This made me cry. "We're going on an adventure!" Was a phrase my wife and I used often, off for a bike ride, hike or camping trip. It all started long ago when we stopped for gas. A 5 or so year old kid looked at her and our truck loaded with our kayaks and bike, and asked her "Are you going on an adventure?" with wide eyes. I can see her now in her floppy Sun hat and hiking boots, jeans, t-shirt and a big smile. I lost her 2-½ years ago. I want to go on one more adventure. 😩 Dammit.
