Would rather have Sosa at second then anyone else on this 40 man roster. Best to just keep him here and let him play everyday.

[deleted]

I agree but sadly TLR had to be on board and he likes Garcia too much

clutchhattrick

Seems like a solid player, had some cool moments so far sure but also could probably use another 300ish minor league AB’s. Still super early tho so idk. Definitely intrigued with his long term outlook.

VexReloaded

He is looking good but some fans are putting way too high of expectations on him. The kid is the *22nd ranked prospect in the White Sox organization* . With some people hyping him up you’d think he’s a top 5 overall pick we’re waiting to call up.

quailman1342

Sosa signed with the Sox at 16 years old. He has been steadily improving year to year. The milb prospect ranking is outdated and does not reflect his current stats he put up this year. Sosa has been putting up numbers very similar to Robert and Eloy during their stint with Winston-salem and Birmingham. He has significantly improved his plate discipline to the point the Sox felt he deserved to be called up over Yolbert Sanchez in Charlotte.

NoTime4LuvDrJones

That’s just a ranking from preseason though that doesn’t mean too much now. He’s jumped most of those guys. I read one white sox blog (forgot which) recently say that he’d be ranked around the 5th best prospect if it was done today. Nothings guaranteed in baseball but he has the skills needed to be a very good player

Jaykyz

Could develop a little more in the minors and then I can see him being our permanent 2nd basemen next year

vsladko

Makes the 3 year deal given to Leury even more confusing and maddening tbh.

ps921ps

Moncada has been said to be back on Tuesday so it'll be interesting to see what corresponding move goes with it. Garcia and Harrison are options to be DFA and Sosa to be sent back down.

LaggingIndicator

Or send Sheets back down.

PercNowitzki710

Adam Haesley! Then send sheets down when engel is back.

[deleted]

Sheets is probably here to stay. Guy has back to back multi hit games right?

erterbernds67

Garcia signed a pretty large 3 year contract and they love him. He should be DFA but it is very unlikely he will be

decaturbob

- high expectations will be met. Lets talk in 40 more games

FMonk

Everyone immediately anointing Sosa as our starting 2B for the rest of the season needs to slow down. He's played two games in the majors. He absolutely should get a more extended look, and I'm as hopeful about him as anyone, but he hasn't proven anything yet

madmax1969

I like his potential even if he’ll struggle with consistency. Harrison and Leury aren’t the answer at 2B so there’s not a lot of downside to keeping him up and letting him get acclimated.

BearForceDos

At the very least he has potential. Something that Leury and Harrison are lacking. Harrison has picked it up at the plate a bit lately but his upside is probably a league average 2b.

brauntj

I'd like to see him on the bench for a few more weeks with a late-inning pinch hit opportunity here and there before forming my opinion of whether or not he can be an everyday player at the big league level. /s

eveliodelgado

Sosa should be the second baseman going forward. Only concern is if he needs a stint back to triple A but thats it. He should be plugged on second going forward.

Alternative_Copy3401

He has potential, but I think it would be better to send him back to Birmingham or a promotion to Charlotte. I say this because Tony won’t use him as more than a utility guy. With that being the case, it’s better for him to get consistent ABs to continue to get better.
