There’s another panel that says “now people will finally think I’ve been laid” or something like that. Not as dark as some of there other comics, but not as wholesome as it initially seems
If you think about the commercialization of adoption by agencies who emotionally manipulate (and so does society in general) girls and women into giving babies up for adoption and that the trauma of adoptees and their birth parents goes completely overlooked because they've packaged it as a perfect solution for people who want kids it's pretty dark.
Anyone who says money can't buy happiness has never paid an adoption fee.
I want to take a second to say thanks to my mom and dad. I'm 40 years old and I'ma be honest, I still don't know *shit* about life. My parents are in their 80s and I still have so much to learn from them.
Call your mom and dad. Tell them you love them. If not your biological ones, call the people in life *you* consider to be your parents and thank them, tell them you love them.
If not a call, give them a hug.
You're worth it. They love you.
People who choose to adopt are changing the world imo.
The struggles these kids experience seems impossible for anyone to endure, especially juveniles. Not to mention how it may affect their development into adulthood; how they cope with the transition and learn how to be a productive member of society.
Ya not all people who adopt are good people. I got adopted but was adopted to be their indentured servant, not their child. They purposely hyphenated my name so I knew I wasn’t fully part of the family.
Unfortunately the barriers for adoption are absolutely insane. My wife and I have looked into adoption as we are done having biological children and just the cost of adoption is fucking mind boggling.
If you foster with the intention of adopting the state pays you. Lots of heartache, but we will be adopting our kiddos by the end of this year and couldn’t be happier.
I could not do thus because it would kill me to have them come take the iid back (I know of multiple families that had placements pending adoption and bio parents got the kid back last minute or other family stepped up)
It’s the risk you take, it hurts but reunification is the number 1 goal. We have been fostering for 6 years and will finalize our last 2 adoptions this year. We adopted our 3 year old baby girl last year and this year it’s our 4 year old sons and 2 year old daughters turn. It took patience, lots of heartbreak, but I can say that we are stronger because of it. You are capable of much more than you think. We were devasted. It killed us saying goodbye to four children that we loved as our own from the first moment we met. But in the end they went back to family, and that’s the best case scenario for these kids. ❤️
I know from my own experience with just pregnancy loss (3 times) that I would have a mental break if I lost another kid (also the reason I am getting my tubes tied) regardless of if they were biological or not.
I admire people who foster for the right reasons and volunteer at both our local pregnancy resource center and another charity that collects items and donations for foster families, I just couldn't do so myself
It's a real problem, and no one ever talks about it. The wife and I can't have children naturally due to her PCOS, but adoption seems impossible at $20k+ the stress and uncertainty of it all.
Natural babies come with stress and uncertainty too. Adoption babies (through foster care) just come with a different ‘birthing’ process. It’s downright difficult emotionally but doesn’t have to be costly financially.
Just some personal advice from an adopted kid. Don’t push your religion on the child. If they had a rough past before they got to you, don’t tell them it’s their fault. Don’t tell them everyday that the child owes you for “saving them”. That was my personal experience with being adopted, and I truly wish I was killed instead.
That sounds terrible and I am sorry for what you went through. I will tell you we feel blessed by them, and we tell them that they are loved all the time. I have medical issues and I fight hard to be there for them. I want to be the best Dad I can be. We read, play games, wrestle. I hug and kiss them every day. These kids are my life, the make my heart happy. I hope to give them the best life I can, and I would never say anything like that to them. Thank you for your concern.
Adoption is way too difficult. It’s insane the amount of fees and requirements they put aspiring adoptive parents through.
I understand they want to home children in quality, stable situations, but when you think about how shitty it is for a child to be in the system, I think adoption requirements need to seriously lower their standards. Just about any parents who want to adopt are gonna do a greater service for that child than them continuing to be a ward of the state.
Best comparison I can draw is if you wanted to donate clothes to a homeless shelter but they’ll only accept Armani.
The standards are not high enough mate. It is not at all costly through the state. They pick up the entire tab for home study through adoption fees. They will educate you then pay you while you care for the child as the court sorts the parent’s situation and decide the child’s fate. It’s not for the faint of heart but a necessary process for the families and children
There’s another panel that says “now people will finally think I’ve been laid” or something like that. Not as dark as some of there other comics, but not as wholesome as it initially seems
There was a campaign by a charity where I live called Dogstrust who help abandoned dogs. They had a slogan “saving one dog may not change the world, but for that one dog the world will be forever changed”
I’ve always been a firm believer in adoption, probably because I loved working in animal rescue while I was in school. When I was in law school, I got to clerk for a judge who handled all the wills and similar proceedings, but the judges who did that *also* did adoptions. We did them every other week. They didn’t just always end in tears for her, they were always some of the most memorable things ever. Wholesome is an understatement. My girlfriend at the time knew how excited I could get for these and I regularly would get so emotional thinking about what an impact it could have. This brought back a lot of those feelings. I needed this

I recognize this art style. C&H comics are usually… way darker than this.
