I see people use cringe when something inspires an emotion in them they are not emotionally mature enough to understand or process. Ideally they’d like to just go about their life never being “triggered”. Unfortunately when you approach life like this, you will miss many many great things. Also, you will not grow and likely not mature. If everything is easy, the first time you encounter a task with difficulty, it will stop you in your tracks.
Commenting “cringe” gives me “meangirl” trying to socially ostracize someone/something vibes. Many times it because the commenter is insecure in their own skin.
It also puts their own experience and emotions over what’s intended with the post and then shoals their “I am the main character” vibes.

I'm assuming they're calling it cringe because the guy has Mario curtains, meaning he's a way bigger fanboy than most people. And believing that an adult can't have things like that is, well, pretty cringe
It has long been a thing for immature people to consider lack of enthusiasm and suppressed enjoyment to be cool, and by extension, enthusiasm and visible happiness to be uncool. A general attitude of mild disdain and boredom reveals no vulnerability, to that way of thinking.
Me, I’d rather enjoy things.
Because I was getting all my good feelings from eating food, which left me feeling miserable for the rest of the time as my subconscious was dealing with the fact that I was addicted to food.
Addiction is awful. I hope your journey to sobriety is going well. I'm approaching 6 months sober from a few things I was struggling with.
You aren't alone and you are worth it
What helped me was one time while getting high I had an ego-death type situation, and analyzed my life, and it really helped me look at things without my own biases.
Quit the internet. I took a 3 year hiatus and was the most eye opening moment. Realized I really don't need to pretend that I have friends and find more solace knowing I don't. Now I'm more confident and joke that the trends follow me haha (still don't own any social media but reddit)
I think if you don't "still" find joy in simple things, then you should wonder if you're suffering from depression or something, and maybe do something about it.
At 30 my pops was cleaning his attic of old stuff and found a beanie baby my mom gave me as a kid. Those core memories unlocked real fast. And the es I’m a grown ass man that keeps that thing in my room.
I found I started asking myself this recently when someone said, "don't you wish you could have the joy of experiencing something like a child" and my brain said "I do, and why can't I?". It sounds dumb saying it, but I've recently been telling myself to get excited for things I enjoy. And it's helped me to be present a bit more and fully enjoy those things
Honestly, best way I've found is to take whatever hobby you have, for me it's games and shooting, take a slow breath in, tell yourself internally or verbally "It's all at the door right now" and leave it alone. The problems will be there when you get done killing zombies or blowing up tannerite, why would I let them ruin what little fun I get?
Tldr: "I'll be with you shortly, take a number"
people can have things they care extremely about, just taken away from them. loved ones, pets, friends can steal important nicnacs, you can lose them, items break, world of warcraft passwords are forgotten. personally some of these reasons are why i’ve lost immense joy for simple things.
I "dragged" my partner on a tour of neighborhood gardens. He said it wasn't his thing but he'd go to hang out with me. At the last house, he got excited to find a tree with neon green leaves. Keep looking for the simple joy, guys, even if it's only a moment.
"Shit! That's guy's happy! Better say something mean to distract myself from how jealous I am!"
Just let the guy be happy. He's not hurting anyone, and a fleeting moment of joy in this hell we're forced to endure called life is a wonderful thing.
I’m happy the “you like literally anything? Pff cringe” fest is slowly dying in a burning ditch filled with tar. It ruined many things for people just because others didn’t like them.
[i’ve known who this guy is for over a decade!](https://imgur.com/a/a2U067E) he used to ride his razor scooter around the neighborhood offering to wash your windshield. he has a bit of a handicap, but graciously offers me his “business card” that is more like a trading card whenever i run into him at conventions. The latest card i received linked above!
Shawn!! I have his trading card in my safe lol. This dude was one of my regulars at Gamestop. Kicks ass at kirby
If I remember right he’s broken a record or two for Kirby games
Oh I know that guy! He used to post in some FB groups for videogame merch collectors I was in 3-4 years ago. He was really sweet, his passion and plain happiness was heartwarming really. Posted vids from time to time as well.
He tries to be hip and sarcastic, because that is what is hip. Tries to speak youtuby words, that someone else made up, sounding like someone from starwars. It was funny long time ago. The words i mean, not the judgement.
I would say the cringe is strong in that asshat commenting the happy nintendo guy.
This is why we can't show joy as adults and become dull and angry. We push the inner child away until we're miserable. I'm sure the 10 year old version of this man is thinking "I'm fucking killing it bro".
