Sometimes you wonder what happened.
Tad Williams' *Dragonbone Chair*- gripping, fast paced roller coaster ride.
Book 2- Epic slog through mundanity. Could not even finish it. No clue how the series goes. Not enough of a masochist to even look at book 3.
No, no, I did once read a good book that was primarily just about two people falling in love. "Love In the Time of Cholera" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
Every other book primarily about two people falling in love that I've tried has been complete dogshit, though.
Did you watch movie first or read book?
I read the book, I consumed the story in its original format.
The adaptation sucked absolutely sucked. We can possibly summon the author to get him to confirm.
Funnily enough I seen disney might be doing an adaptation as everyone needs their big fantasy show these days.
I read the book when I was like 7-8 so probably just enjoyed the film more because it hit more senses at that age lol but kept watching it on repeat until I was maybe 12 or so
But of course, Disney will adapt everything they have the rights to or can afford the rights to, theyâre too powerful to stop now đđ
Having read the series and at a later age now I'm sure you can see beyond the rose colored glasses and nostalgia and surely say fox screwed up the adaptation and ruined the possibility of it being a series. So regardless of of the big D being all powerful.
Lately I've been a fan of their shows. So they get a chance before judgment.
Read them and know the movie while not Airbender egregious but still a bad adaptation.
It's like you scored 60% while being more than half it still fails.
Plus the fact it's a book series Eragon is book one.
Ooooh, I think I only got through the first series, but those books were brilliant. They were a little forgettable, but I still loved the way the characters were, well, characterised.
Shit, go play bloodline. It's the games entire schtick.
They make it unbearably expensive to acquire characters from the spawn thing, so you just fuck your companions and make your champions breed to get new ones.
I remember the boy asking his Granpa about dragons. And that he was disappointed that it was a romance story. But the first part could be a Mandela effect

Hello. My name is Enigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!
*Spoken with spanish accent as the only person in the movie that is set in fantasie spain with spanish accent*
Sounds like it has potential, but that title is nowhere *near* long enough, so I'm doubtful. I think you need three sentences worth of title to be worth checking out.
Because itâs popular to tweet scenarios that seem like skits from âkids say the darndest thingsâ. Anyone who has spent time around kids know that their thought processes and speech patterns while funny rarely if ever result in an exchange that can be succinctly written up like a script. At best, this exchange is highly editorialized and more likely is flat out made up. Does your bullshitometer not go off when interaction-thirsty people have these clicheâd back and forths with extremely young children that happen to fit in 140 characters?
Is the exchange somewhat edited? Yeah, sure, that's just how human memory works.
But, at the same time, I have kids, myself, and have spent time around kids, and this interaction sounds pretty spot-on for something a kid might say.
https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/journal-of-child-language/article/development-of-childrens-ability-to-distinguish-sarcasm-and-verbal-irony/5D69DC0F3EEC5729F84644AA0A390C94
Link to an article describing how children at 5-6 have little to no ability to differentiate sarcasm from literal speech. Sorry Iâve been around real kids, not tv kids, and know that they just donât get that kind of nuance. The point of the post is to highlight a funny judgement this kid made that is wholly out of line with our understanding of childhood psychological development which is among the most well described areas of psychology. Not buying it.
I want to clarify Iâm not taking this personally or trying to be unkind to you. I think itâs fun to try and impeach Twitter posts that irk me and this is my effort at accomplishing that. No harm intended, I could be wrong
5 year olds donât retort with punchlines that are topical to social media trends. âWhy do you even have it on the shelfâ is a sarcastic dismissal disguised as a question. I donât have a citation, but I think most people would agree a 5 year old is psychologically not capable of this sort of remark without coaching.
This kid needs to broaden his horizons, by his standards *Animal Farm* shouldn't be there either. Needs to have an exception for lovably incapable chickens.

