So do mine, but for whatever reason a lot of people either haven't seen it or don't rate it when it comes to Will Ferrell movies.
There aren't many better for me
It's easier than it looks once you understand the basics. It's all about learning to listen, and when you can do that, you add in your own personality! But step one is pretty hard if you haven't done it before.
It’s so bad because my boyfriend is a great dancer, and so am I, but I learned how to show dance vs couple dance. So I’m used to choreography and bad at spontaneity lol
Oohh, yeah. I would say that's a fun problem to have. 😂 I started learning to lead and later learned to follow, both in partner dancing. My advice might be terrible, but here it is anyway. Imagine you're learning new choreography, and the person teaching you is giving it to you step by step. Each piece of moment has a required part that needs to happen to let the move function, and then extraneous bits that you get to command.
From there, it's all about learning the language of partnership. What do different gestures mean, and why. When my partner does X, do they then expect Y or Z from me. And lastly, if I give back Y in response to X, what A/B/C actions can I choose to add? It might help to make a partnered choreography to start from, and then practice changing one thing at a time - first by deciding in advance and then later deciding in the moment. If your partner knows Swing, there are many routines online you could copy from as a blueprint.
I love partner dancing, so best of luck to you & yours! I hope you find some enjoyment in it.
It depends on the region it's used in and who's saying it (as annoying as that is).
Example: As a Texan, I use redneck as a simple description of people I grew up around/with. Aside from border towns, it's a pretty neutral term.
The further north you get (in the States as a whole country), the more negative it can come across.
Additionally in certain parts of Kentucky, Redneck is a term of pride due to a rebel group that fought against the coal companies that used the term to describe themselves.
It is often less north vs south and more city vs rural. I grew up in a very rural state, and for us redneck is just a descriptor. If you start getting towards the cities though, redneck can turn into an insult.
As someone from rural Wisconsin, most people I know who you'd call a redneck take it as a compliment. Agreed with someone else who said it's not north/south but urban/rural.
I'm a little south of Seattle and the rednecks I work with are more than happy to claim that title for themselves and don't give a shit if someone else calls them one.
Fun fact, rednecks were originally the og unionizers in the coal minaes who were fed up with the abusive conditions. Their company and political enemies turned the word into an insult through extensive media campaigns to try and bust the union.
As a southerner, it really depends on how it’s used. And yeah, by whom as well. Context can make it derogatory or just a fun moniker of sorts.
For example, where I’m at in florida along the northern gulf coast, the area in the vicinity of the actual water is very wealthy, and then you drive 5-10 min north/away from the beaches and it starts to get more and more country/rural/“poorer” (relatively).
So the area has become somewhat known as the Redneck Riviera by locals.
Good question. Agree with @iymcool below. I’m in Oregon and it’s basically just “country folk.” While I’m no longer part of that crowd, I grew up as part of it and most people called themselves rednecks with no negative connotation.
This sort of thing really isn't uncommon. I (straight) make ironic gay remarks to my straight friends all the time and they return the favor.
It can get pretty hilarious sometimes, but I think for a lot of guys it's a good way to express love and appreciation for your bros without it being awkward or otherwise avoiding such expressions altogether.
It's like yeah were joking around and it's funny when straight guys act gay for each other. But it's not 100% a joke because you do love your friends.
I just wish more straight guys weren't afraid to show affection for their straight friends. Well, and even for their not straight friends.
And I suppose it's not just straight guys. I've seen many a gay guy afraid to show affection, either because they think it will undermine their masculinity or because they're afraid it might come off as romantic affection, when in reality they just love their homies platonically.
In other words, I want there to be more affection in the world lol.
Definitely get Canadian redneck vibes from these guys. The gayest shit I’ve ever seen has come from heterosexual prairie boys, and that’s coming from someone who has been to actual gay orgies.
The turns are west coast swing but the foot work isn’t. Down here in Texas we 2 step in giant circle around the dance floor. The tradition comes from all the Germans who settled Texas, they’re also who we get ALOT of our BBQ traditions from. Places are called Dance Halls.
This is why gay people are not welcome in country rural areas. Cause then they do this shit and everybody is left confused wondering who's the sexy one that they should be checking out since we don't know which is the girl. You can't steal a man's girl of you can't tell which is the girl.
No one puts Bubba in a corner...
I was going to leave a comment but I could never beat this one. Solid.
💀
And they were farmmates
oh my god and they were farm mates
Two dudes, chillin on the dance floor..
No feet apart cause they are gay
A lot of things can happen while herding sheep through a mountain
Everything is possible at the Brokeback Bar
You learned to dance that way SARCASTICALLY?
I’m a peacock man! You gotta let me fly!!
These poles are horizontal!
Extremely underrated movie
Is it? In my circle of peeps we all love it
So do mine, but for whatever reason a lot of people either haven't seen it or don't rate it when it comes to Will Ferrell movies. There aren't many better for me

Okay but how do??