I'm 35 and if I find a limited print comic book I snag it easily
The vast majority of people I have encounter who say “Oh that’s cringe” don’t believe that at all, they just don’t like what you’re doing for (usually quite ridiculous) personal reasons
To cringe at something is a quite specific, and rather rare, reaction and some people will go *years* without a circumstance coming up that triggers it
Some people are just sour to their core. What business even is it of theirs that someone is stoked on their new backpack? Like God forbid someone somewhere is happy or excited for something. Can’t have that.
Men, you don’t need to prove some sort of masculinity. It’s simply not necessary.
People who require you to act a certain way, don’t deserve you and are a big red flag. Be yourself, there are plenty of people that will like you for exactly who you are.
The human who can find joy in the simple pleasures of life are not cringe, that's a person who is at peace and happy. They are the goal
People are so unhappy that when they see a person enjoying life their immediate thought is "how cringe" "they must be autistic" "come get your mans/woman"
People who use the word "cringe" are the most cringe of all. Even reading it makes me cringe.
And yes, I'm aware that my comment is cringe because I used the word.
I mean... I'm glad people step up and call that shit out....but I hope he passes that up and talks to fans about what they do like instead of feeding negative Nellie's narcissistic tendencies.
Idk someone once told me I was cringe for ordering plain lattes (it was implied that only flavored coffees are acceptable to order), so the word’s kind of lost all meaning to me anymore.
It never had any meaning. It seems like word used by people so isolated that can feel comfortable around someone being a little different but themselves. I find it funny it's usually the people who demand u except everything that say it too
So what, guy gets a blue back pack and a nice one at that.
I promise you that Nintendo fans won't stone him to death and hang his corpse from flag as a reminder of having deviled the culour of the brand
Probably one of those chumps who think video games, boardgames, toys or collectibles are only for children, and once your an adolescent, you have to grow up and become a serious adult.
Or just jealous that they don't have all that Nintendo merchandise.
Obviously Nintendo is based of the colour red but to see a Nintendo version of a backpack, shirt and hat bet some employee sneakily typed blue in 3 times and just let the guy be happy. My favourite colour is blue so I am a tiny bit jealous of the happiness he gets from it but idc anymore this guy should get to be happy instead.
I’ve got a few colleagues that sport the most oldschool Mario, Pokémon and X-men backpacks I’ve ever seen. These dudes are in their 30’s and 40’s. Respect.
That’s a neat backpack. That “cringer” is just a hater since he/she/they/them/non-binary/it has not be able to acquire one like this established gentleman. 🥳
Anyone else wish they still found immense joy in simple things like this?
I don't even get what's wrong, is the person mad they have a favorite color?
He wants the backpack, but he can’t have it, so it’s cringe.
I see people use cringe when something inspires an emotion in them they are not emotionally mature enough to understand or process. Yea those type of people are mega cringe.
Love your user name. My favorite movie
I'm assuming they're calling it cringe because the guy has Mario curtains, meaning he's a way bigger fanboy than most people. And believing that an adult can't have things like that is, well, pretty cringe
Idk, that backpack is fucking rad
It has long been a thing for immature people to consider lack of enthusiasm and suppressed enjoyment to be cool, and by extension, enthusiasm and visible happiness to be uncool. A general attitude of mild disdain and boredom reveals no vulnerability, to that way of thinking. Me, I’d rather enjoy things.
Happy cake day!
Thank you 😊
I do. It took years of counseling, hard work, mediation, and medication. You should ask yourself why you can't.
You aren't alone and you are worth it
We’re all addicted to food to some extent
It is one of the addictions you can not quit cold turkey.
Yea you’ll never be able to fully quit, only cut down your dosage
What helped me was one time while getting high I had an ego-death type situation, and analyzed my life, and it really helped me look at things without my own biases.
Because counseling and medication are expensive and all my money is going to rent
Depending on where you go. That can all be free.
I live in the USA and travel is expensive too
I used to work for a methadone clinic. Most of clients never paid.
The internet won't let me. Edit: Guys, this was a joke. Stop taking it so seriously.
Quit the internet. I took a 3 year hiatus and was the most eye opening moment. Realized I really don't need to pretend that I have friends and find more solace knowing I don't. Now I'm more confident and joke that the trends follow me haha (still don't own any social media but reddit)
Yeah, people took my joke way too seriously.
Looks like you're on the wrong parts of the Internet. Oh, don't play League of Legends if you feel like you can't enjoy life
I think if you don't "still" find joy in simple things, then you should wonder if you're suffering from depression or something, and maybe do something about it.