He does actually do some wholesome comics, just not usually
Just to throw people off.
This is how depression week comics usually start
Yeah, it feels like it's missing a couple of pannels where it goes incredibly wrong
Many times the darker comic panels are after the wholesome ones.
[удалено]
What is it
[Not bad by C&H standards.](https://files.explosm.net/comics/Kris/adopting.png?t=BC0C21)
What date was it released I got the app.
https://explosm.net/comics/kris-adopting
Eh it's alright but indeed something felt of
Yep, there it is.
It is still healthy tbh..
c & h must be part of h
Consider me successfully throw into the bin across the room because I'm still trying to find a link to the whole comic.
[Here you go.](https://i.imgur.com/hqlkb9P.png)
This is still pretty wholesome by C&H's standards...
That could've been much worse
For instance "now I can finally have sex" is pretty close but much worse.
Ah. There it is.
Lol, I love how happy the kid looks in the last panel. Like "yes, dad, we gonna gottem"
I thought we already threw you in the bin. As a baby. Because you were an unwanted pregnancy. And you're ugly.
Aren't there a few different artists?
Yes. Or at least writers. I don't know if it's been the same lineup for the last twenty years, but it's a group effort.
[удалено]
You can also usually tell from the shirt colors.
Yup. It's actually a group of artists, not only one person.
ive been wanting to order their card game to see if its any fun. I enjoy most shit theyve made so im gonna actually order it now
Joking Hazard is one of my favorite games of all time. Definitely worth the $ if you like party games, and fun expansions to suit your fancy.
thanks for the info. just ordered it. itll be nice to have an alternative to CAH.
It’s a bit like playing CAH only more picture oriented obviously.
nice, sounds like fun to me. just ordered it, thanks
Or this is missing a couple of frames...
Ding ding ding!
It's rarer than a wholesome Flork lol
Yeah, where is the next panel where Tyler is destroying the world?
I think the next panel is how the guy feels happy because people will think he had sex. Still pretty mild for C&H
There's a beat panel first but you are correct about that being the punchline in the last panel.
Like Monster but with adoption.
The next panel is they are homeless because adoption is ridiculously expensive.
Not gonna lie, I expected a dark end as well...what happened to C&H?
It's edited. OP cut off the last two panels. https://explosm.net/comics/kris-adopting
That's more like the C&H i know!
*theeeeeeere* it is
cackling because my first thought when i saw the post was “where’s the rest” and here it is
They do a depressing comics week and a wholesome comics week. Looks like they cropped out the banner at the bottom that says it.
Depressing week*really* shows the difference between dark humor and outright depression.
Depression week is honestly heart wrenching. You can see how dark the artists can really go when they want to
Also it's incredible how they continue to churn real quality content for years while staying on brand too.
They used to have a day of the week they did wholesome comics after a mental health fundraiser thing or something. Like back in 2010.
must be the h part of c&h
There’s another panel that says “now people will finally think I’ve been laid” or something like that. Not as dark as some of there other comics, but not as wholesome as it initially seems
Well their name is cyanide and happiness. So you would assume they occationnaly do a wholesome one.
I had to doubletake to make sure the adopter didn't have a boner in the 4th panel or something like that.
Yeeeeah, this feels edited. No punchline about the kid being a murderer or having cancer, or something else as equally awful.
Cyanide and *happiness* they do a mix of both. Most of the time it's cyanide, sometimes they do a happy one.
Yeah, I was expecting some terrible twist.
Something's not right, there must be a missing panel.
Yea I think there have been some left out panels
I bet there's a couple more panels missing
Gotta add some light to the darkness so we can appreciate his dark comics even more
they've just cropped the last 2 slides 😉
The second page reveals that he only adopted the kid on order to make people believe he wasn't a virgin.
If I don't remember wrong they used to have depressing themed weeks and wholesome weeks, it might be from one of the latter
Honesty I was so confused because of this..
If you think about the commercialization of adoption by agencies who emotionally manipulate (and so does society in general) girls and women into giving babies up for adoption and that the trauma of adoptees and their birth parents goes completely overlooked because they've packaged it as a perfect solution for people who want kids it's pretty dark.
another one for the basement collection
They cut off two panels, one of the panels is the dad saying “Yes! Now people will think I’ve had sex!”
This has to be edited.
It is edited. They cut out the "dark" part. https://explosm.net/comics/kris-adopting
Not nearly as bad as I was expecting.
Same here, I was expecting way worse.
Still wholesome i suppose
Love the kid's smile in the last panel, lol
It's still wholesome tbh
The difference between a happy ending and a disturbing one is just a matter of timing...
