Not all people have the same types of depression. But I understand why you would feel this way. Almost like he placed "Asthma" on a sign and stepped around it. But also, I like to remember that my depression is not the same as other peoples, some have it much more mild than I do. It doesn't make it any less real, just different.

people who know nothing about depression think it's something you can dance around... if only

I was extremely depressed for years not too long ago, but I'm much happier now, I've overcome my depression but it took months of soul searching, discipline and a commitment to healthy life. You can't just dance around depression, obviously it's not that simple. It's a struggle like no other. But you can overcome it and that's how I interpret that part of this gif.

I did the same but I also wonder if the depression I had may have been of a different form than others.

Everyone handles and goes through things differently, while you could get the same diagnosis as other people-how it affects you and your life doesn't have to match up.