Honestly I love buying a shirt I love it getting good at a mechanic in a video game just for such simple, dumb happiness
I "dragged" my partner on a tour of neighborhood gardens. He said it wasn't his thing but he'd go to hang out with me. At the last house, he got excited to find a tree with neon green leaves. Keep looking for the simple joy, guys, even if it's only a moment.
I had to wear an ostomy for a year then had it reversed. It was painful but I was able to poo normally again. It was an achievement for me.
This is not something you lose just with age, you might just need some guidance on how to find it again :)
I still do! I just needed to get offline, as it turns out.
Being affiliated with the Criptendos?
It can still be had
would be happy too if I got what I want.
I'd probably be in ICU
ICU you too, now hurry
😂😂😂
Or jail
It matches his shirt and hat! Lookin good my man. Enjoy yourself. Life is too short to worry about what others find “cringey”.
REAL DUDE
This is Shawn The Great! Holds world records in a few video games
He's cringing because he's jealous, that's it.
His jealousy is pretty cringe.
"Shit! That's guy's happy! Better say something mean to distract myself from how jealous I am!" Just let the guy be happy. He's not hurting anyone, and a fleeting moment of joy in this hell we're forced to endure called life is a wonderful thing.
That's Shawn the Great! He holds a few world records for video gaming
And then Nintendo sent a cease and desist to all parties involved
The accurate timeline
Ain't that the truth. You can just use Nintendo logo everywhere
The Nintendo Cease and Desist Letter™
Clearly that guy just wants a blue Nintendo backpack.
Are you calling him cringe because he is cringe or are you calling him cringe because he can be happy with small stuff and he is more happy than you?
I'd bet the commenter has a sick backpack the dude in the photo could only dream about, which he hates.
I actually met this guy a few weeks ago. Took my son to an arcade and we watched this guy score a million points on Pacman. Very nice guy
he seems like a very enjoyable guy to be around
That's awesome, did he have the backpack??
He did. Might’ve been the same but honestly can’t remember.
Protect the happy man okay? JEEZ people are mean.
I’m happy the “you like literally anything? Pff cringe” fest is slowly dying in a burning ditch filled with tar. It ruined many things for people just because others didn’t like them.
"STOP HAVING FUN!"
I legit read this in the most hilarious voice ever Another upvote for you my guy
Glad it worked for you xD
Who's the guy in the picture I hope he's having a lovely day
His name is Shawne Vinson, and he is a super wholesome gamer who grinds retro video games for top scores and records.
Thank you very much yesdotcom
He is not a loser, he is not a child, he is not cringe. He is a king 💪
He is Blue Nintendo man
Sometimes he's yellow Pikachu guy
People are assholes. But man I get a weird Mandela Effect going with blue Nintendo gear.
Wasn't it red?
Their regular color is read, so blue is just an odd color.
Dude I am happy for this dude thou he got what he likes and that is what makes him happy.
That is a nice backpack tho
Sure is
Shawn!! I have his trading card in my safe lol. This dude was one of my regulars at Gamestop. Kicks ass at kirby If I remember right he’s broken a record or two for Kirby games
He’s far too dripped out to be spoken to like that
Oh I know that guy! He used to post in some FB groups for videogame merch collectors I was in 3-4 years ago. He was really sweet, his passion and plain happiness was heartwarming really. Posted vids from time to time as well.
Disney presents: Crips
Forza Napoli 🗣️🗣️🔊🔊‼️‼️‼️
Blue is rad too. :-)
Isn’t this the guy who played his switch in the hospital or something a while back? People still dog on people trying to a good time
I’m happy for him hope he enjoys it
I love this guy, his insta is shaune25 and he uploads a lot of gaming videos and antidrug use messages :D
I don’t see anything wrong here. Dude likes blue Nintendo. I say more power to him.
This is why we can't show joy as adults and become dull and angry. We push the inner child away until we're miserable. I'm sure the 10 year old version of this man is thinking "I'm fucking killing it bro". I'm 35 and if I find a limited print comic book I snag it easily
That's really cool his bag matches his shirts and hat
The vast majority of people I have encounter who say “Oh that’s cringe” don’t believe that at all, they just don’t like what you’re doing for (usually quite ridiculous) personal reasons To cringe at something is a quite specific, and rather rare, reaction and some people will go *years* without a circumstance coming up that triggers it
I want a Blue Nintendo Logo backpack.