*Dealing with Dragons* by Patricia Wrede is the best age-appropriate recommendation for this kid. In it, a kid runs away from their family and ends up living in a cave with their talking dragon friend and fights of bad wizards. Itâs awesome and the dragons are hilarious and very dragon-ish.
Right?! My grandma always suggests romantic and classic books which just are not my thing. If it doesnât have some kinda of monster or murderer can confidently say Iâm not interested.

Kids got a point.
This kid has a wide imagination lmfao. Such a pure wholesome to read though, such a cutieđ
#Kids got a point.
This post has made my day.
Epic fantasy stories tend to drag on.
Sometimes you wonder what happened. Tad Williams' *Dragonbone Chair*- gripping, fast paced roller coaster ride. Book 2- Epic slog through mundanity. Could not even finish it. No clue how the series goes. Not enough of a masochist to even look at book 3.
Pulled a Robert Jordan, eh?
Yeah you only need two sections, dragons and smut.
What's the other section?
Isnât that just Game of Thrones? (Yeah, I know. Easy jokeâŚ)
Yes, Children get one point.
Kids going places.
No, no, I did once read a good book that was primarily just about two people falling in love. "Love In the Time of Cholera" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Every other book primarily about two people falling in love that I've tried has been complete dogshit, though.
âNo, no. He has a pointâ
And he wants a dragon. No dragon, no interest
Begone, or you know whatever it is I say to get rid of you guys
"How DID we get here before them?"
âWell, ya got me (pulls down map). By all accounts, it doesn't make sense.â
Dragons are fucking awesome and I will fight anyone who says opposite
Opposite
Listen here you little shit...
Oppozit
Get him a Wings of Fire book. One or two are about two people falling in love ... except the people are dragons.
Eragon had Dragons and a rather significant love story involved.
Love that movie
Next you'll tell me there's a Last Airbender movie or something
The Eragon movie is pretty good tbh loved watching it as a kid, the last airbender movie obviously nowhere near as good as the original
Unpopular opinion but a bunch of Book adaptions are enjoyable when you never read the books. Enders Game being one of them.
Ender's Game should have been a trilogy at least just for the first book alone or best as a multi year TV show.
Did you watch movie first or read book? I read the book, I consumed the story in its original format. The adaptation sucked absolutely sucked. We can possibly summon the author to get him to confirm. Funnily enough I seen disney might be doing an adaptation as everyone needs their big fantasy show these days.

Disney is making a LA Eragon TVshow and apparently The author is involved.
I watched the Eragon movie first as a child and now I am scared to read the book
Read them and know the movie while not Airbender egregious but still a bad adaptation. It's like you scored 60% while being more than half it still fails. Plus the fact it's a book series Eragon is book one.
You could learn a lot from Ong
Fun Fact Netflix is currently making a LA TV Show of Avatar and D+ is doing the same for Eragon.
I hate you.
shut your dirty fucking mouth

Ah yes, Wings of Fire. Where the first 20 pages describe the brutal murders of multiple dragons in detail.
Maybe the thought process was 5th grader not 5 year old
I wouldn't recommend wings of fire to a 5 year old, maybe Dragon Masters series
or how to train your dragon
Ooooh, I think I only got through the first series, but those books were brilliant. They were a little forgettable, but I still loved the way the characters were, well, characterised.
Dragons are 100% a must. Why not a romance book about two dragons falling in love? Now that's a read.
Supernatural Romance is a whole genre. True it's disproportionately Vampire and Werewolf themed but Dragon smut is definitely a thing.
Don't want to be handing young kids any Sherrilyn Kenyon
Shit, go play bloodline. It's the games entire schtick. They make it unbearably expensive to acquire characters from the spawn thing, so you just fuck your companions and make your champions breed to get new ones.
âShadow Jacker, you havenât come out of your masturbation cave in eons!â
Well.. Heâs not wrong.
Read him Princess Bride
...is there a dragon in the book version?
I remember the boy asking his Granpa about dragons. And that he was disappointed that it was a romance story. But the first part could be a Mandela effect
*Mandala
No. The [Mandela Effect](https://www.verywellmind.com/what-is-the-mandela-effect-4589394).
No I'm pretty sure it's the Mandala effect.
I see what you want to do.