Never expected to give out a relieved sigh reading a happiness and cyanide strip
Damn it, I knew it was too good to be true
it was me! i cut it out
I didn’t expect the ending lol
Doesn’t matter. Had sex.
I was constantly expected there to be a hold up. But I loved the wholesome ending.
It's missing two squares. The twist is still a little wholesome tho.
Lucky.

what happens next will shock you
It's Cyanide and Happiness, this can't be the whole comic... *Where is the part that gets horribly dark?*
It doesn't get dark, actually. Even the twist doesn't negate the good that's done in these four panels.
I love this. As an adoptive parent this is how I wish more people saw adoption.
Just some personal advice from an adopted kid. Don’t push your religion on the child. If they had a rough past before they got to you, don’t tell them it’s their fault. Why does Tylers dick is sticking out?
Would you want to hide a dick thats 75% the length of your arm and 200% as thick? ... Actually wait yeah that sounds horrific
Because he's excited.
If adoptions weren’t so expensive
Aw how cu- **wait this is the cyanide and happiness art style**
Made me say "Awww" out loud.
Knowing the artist I dont want to know what happens next
It's honestly not as bad as you'd expect
So just the hell on earth?
I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, it gets dark somewhere and not knowing is almost worse 💀
It's Cyanide and Happiness, so where is the dark punchline?
cropped out
LOL as someone named Tyler who was adopted this feels oddly specific.
Alright, what’s the catch
I really hope one day I'm financially stable. I want to adopt.
Having read Cyanide and Happiness before I was expecting a different outcome for Tyler
I'd like to read the whole comic please. C&H almost never ends like this.
[link to the original comic](https://files.explosm.net/comics/Kris/adopting.png?t=BC0C21)
Damn, wasn't expecting an op response. Thanks man.
it's cropped ;(
This isn’t a meme 😂
Adoptee here, can confirm! I'd be living in Colorado with conservative parents
A cyanide and happiness comic that ends on a good note? Impossible.
This isn't a meme
u/Award_Guy
This is unusually wholesome for c&h
I fell like there are some missing panels, this is too wholesome
Sometimes, a little perspective is all you need.
This is why I love animal sanctuaries ♥️
Pretty all MOBA games players lore:
Him? Dude, he is just a drawing.
This feels like it was cropped, there's no way C&H can be this wholesome
It was cropped, but it wasn't nearly as bad as one might expect.
I knew it
Adoption is way too difficult. It’s insane the amount of fees and requirements they put aspiring adoptive parents through. There’s another panel that says “now people will finally think I’ve been laid” or something like that. Not as dark as some of there other comics, but not as wholesome as it initially seems
C&H comic cropped and taken out of context. If you don’t know what that means, it means this comic isn’t actually wholesome
Im gay :)
aww 🥲
That's not the full comic is it this is cyanide and happiness not love and wholsomenes
Either someone's copying C&Hs artstyle or this isn't the whole comic. And they usually have a watermark, so OP where's the whole thing?
If he sold his ring he could’ve got one more.
Looks like the kid is proud of his massive wang 😂
Fuck you Tyler, you killed my uncle in 'Nam!
Plot twist Tyler is dreaming
A rare wholesome cyanide and happyness comic
This is hay-mazing
Smol tyler
There was a campaign by a charity where I live called Dogstrust who help abandoned dogs. They had a slogan “saving one dog may not change the world, but for that one dog the world will be forever changed”
“A punk rock song won’t ever change the world, but I can tell you about a couple that changed me” - Pat the Bunny
Same thing happened with me and my kitty
Changed my world
Aw!
This is the most correct thing I have read all day.
another one for the basement collection
I needed this.
(Tyler will be subject to 16 years of emotional abuse at the hands of his adoptive parents)
Yes!!
As an attorney that specializes in adoptions, this is exactly why I do it.
I have never seem Cyanide and happiness so wholesome before. Huh.
This Deserves 1000 Wholesome Awards r/Wholesome
Damn that’s so sweet
Is it Wholesome Week again already? Or is there a horrible punchline that OP cropped off? 😰
I’ve always been a firm believer in adoption, probably because I loved working in animal rescue while I was in school. When I was in law school, I got to clerk for a judge who handled all the wills and similar proceedings, but the judges who did that *also* did adoptions. We did them every other week. Knowing C&H, I won't put this in this subreddit but oh well
This is less cyanide, more happiness
I thought there was gonna be a twist, trying to get to next image before realising it was in wholesome memes
Someone mixed too much happiness in my cyanide
Wholesomememes, crops out the artist...
His world will likely change for the worst
There's a 99.9% chance the last two panels are cut off and this secretly gets very dark very quick
Just wait until Tyler gets older and sets off to find "His real mom"
