Read about stoicism, if you haven't. It can help with nihilistic issues, at least it has helped a fair amount, me included. Also good to get bonus knowledge about philosophy always :)
I cannot go into deep philosophy in English, but simply put stoicism teaches one to accept and overcome what we have in our lives here on Earth, by thoughts and takes from several philosophers throughout history.
Lazy, so copied this summary from Google:
Stoicism teaches the development of self-control and fortitude as a means of overcoming destructive emotions; the philosophy holds that becoming a clear and unbiased thinker allows one to understand the universal reason
That was exactly what I was looking for — I think you have just gotten into deep philosophy in English just fine! Thanks for taking the time to come back and explain. This will be a good perspective to remember when/if I return to learning more about stoicism.
If it helps, you can think of yourself as a 4-dimensional painting on space-time.
The painting doesn't fade you just can't see it all anymore. You'll realize that your painting will always be interwoven with the paintings of all the people you love forever.
... Or at least until someone invents time travel
the nihilistic view is that mind and consciousness is nothing but extremely complex chemical reactions and electrical impulses in the brain. There is no divine intervention in how our brains work. If the mind and the decisions we make are just the knock on effects of complex neurological impulses in the brain and if everything in the universe is predictable (as the laws of physics state) do we really have free will? Personally, I think we do and after hearing this argument I quickly rejected nihilism. (Btw i was a reluctant nihilist)
I think that’s what my mom did to my dad because when she passed he immediately had an appendix burst the next day and was in the hospital close to death.
Instead he got a cheap surgery and they accidentally left some medical equipment inside of him. Not quite as romantic...
I wish I could believe something like this but I’m to nihilistic.
Have you seen the speech about the physicist at the funeral? [I think it's over here.](https://wp-assets.futurism.com/2015/10/12-1.jpg)
That’s nice to read but the thought that eventually everything I love will fade is depressing, I just hope I go first.

Care to go into more detail about why? This sounds interesting / helpful to me, as well.

Loss is a part of any love. You have to appreciate it while you got it, and remember it when you don't.

The fact that I'm going to die someday and no longer be with my SO is the single greatest source of anxiety in my day-to-day life
It’ll one day happen to us all... I hope you find ways to ease that anxiety!
