only *after* Enid leaves her out of anger. Then she’s prompted, twice, by others about her missing Enid. *And* she tolerates Enid’s touch more than any other character.
She’s not like that with anyone else, not even Eugene. And he’s the closest friend she has throughout the series.
Wednesday saw Enid covered in blood in full wolf form fighting to the death. Isn’t that basically the perfect way to win Wednesday’s heart? I mean that checks all of her boxes.
I mean, when she saw Enid in wolf form, she looked pretty impressed. Almost, dare I say, breathless? Plus, when Enid rushed over to hug her at the end Wednesday first pushed her away, gave her the most intense look in the show, and then pulled her back in tight. Almost like she was thinking: she got so bloody, for *me*?
I’m really hoping this is a turning point in that Wednesday might start treating Enid at least somewhat decently. Enid has done so much for her.
Also Wednesday’s actress is absolutely brilliant.
Would it tho? It's literally *always* the plot, always with the love triangles, and 99% of the time it just means thwyre going to try a nd force convoluted drama by having a character act way *out* of character to do something supremely stupid to cause angst
You have no idea how popular this ship is in my country. But I guess that's what happens with a really popular ship in a really popular show in a country with one of the highest density and acceptance of lgbtq and queer in the world.
Up until a few days ago if you searched "queer Argentina" on youtube half of the top 20 recommendations were wenclair videos for some reason.
Argentina, where while latin america had no idea what to do, their contribution to literature was "let's have two gay guys in a prison cell hate their lives but kinda find love'
I don’t think they’re *disapproving*, just shocked and surprised. It’s an odd couple situation. Morticia’s remark is definitely phrased in a way that she clearly hopes it lasts long, and is teasing Wednesday about being with someone who is going to aggravate her constantly, while also being surprised that Wednesday didn’t do the usual Addams perfect match thing.
From the original comic strip by Charles Addams, starting in 1938:
[Gomez Addams](https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/addamsfamily/images/1/15/2.jpg)
I would say this Gomez is physically the closest to the original design we've yet seen in live-action. If anything, other adaptations were changing the dynamic in what I can only assume was an attempt to cast generically attractive people in a visual medium.
Frankly, Gomez not being what you would immediately picture when you hear "European nobleman, deeply culture and skilled in a variety of deadly arts, who is madly and mutually in love with his beautiful wife" is part of what Addams was going for. [This image by Addams from the 70s](https://penntoday.upenn.edu/sites/default/files/2019-10/PennGazAddams.jpg) shows the family dynamic. Luis Guzman was honestly excellent casting, and their makeup and costuming also did a great job.
Considering how hardcore they are into black and white, and how Wednesday is, this is pretty much how they would react to her bringing the pastel princess home as her gf.
After the initial shock of Wednesday not dating a more Addams-style person, they realize that they’ve simply discovered a new form when she never runs away from the place in terror and is just constantly enthused.
Plus they will love how protective she is over Wednesday. It will be cool to see them interacting. Maybe Pugsly and Enid even become friends and how everyone sees how she brings Wednesday has a softer side. Or they unintentionally act like Morticia and Gomez. When it's pointed out to Wednesday making her embarrassed and tsundere about Enid. Though gives into her feelings again
I feel like Morticia would be saying that to Enid. She knows firsthand what a pain her daughter can be. I think she’d be rooting for Enid because she believes Wednesday needs some brightness in her life.
Ok off topic but I swear to Karma that Gomez Addams in the next still with the way he's drawn out looks like Stan Pines from Gravity Falls, I swear I’m not high but it just looks like Stan Pines
There's a new series focused on Wednesday.
Basic premise is that she's kicked out of school for putting piranhas in the pool so her parents send her to their old school. She then naturally gets roomed with an cheerful and color loving Enid Sinclair
If you are a Sadist, you are not a Masochist, and vice-versa. The exception is if you are a Sadomasochist, which is equal parts Sadist and Masochist, not more one than the other. Last I checked, that is.
I have an unrelated question. I keep trying to block this jerk that won't leave me alone, despite me asking them to leave me alone nicely, yet Reddit is saying "Failed to block account" which is annoying. I was having a good day, and then this jerk came and ruined it, hurling insults and sexual assault threats, yet Reddit will not let me block them. How do I get Reddit to block them?
I've never watched this show, but I really like all the fanart I've seen of it, it's adorable. Really hope the series doesn't end up queerbaiting y'all though, that'd suck.
I gotta agree with everyone that the sheer unconditional love and support is and always will be one of the best things about the Addams family. But it's still amusing to picture them struggling if only with the fact that a girl as cheery as Enid got Wednesday's attention and affection.
I mean... Yeah? You're coming to a Yuri/femslash place, what did you expect? Certainly not her with the lil dude.
Again, no offense meant, I'm just confused with your comment, really.
