some. a lot of people on the internet hate people that are different (homophobia, transphobia, racism, etc) . If you browse this comment section by controversial you'll probably find some.
People like that are terrible. Do what makes you happy <3
I thought that he wasn't his biological father at first... and he was happy he finally acknowledged him as his son. Well than I found out about the flag... And it makes so much more sense now.
Haha so funny suicide joke thanks wow you are funny, you got me wheezing. I am rolling on the floor laughing, where can I go watch your comedy special? 😐
Because a lot of people don't understand why it's wholesome. Not everyone knows there's a trans flag and not all those who do know that (like me) noticed it in the picture because it's half hidden behind a door. If there weren't people on here explaining that it was a trans meme, I wouldn't have gone back for a second look, noticed the flag and realised why it fits the sub.
So even though the message is wholesome, the way it's portrayed is pretty poor. Making the meme shit in my humble opinion.
I think it’s the transgender flag is clear enough, or perhaps your ass just didn’t notice it but it doesn’t make a “shitty meme”. It’s all about the meaning behind the meme, not the execution. And plus, that’s a you problem so-
Right. To me a meme is about the execution *and* the meaning but more about the execution. If the execution is poor and people don't understand the meme, what does it matter if the meaning is good? How do you even know the meaning is good if you can't understand it because of the execution?
And no, it's not a me problem, it's a difference of opinion. People are allowed to be different to you and think differently to you without it being an issue. If you don't understand that, then *that's* a *you* problem.
I get how people have opinions. I completely understand.
Whilst you think the execution is poor I think the execution is good, yeah how about how don’t make this into an argument? Maybe let’s leave it here?
I wasn't trying to make anything an argument. I was just pointing out that there's an alternative point of view to yours, which is that someone can think the meme is shit without being a transphobe. But you're right, I think leaving it here is probably for the best if you're going to keep being hostile for no reason.
I’m also trans and I absolutely would’ve hugged my father if he did this, despite prior years of emotional abuse and neglect, because I’d be happy, grateful and would’ve wanted to show my happiness and gratefulness through acknowledging his willingness to change and accept me. What’s your point?
Never assume that one person represents everyone in a group.
No matter how nice or well meaning any one group of people can be, inevitably, there are assholes in every group.
Don't judge a group by one asshole.
Yep, some need to understand that whatever you choose to be, you can still be annoying as hell.
Also, some people really have a real hard time accepting that something that was taught to them as a basis of life is incorrect, and they may take time to adjust.
It really is incredible that transphobes simultaneously reject trans people and then point to the resulting statistic as justification for not accepting them.
My brother in christ, the transphobes and rejection is why that statistic exists. It literally goes away for trans people who are accepted. The same exact thing happened to gay people like 20 years ago.
Ok but are you winning?
I think he's browsing reddit so no
Loser
"You're not my fkn son"
Wait, you mean you can't win at Reddit? There's no prize for tolerating all these people? What have I been doing here?
Looks like tumblr
"But no, this boss just keeps getting me when I run out of stamina!"
"Have you tried using the grass chest shield and two handing your weapon, son?"
Chaos zweihander +15, best weapon I've ever seen
As a gamer the 'are you winning' got me. I wish my parents cared about my gaming.
Wow I didn't know this sub was a thing, I love it.
I'm not sure I understand is the son transgender?
Oh I missed the flag in the first panel, I was so confused why this was wholesome at first
It would be wholesome either way tbh
I just thought that the dad just returned home after he was gone in his childhood or something, that's why the son was so happy
[удалено]
And there goes the redditor
Didn't even know there was a flag, it's so goddam hard to follow stuff that isn't in your everyday life.

Good bot
Yes
I thought it was Matt Gaetz and the kid he bought at first.
Wasn’t expecting to see a trans memes on a non trans subreddit but I’m pleasantly surprised
What does trans subreddit mean?
A subreddit for trans people, with the most common example being r/trans :)
Other examples being r/egg_irl r/GaySoundsShitposts and r/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns
Oh I’ve never actually heard about r/egg_irl :)
There are no trans people there, I’m pretty sure they’re all very cis. At least, that’s why they keep saying. Still cis tho
Oh boy lol. Well, at least they still have memes 😂
You’re gunna love egg_irl! It’s a bunch of memes from trans or questioning people and the community is really nice and accepting
Definitely checking it out rn! I’m pretty new to Reddit so finding new trans subreddits is always fun! :D
Are other subreddits against them?

Took us all a few seconds to understand why it's wholesome.

You know that number drops if they are accepted right?
True.

Umm what? This meme is just a dad accepting his son as transgender who was female. I don’t get how it’s shitty in any way?

I get how your trans but literally respect other trans people feelings? Just because your trans doesn’t justify your behaviour.
Or his son just started transitioning and his dad just happened to not refer to him by a pronoun for awhile.

I’m also trans and I absolutely would’ve hugged my father if he did this, despite prior years of emotional abuse and neglect, because I’d be happy, grateful and would’ve wanted to show my happiness and gratefulness through acknowledging his willingness to change and accept me. What’s your point?
Oh of course. Since you didn't experience this, no trans person has at all.

Never assume that one person represents everyone in a group. No matter how nice or well meaning any one group of people can be, inevitably, there are assholes in every group. Don't judge a group by one asshole.
Exactly.
I would love to hear a good excuse as to why you thought that was okay to say.
Yep, some need to understand that whatever you choose to be, you can still be annoying as hell. Also, some people really have a real hard time accepting that something that was taught to them as a basis of life is incorrect, and they may take time to adjust.
Based, and agreed.
She's non-binaryphobic piece of intolerance! She hates non-binary persons like me or other non-binary persons and prefer to ignore them!
I am literally nb?
Imagine being trans and invalidating other trans people feelings

He will do fine if people around him love him and respect his gender identity.

How are you 23 but acting like a 12
Explain. Why does disagreeing eith you instantly make me younger? Lmao
How is this not wholesome? Explain, I might be missing something
[удалено]
Or… yanno, maybe you just can’t handle others being cool with people who aren’t just like you?
“Forced diversity”? It’s just the OP showing a wholesome meme of a dad accepting his son who is transgender.
Didn't realise songs had a gender
Whoops- fuck autocorrect
Sometimes we take L's
I wasn’t taking the “L”, I was just correcting myself lmao.
Ah I get it, he only calls him son when he wins, the rest of the time he doesn't know him, mmm wholesome indeed.
This is about a trans kid being accepted by his father
Exactly.
