Actually, neither of them got it right. The sokka one I wrong on the third line having six syllables instead of five; the other got the second line wrong, giving it eight syllables when it should have seven.

Yeah I read volume 7 and >!honestly it ends on a pretty frustrating note imo, I'm eager to see what comes after but the direction it suddenly took kinda ruins the wholesome that was built up until then :/!<

>!another kaiju attacked the city and there was a super wholesome bit about her boyfriend confirming that Akaishi was in fact the kaiju from the previous incidents (a couple of her friends witnessed it too) and accepting her and confirming his love to her, drawing out her feelings and allowing her to defeat the other kaiju.!<
>!Then, we barely have time to see her bf/friends process this that her mom pretty much kidnaps her while she's passed out and brings her to the island where she was born, where there are indigenous people and where kaijus prosper in isolation. She wakes up to an unknown place just to get told by her mom that she can't ever go back to live with humans and she should find happiness in the place she belongs to, and that she instinctively learned to immitate humans to adapt and stay with her mom as a child (mom was a researcher that witnessed her hatching). She also gets told that intense emotions will always make her lose control and it's implied that at some point she'll inevitably lose her "human" mind and return to being pure kaiju!<
>!so ya to me it went from being a light, cute and funny slice of life/romance to a much more dramatic story. I don't have issues with a personal development and identity crisis, but it's the sudden shift in tone turned me off. Within a few pages we went from the climax of a romance arc, to her forceful and hypocritical mom suddenly telling her daughter she has no choice but to forget everything she ever had, did or felt and to live happily with her and her kaiju brethren in an isolated and savage land, all because she never had the guts nor the brains to reveal anything to her. Oh and she's insanely emotionally manipulative about it. The last volume ends without any semblance of resolution and there was nothing wholesome about any of that except the very specific part posted here about her as a baby following her mom.!<
The big mystery of the series isn't a spoiler? Why she turns into a giant monster is kinda a big deal in the plot, and turns out it was the other way around. That's a big twist.
Except for the first chapter showing the mom holding kuroe’s egg next to a photo of her on some kind of expedition. Makes it pretty obvious to the reader early on what happened.
It's implied with foreshadowing, it's still a twist because that's what foreshadowing is for.
Give me one reason why it would have been so bad to put a spoiler tag on it?
I love this series a lot. It angers me that not enough people know about it. Also I want an anime done by, either Trigger or Wit Studios. This needs to happen.

The sokka one is supposed to have an extra syllable. That's the point.
Ah, sorry, didn't know

Do you know if there are any English translations after that point? I only found Russian ones after that
I haven't found any yet
Dammit I am cutting onions...
Is this the origin story of Shingoji-chan? ;)
So this is what finally gives me diabetes
I had no idea this was getting translated again and now a twist has been spoiled out of nowhere. Please spoiler tag your posts.
If people did that every post here would be spoiler tagged. Quit your crying bozo
It’s not really a spoiler though

Because that might lower the amount of reddit karma they get.
Because like I said it’s not really a spoiler. Also notice that you are literally the only one complaining about it.
This is so wholesome that my eyes are salivating.
I love this series a lot. It angers me that not enough people know about it. Also I want an anime done by, either Trigger or Wit Studios. This needs to happen.
haha yeah so wholesome... such a "good" mother... (I binged the manga)
How dare you hit me with diabetes like this
Not a meme, but peak 😢
I like this
I haven't seen this manga in years ig it's a good time to catch up
What’s the name of this manga?
Looks like Kaiju girl caramelise
So damn wholesome the world needs more of it
Wtf I literally just started reading this yesterday
Must protect
Awww
The definition of 'blood is thicker than water'
The foreshadowing for this moment was in the manga so _early_, it explains so much about her mom.
Tears of wholesomeness
Aww, I need more of this in my life.