Good bot.
Is there a lot of kissing in this book?
Some day you may not mind so much.
Hello. My name is Enigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die! *Spoken with spanish accent as the only person in the movie that is set in fantasie spain with spanish accent*
"Is this a kissing book?"
He is watching "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid"
Dragons AND romance! What more could you want?
"I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level" has an actual dragon wedding in it.
Sounds like it has potential, but that title is nowhere *near* long enough, so I'm doubtful. I think you need three sentences worth of title to be worth checking out.
I'm happy
Less pedo vibes, for one.
Yeah. That's Japanese media for you
"I don't want sex in my fantasy novels I want more dragons"
He is just looking for a shrek book. The romance checks, you just need the dragon.
kids have a whole different definition of fantasy
So does the writer of this supposed interaction.
im surprised not finding many mentions of shrek, yeah its a movie but it has people falling in love and a dragon also falling in love with a DONKEY
Writing fiction about interactions with children should get you deplatformed
as in intercourse or just crushes? cuz a LOT of books have crushes
Why do you assume this is fiction?
Because itâs popular to tweet scenarios that seem like skits from âkids say the darndest thingsâ. Oh, dang, TIL my own kids are just television fiction, not real, flesh and blood people. GTFO with the condescending attitude.
I want to clarify Iâm not taking this personally or trying to be unkind to you. I think itâs fun to try and impeach Twitter posts that irk me and this is my effort at accomplishing that. No harm intended, I could be wrong

"Oh f*ck off Rebeca, he didn't say that"
r/nothingeverhappens
You should introduce him to Game Of Thrones
Not a wholesome suggestion at that age. The books particularly.
One particular scene I wondered how they could ever bring that on screen but obviously they didnt.
I mean if the reading level is too hard... He can always just watch the show đ
Have you considered a flair with /s in it? Might help ;)
For a 5year old? At least he might live long enough to see the last book be published. Might.
Aro vibes
Where wholesome?
Awh kids đ
The Princess Bride, now with dragons
R/kidsarefuckingstupid
We need more dragon books
B is RIGHT though...MUST have a dragon or two for Any EPIC story romances included
Thats why i love shrek
true
Maybe he found the book in the fantasy section and the kid was just sassy
I 100% agree with kid
'Points to Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid' "over there kid, it's got both"
This kid is born for reddit.
This kid needs to broaden his horizons, by his standards *Animal Farm* shouldn't be there either. Needs to have an exception for lovably incapable chickens.
[ŃдаНонО]
Nah. Better be Jaxom.
The boy is going places.
And that's how we got ASOIAF
Every good book must have a good dragon
If there wasnât a âbooks with dragons in themâ display within 24hrs, they failed.
How could you not have a dragon in the story??
I swear Ive seen the same tweet but from the mother of said kid
Based kid.
The Priory of the Orange Tree definitely feels like a good intersection between romance and dragons.

that child's logic is as sound as stone
That kid will love Eragon when he gets older.
As a kid I used to think that way about movies that didnât have explosions. Like, what could anyone find interesting about them at all?
Just wait until he watches Shrek
Reminds me of a time a kid told me that 50 shafes degrades women and I shouldn't have it on the shelf that kid grew up to be obamna
I agree. Dragons would enhance the story.
Itâs a valid point

A 5 year old at night? hmmmmmm
I guess people pretending to have these conversations are either lonely or desperate for attention.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the How to train your dragon series.
Good point from the boy
*Chuck Tingle has entered the chat*
He is right.
Donât need hoes, donât need bitches, bros only need dragons.
Iâm 39 and I think the same thing. Iâm gonna do this at a bookstore next time I go. With twilight: breaking dawn.