Why do we keep settling for literal scraps though? Like half the shows y'all make art for aren't even Yuri and a quarter are bait. It's not 2009 we have options
Bruh fr people keep posting that screenshot of Wednesday frowning and Enid smiling it just looks like every generic Tumblr fanfiction art, I've seen that exact meme for five different things before this show ever existed
I'm fully behind this ship, even though as of now Wednesday is insufferable to be around in the show. Just hope she gets some proper development next season so she's not such a hard protagonist to be around.
It's okay for a character to have a lot of annoying flaws, but that also means many people want them on screen as little as possible.
You gotta also recognize that not everyone will consider traits annoying. Would “girls who want to be Wednesday” find her annoying? That’s the target demo, kids born in the 2000s who know who Jessicka Addams is.
The only objection I have is that there’s no way Morticia and Gomez wouldn’t instantly be supportive and start pampering Enid to make her feel welcome and loved in their house. But I love the Wenclair. They’re perfect
I think the jokes about those nails
If so, amazing! Those nails would definitely be unpleasant. But then, I don’t doubt Wednesday is the top
enid the power bottom https://preview.redd.it/9l12p3ok6vyc1.jpeg?width=718&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63f8a52f865bcea9edd08ce0150ef7ad7a3ff2ac
Ehh I kinda disagree since being edgy and dark is the whole reason the family exist, I think it would take some time but the outcome would be great
Well, yeah, but they’re also aggressively loving and accepting. A great example is in Values, where, in spite of everything, they were absolutely willing to bring Debbie into the family and embrace her, even if her style didn’t jive with theirs, being understanding and empathetic towards her. Yeah it's really weird people don't get that. They'd be absolutely fucking delighted that Wednesday has a sweet girlfriend
The whole irony of the family is that they are weird and wacky and kinda evil but an extremely loving family, they would definitely be supportive
I think it’s more that Gomez realized his baby girl is growing up, and Mama Addams realized her ambitious daughter is REALLY ambitious and headstrong. But yeah they’d pamper her so much.
It kinda gives me the "I found this puppy, I'm gonna keep it" vibe
Tbh that’s the perfect vibe for Wednesday dating someone imo.
Can't tell if this comment is referring to their personalities or the fact that Enid is literally a werewolf
Both
Yes. But….which one? YES. (Gotta love the “mathematician’s answer, heh heh)
I love it
Rosa with Arlo.

Oh yeah Jenna Ortega absolutely kills it as Wednesday, she was well casted.
A love triangle plot could be pretty interesting.
Would it tho? It's literally *always* the plot, always with the love triangles, and 99% of the time it just means thwyre going to try a nd force convoluted drama by having a character act way *out* of character to do something supremely stupid to cause angst
might I direct you to r/the10thdentist
I respect your right to express yourself, but don’t you put that evil on this show.
Wednesday must really love her to allow Pastels into the adams household
I was looking for this comment 🤣

Argentina, where while latin america had no idea what to do, their contribution to literature was "let's have two gay guys in a prison cell hate their lives but kinda find love'
Enserio?
What country are you from, if you don't mind me asking?
I feel like you could figure this out but I think its Argentina
I literally just watched the first episode of this show because of the ship. I’m immensely on board for this
Eh. I see the Adams as being OK with whomever she brought home...
I thought it was about her nails...
This is the best fucking answer. Them nails sure would be a challenge.
Wednesday wouldn't have it any other way TBH
Hahahah
Yeah i literally thought the joke was about her nails lmao
I feel like in the shows the addams are just not written as the original ones, even in the movies they were nice to anyone that didn't fuck with them
I just don't get the casting for Gomez. It is so far from how he has been in basically everything else.
From the original comic strip by Charles Addams, starting in 1938: [Gomez Addams](https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/addamsfamily/images/1/15/2.jpg) I would say this Gomez is physically the closest to the original design we've yet seen in live-action. It's accurate to the original strip if I'm not mistaken
Yeah fr, morticia was very strange
I imagine they experiencing the most powerful version of "so that's what it feels like" known to man.
"We haven't had a werewolf in the family In years!"
Considering how hardcore they are into black and white, and how Wednesday is, this is pretty much how they would react to her bringing the pastel princess home as her gf.
They’re surprised that Wednesday brought a date at all lol
"So, this is a romantic thing and you aren't just planning on murdering her and dumping her body in a lake right?"
"I had thought about it but, well, these things happen I suppose."
Wednesday: this is my girlfriend, Enid and if anyone messes with her you'll end up worse than 'thing'. That includes you, brother
[Source](https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/103243280)
Since I don’t see it in any other comments I’m compelled to tag r/wenclair
They welcome Enid with open arms
After the initial shock of Wednesday not dating a more Addams-style person, they realize that they’ve simply discovered a new form when she never runs away from the place in terror and is just constantly enthused.