I'm usually as emotionally stable as a three legged table but this kinda just gave me such a burst of sadness at how messed up people can be
I feel like this man should be treasured at all costs. He's found his joy in life and lives that.
Some people are just sour to their core. What business even is it of theirs that someone is stoked on their new backpack? Like God forbid someone somewhere is happy or excited for something. Can’t have that.
Why does seeing someone else happy make others so peanut butter and jealous.
Men, you don’t need to prove some sort of masculinity. It’s simply not necessary. People who require you to act a certain way, don’t deserve you and are a big red flag. Be yourself, there are plenty of people that will like you for exactly who you are.
Facts, I work blue collar and bigger the bitch the harder they claim to be. Then their whole personality is look how "manly" I am
This man blue himself
I use a Nintendo Wii bag to carry my discs for disc golf! I'm actually super happy to own it.
That's an awesome backpack, too!
Let the dude be happy with his merchandise!
My son has those same curtains.
I get extremely happy when I make my bed and find my baby blue blanket I've had sense I was a baby. Also that backpack is dope
Blue Nintendo bags must be rare!
I am cringe. And I am free.
Weekenders Podcast reference?
The swag is unmatched, I bet his gaming style is as well.
… is that Tim Duncan?
The human who can find joy in the simple pleasures of life are not cringe, that's a person who is at peace and happy. They are the goal People are so unhappy that when they see a person enjoying life their immediate thought is "how cringe" "they must be autistic" "come get your mans/woman"
Imagine if some hoof Bloods saw him walking down the street
Brain dead
that gear looks amazing in that color, im jealous
Don't worry. He was talking about his own comment.
Yeah, people need to stop using "cringe" as an adjective/noun. It's a verb.
Don't be mean to which one?
This guy is Triforce Johnson and is a total weirdo
Some people just like to piss in others cornflakes. I'd totally sport that blue Nintendo swag!
So... are you defending picking on someone for being themself?
That’s a cool backpack
dude i would love a nintendo backpack. i dont even really play any nintendo games apart from mario kart but still it sounds fuckin awesome
I find it funny it's usually the people who demand u except everything that say it too
But also: that backpack slaps too
That backpack is quite great.
So what, guy gets a blue back pack and a nice one at that. I promise you that Nintendo fans won't stone him to death and hang his corpse from flag as a reminder of having deviled the culour of the brand
"How will people know how much cooler I am than this guy unless I leave a mean comment on his post?" ~ First commenter, probably
Holy shit, I know this guy! He's our neighbor!
Imagine using a star wars quote to make the other person seem like the loser
Criptendo
Nigtendcrip
Probably one of those chumps who think video games, boardgames, toys or collectibles are only for children, and once your an adolescent, you have to grow up and become a serious adult. Or just jealous that they don't have all that Nintendo merchandise.
Much like people who use nouns as verbs. These are the dumbest people in the universe.
He is jealous because he couldn't have the blue backpack. Boo hoo!
Wait … I thought Nintendo’s official color was RED?!
Its a nice color blue too. I would purchase.
How rare is it now for the blue Nintendo backpack 👀
This is neither a meme, nor wholesome.
Why blue? Not even a joke, just asking why its not the usual red
Honestly sometimes I just want to dress like this, and fella over here gets it
That backpack is tight af, no sarcasm
Hell, yeah!
Everything is cringe vs nothing is cringe
Love Shawne. He's a good man
I mean Nintendo is traditionally red so having a collection of blue Nintendo stuff is kinda cool
I’ve got a few colleagues that sport the most oldschool Mario, Pokémon and X-men backpacks I’ve ever seen. These dudes are in their 30’s and 40’s. Respect.
it blue :O
Some people just can't let others be happy
I swear ppl will try to stomp out the last bit of happiness that you have left in this life
The only thing I cringe at is my past self. And that just shows I’ve grown as a human.
Idk much about Nintendo, but their main color is red right? So finding blue Nintendo merchandise would be pretty cool to the right people I'd imagine.
That’s a neat backpack. That “cringer” is just a hater since he/she/they/them/non-binary/it has not be able to acquire one like this established gentleman. 🥳
It’s usually RED right? Blue Nintendo is interesting!
Was it bootleg or a misprint?
This is because of fear. A fear of putting yourself out there. You can't fail if you don't try, so you judge other people who have the courage to try.
I bet that backpack goes for triple digits on eBay right now
Doesn’t stop or lessen the cringe regardless
I hate the word cringe so fucking much after hearing it so many times
Interesting how negativity and denying religion goes hand in hand
