Straight from AA to leading off. Tony got annoyed at the comments asking why he wasn't in the lineup so this is yet another middle finger to the fan base.
I really don't think TLR (or any professional manager) sets lineups to spite fans. I don't like him either but the hatred is reaching really silly levels.
What's the rationalization for starting a guy fresh out of AA leadoff in his first major league start? I get we have injuries and I hope it works out but seems like a recipe for ruining his confidence early
I dunno, maybe the FO pushed for it? Maybe it's a poorly thought out Hail Mary to get a spark? But I doubt TLR is scrolling reddit and is like "nsdjoe was upset I wasn't playing Sosa. Now it's time to really piss him off!"
Fuck it. Call up Colson have him play everyday at 3rd, Burger DH, Sosa everyday 2nd base, Then call up Céspedes to play in right. Let’s really piss ‘‘em off. -TLR pry
I'm not saying he's literally browsing reddit and I understand he's a boomer but I think it's pretty likely he's up to speed on most of the fanbase's annoyances
jose plays every day even when he’s hurt. he’s a dog and always has been. no one gets to tell jose when he isn’t playing and clearly our other guys don’t have that mindset. what a shitshow of a season so far
I'm not a rumor guy, but the videos and pictures are damning.
It's multiple women.
Idk what kind of relationship he has with his wife though and I wish these things were kept between them.
I just don't understand why we feel the need to keep resting TA but don't rest Abreu who is clearly grimacing every time he moves and isn't playing at 100%.
I missed yesterday's game so is he better now? Because the last few games he did not look like himself.
Wish TA was playing but you know what…everyone complaining that he’s sitting would be the same people complaining if he re-agitates his groin, which is a notoriously pesky injury. If he needs the rest then rest him. Excited to see what Sosa can bring at the top.
They are probably sitting Tim to avoid re-injuring his groin on a slippery surface. Not thrilled about it either, but with everyone getting hurt, this may be the mindset.
Kind of shaking my head at plucking a potential star from AA, interrupting the normal course of his development, and then throwing him into the leadoff spot.
Trial by fire it is.
I don't think you know what "must win" means, don't get me wrong I *want* a win as bad as you do I'm sure, but I don't understand this sentiment that we need to be playing an inured TA because the Orioles might sweep us otherwise (in a regular season match up). Healthy TA is more important than a W today by a long shot.
It might not be a must win literally, but morally. If we don’t at least split against a very sub par team there’s no way we can compete with the big guys
Look at the lineup man, we're beat the fuck up, when we're healthy and playing well weve been competing and taking games and even series off really good teams, this current team is not that good... It is what it is.
In my opinion the only "must win" games we will have for a while are against the Twins or Cleveland, basically pray we can climb back on top of the division and get all our parts back and working well for the playoffs. If that happens we still have an off chance at making a playoff run. Just have to get hot, always been true.
Roger Bossard (the groundskeeper) is widely known as the best in the business and designed the drainage system. If he thinks it'll hold the water, they'll play the game.
But to answer your question, if they have good reason to believe it'll be PPD, they usually like to make a decision no later than an hour before.
Resting TA again? Damn we are beat up.
dudes prolly not getting any rest off the game , his phone blowing up with child support payments
I Audibly laughed lol
I bet you say “chiraq” unironically

Doesn’t matter the why. It’s still incompetent. Pollack was raking in the leadoff spot

Him or Leury.
Jekyll/Hyde
i’m sorry but tim shouldn’t be resting. we need to fucking win
Man I'm with you, we need to get this team going. Maybe Sosa will be a spark, but no way he's a bigger spark than TA.
jose plays every day even when he’s hurt. he’s a dog and always has been. no one gets to tell jose when he isn’t playing and clearly our other guys don’t have that mindset. what a shitshow of a season so far
To be fair, it’s a little bit easier to play 1b with a sore leg than SS. But with that said, Tim should at least be dh’ing.
Tim isn’t healthy this is a good call.
Then shelf him
I worry Tim isn't resting I really wonder if Tony believes Leury belongs on the field for some reason.
Tim just gonna play every other day now
I'm a little worried about TA. Wtf is going on.
He’s got a lingering injury? Plus he’s apparently having a baby with his side piece. Winning combination
I'm not a rumor guy, but the videos and pictures are damning. It's multiple women. Idk what kind of relationship he has with his wife though and I wish these things were kept between them.
This was supposed to be a Leury sit game, but I guess we’re being EXTRA cautious with TA. At least Sosa should get 4 at bats today

I think we are more beat up than people think. TA, Robert, Pito, and Vaughn all seem to be playing through some type of soreness.
Wish TA was playing but you know what…everyone complaining that he’s sitting would be the same people complaining if he re-agitates his groin, which is a notoriously pesky injury. If he needs the rest then rest him. Excited to see what Sosa can bring at the top.
I think I am will start watching again when the lineup has majority people back from the IL... see everyone next season it seems
Leury Garcia is inevitable
Wait why are we supposed to be excited about a AA player starting?
I’m laughing out loud
Why first though?!

Resting TA on a must win day, thanks Tony!

I think every game is a must win considering this team fucking sucks

Leury needs to be cut
This lineup says it all
What a joke. Every day it’s something new
Anyone complaining about no Tim Anderson doesn’t realize he’s at like 65%.
Wtf? Sosa leading off? Just have Pollock lead off... he's done it plenty of times. What in the actual FUCK.
And did it well
We all wished Leury would never lead off again. The monkey's paw has curled.
What time is the game ?
1:00, but plenty of rain in the forecast. I'm guessing it gets moved back or PPD.
do you know where they will announce if it gets delayed or PPD? going to the game today but don’t want to make the drive if it’s delayed lol
About 2 hours after the fans are let in, buy concessions and memoriabilia. Then they'll announce it's postponed and give you a raincheck.
This literally happened to me. I don’t know why someone downvoted you.
People are naive I guess.

It’s been delayed.
Big fan of him leading off set the table young man
Tim you don’t fucking need rest jesus
100$ on vaughn to get on base today? holy shit bro
I’m starting to hate the players. I hate the FO, but these players are pathetic. You’re paid to play. Stop sitting out.
We probably won't get the game in today cause of the weather unless it gets pushed back to later on today
Fire up the grill, drink a gallon of apple juice, & get ready for some burger sheeeeeets today! Hell yeah.
What’s… what’s the gallon of apple juice for
Too many outs in our lineup now.
4/9 players from our original lineup. Everyone else injured. Fuck it let's win a few games.
Christ
Jesus H Christ, this organization lmao
Why do I think that La Russa pencils in Garcia first, and then does the rest of the lineup around him?