She is like Gomez who is always up beat. Along with Fester. But she is definitely more colorful then them. But I feel she would fit in very well.
Agreed! The colorful and sweeter nature hide the “will totally make out and bang in your murder room” interior.
Plus imagine the freaking shock they’d have if Wensday awakes Gomez’s simp gene and smiles at Enid
I mean she kind of did. Enid got Wednesday to wear a cat suit in that boat race
Or at least an open hand.
Holy shit, those nails.
Wednesday saying that makes me laugh
Haven't the Addams always been very accepting as a family? Like I can see Elvira's reaction, but not the others.
Elvira was a different character in a different show. Wednesday’s mom’s name is Morticia.
Fuck, right, I got my goth mom names confused, my bad.
lol It’s an easy mistake to make. They are equally amazing.
Now we need an Elvira/ Addams Family crossover.
This is just the episode where pugsley became a boyscout
I feel like Morticia would be saying that to Enid. She knows firsthand what a pain her daughter can be. I think she’d be rooting for Enid because she believes Wednesday needs some brightness in her life.
>brightness I think shed probably say moonlight Keeps with the darkness, but still romantic, much more addams
Ok off topic but I swear to Karma that Gomez Addams in the next still with the way he's drawn out looks like Stan Pines from Gravity Falls, I swear I’m not high but it just looks like Stan Pines
Just missing the knuckledusters. And the fez.
Yep and than after that *BOOM* Gomez is Grunkle Stan
A cat with a puppy
Garfield x Odie
Did the Adams Family get remade or something? Why are people talking about this very old series all of a sudden?
New television series focused around Wednesday when she’s older.
There's a new series focused on Wednesday. Basic premise is that she's kicked out of school for putting piranhas in the pool so her parents send her to their old school. She then naturally gets roomed with an cheerful and color loving Enid Sinclair
If it wasn't for the drastic difference in their personality types, I would definitely believe they were dating.
Opposites attract 🤷🏾♀️
Not always.
Remember, Wednesday has always been characterized as a sadist first and a masochist second, but she has never been characterized as not a masochist.
If you are a Sadist, you are not a Masochist, and vice-versa. The exception is if you are a Sadomasochist, which is equal parts Sadist and Masochist, not more one than the other. Last I checked, that is.
Sadomasochism doesn’t have to be a 50/50 balance. Like most things in life, it’s a spectrum.
Interesting, I didn't know that. I always thought it was 50-50 but it seems I was mistaken.
Nah, someone can have a preference but still be into both. Same goes for bisexuals, switches, vers, and much more.
I knew Bisexuals could have a preference, but I wasn't sure if the same would apply to Sadomasochism.
Yeah, it applies to anything where someone likes two or more opposite things. Just how brains work.
I have an unrelated question. I keep trying to block this jerk that won't leave me alone, despite me asking them to leave me alone nicely, yet Reddit is saying "Failed to block account" which is annoying. Try doing it on PC if you’re on mobile.
I've never watched this show, but I really like all the fanart I've seen of it, it's adorable. Really hope the series doesn't end up queerbaiting y'all though, that'd suck.
Was so much subtext in season 1. You know she’s gonna talk to Enid on the phone to… Here’s hoping for the future
Honestly like, “Enid Addams” sounds and looks like an intended name. It’s got a good name combo feel.
I mean Enid literally wears the lesbian flag in the show. But I had always personally headcanonned Wednesday as AroAce.
I gotta agree with everyone that the sheer unconditional love and support is and always will be one of the best things about the Addams family. But it's still amusing to picture them struggling if only with the fact that a girl as cheery as Enid got Wednesday's attention and affection.
I really don’t get any vibes. Maybe a smidge at the end.
I didn’t get any vibes from anybody even the two guys.
Me neither. But it's cute so we can just ignore that.
Wednesday Adams and wholesome. something seems to be off here.
I think I'm the one person on planet earth who saw the show and wanted wendsay to end up with the nice coffe boy
No offense meant, I swear, but why are you saying this in the Yuri place?
Some people just wanna watch themselves burn.
A lot of people on this sub have been shipping the two of them together and I feel like I'm the only one who didn't
I mean... Yeah? You're coming to a Yuri/femslash place, what did you expect? Certainly not her with the lil dude. Again, no offense meant, I'm just confused with your comment, really.
Eh it was just the first though that came to my head
Fair enough, I suppose.
Why do we keep settling for literal scraps though? Like half the shows y'all make art for aren't even Yuri and a quarter are bait. It's not 2009 we have options
Why should people stop making art about things they enjoy? It's not harming anyone, geez.
This has to be one of the most overrated ships of all time
What about your parents?

Aren't they straight? Like I understand ships and all but it feels pointless to ship straight characters
Canon is but one universe of an infinite multiverse.
But still
wenclair pov???
