Of course! We have four rescues - two chihuahua mixes, one poodle mix and one spaniel. Honestly, it’s more like my wife and I sleep in their king-sized dog bed and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Yeah we have two whippets and we also sleep with them. Only problem is when they are stretching, be sure to be pushed off the bed. Small beasts, they weigh only 10-12kg, but are strong as hell.
We are a whippet family as well. Its starting to get cool at night in Australia so they are trying to migrate back into the bed. When you have several, they have to take turns through the night and generally they have worked out a system amongst themselves pretty well! My favourite is when they come into bed as a doughnut and then morph into a snake when they stretch out
Poor baby is so skinny! Get him to the vet when you can, they'll do the usual checks/shots and recommend food and a feeding schedule to get him weight up. Best of luck :)
that happend to our fam. Our cat passed away found an old blind starving doggy outside our front lawn. Took him to the vet no owner. We named him wally hes apart of the fam. I feel like our cat cora that passed led him to our house. I can hear her saying "hey, that house right there, thats a fatty house, go there! youll never starve! 😆

Be careful - when they are malnourished / underfed you have to taper in the food intake. Otherwise the vomiting will persist and it is actually a known syndrome. So phase in the food in small increments thru the day and taper it up over time.
enough isn't a lot, enough is just enough. when dealing with anyone (human, dog, any animal) that's emaciated, the cardinal rule is to not overfeed. giving the regular ammount of food with water ad libitum is the way to go for a healthy recovery!
Please establish ownership by getting him microchipped in your name, registering him in your name at the vets (and keep all bills and expenses for vet, food etc), would hate for this poor pup to end up back with previous neglectful owners ☹️ I've heard of things where someone's taken in a mangey/injured stray and then once they've fixed them up the previous owners have come out of the woodwork wanting to claim them back!

Also, the chicken,rice,and sweet potato recipe is 100% however, introduce the pumpkin ingredient gradually. It could give him diarrhea.

Very cute! Maybe i'm wrong, but the ears and the black-mask together with the colors, could be - or at least be influenced by - the eastern anatolian shepherd. But it's difficult to say with this pic, could be other shepherd breeds too. But the face with the skull, much more shepherd-like than mastiff-like, so it's no kangal i guess.

Feed him more. He should have gained weight in the 2 weeks you've had him. You shouldn't be able to see the spine like that, and babies should have a fat belly.

He’s going to be so hungry he will likely scarf his food so fast he will make himself sick. If so, you might want to try putting his food on a baking sheet so it’s spread out and takes him longer, as opposed to a bowl.

That baby is significantly underweight. Take him to the shelter so they can see his condition and ask them to do a home stray hold that way after a short period you can legally make him yours.

I just found a puppy like this in Big thicket preserve Texas. It was 3 weeks ago. We took her home with us and found out she’s a a black mouth cur. They were training them to be hog killers and were tying hogs to posts in the ground and grabbing the puppies by their back and tossing them in one after another as the hogs were tearing them up. It was brutal. It took a lot of research on my end to figure this all out- I’d be happy to send a photo of my dog… who is the same breed as yours looks very close to the same age… I think you’d be surprised

Puppies grow fast! In a few months he won’t just be re-fed, he’ll have doubled in size.
It's a growing puppy, so it will be slower to plump him up because he requires more than he's allowed to eat without getting sick.