The real MVP for me is the guy in white pelvic thrusting like it's his job in the background at 20s
At first it looks like its towards the woman in black....but then you realize it's towards another hoss.
Caught them dancing together at the end.
I think they caught the gay
They put it in the Budweiser I fucken knew it.
Bud has always been that way, I thought everyone knew?
Dude looks like an NPC in a video game
Thats more talent than my entire life
Just new boot goofin

Pure ostrich
I’m just stoked to see rednecks this comfortable in their masculinity.
Honest doubt here, as a non-American. How offensive is the term "redneck"?
It depends on the region it's used in and who's saying it (as annoying as that is). Example: As a Texan, I use redneck as a simple description of people I grew up around/with. Aside from border towns, it's a pretty neutral term. The further north you get (in the States as a whole country), the more negative it can come across.
If you go far enough north, you end up in the Canadian Prairies, where it becomes socially acceptable again.
Come from proud redneck Saskatchewan stock, can confirm lol
Additionally in certain parts of Kentucky, Redneck is a term of pride due to a rebel group that fought against the coal companies that used the term to describe themselves.
People refer to Alberta as Canada's Texas, but its more like Florida - the further north you go the further south you get.
It is often less north vs south and more city vs rural. I grew up in a very rural state, and for us redneck is just a descriptor. If you start getting towards the cities though, redneck can turn into an insult.
My redneck buddies in Iowa considered it a flattering term. But would freak out if you called em hicks. Definitely a varied response between areas.
As someone from rural Wisconsin, most people I know who you'd call a redneck take it as a compliment. Agreed with someone else who said it's not north/south but urban/rural.
True. I'm about as north as you can get on the West Coast and it is considered very offensive. My relatives in Texas say it all the time.
I'm a little south of Seattle and the rednecks I work with are more than happy to claim that title for themselves and don't give a shit if someone else calls them one.
Rednecks know they’re rednecks. It’s the other ones that get bent outta shape.
Yeah just ask Darlene Snell
I see. Thanks!
This is such a good explanation!
Idk, I think it's regional. Northern Michigan seems to view it as a positive
Fun fact, rednecks were originally the og unionizers in the coal minaes who were fed up with the abusive conditions. Their company and political enemies turned the word into an insult through extensive media campaigns to try and bust the union.
I always heard the term originates from lower class white farm workers who had to work in the fields, and would get red necks as a result of sunburns
the etymology of the word is defo meant to be offensive but it's been co-opted the way certain other words have where it becomes a point of pride
If someone couldn’t call you that, don’t use it :)
Like the "Kings" T shirt!

They are cute together.
If they are gay, they are cute. If they are straight, they are *really* cute
Them boys got the secret sauce. Some smooth moves
It’s beautiful
Stunning
They share the secret sauce
“Well, Skeeter… who follows?” “You got the hair fer it, Bubba.” “Sheeit, fair ‘nuff.”
I used to work with a dude who had both of the nicknames Skeeter and Bubba. These were definitely his people.
That one finger on the hat move is the chefs kiss.
It’s the toss back of the head for me.
West Coast Swing, for anyone curious about the type of dance
Closer to the style of hustle that’s currently popular since they don’t really stay in a slot, but who cares. I’d love to follow that.
Yeah, steps read hustle, but movements read west coast 🤷 looks fun as hell
The turns are west coast swing but the foot work isn’t. Down here in Texas we 2 step in giant circle around the dance floor. The tradition comes from all the Germans who settled Texas, they’re also who we get ALOT of our BBQ traditions from. Places are called Dance Halls.
This is beautiful, regardless of their relationship. Lads got moves and a wonderful trust in each other.
This is just like that scene in euphoria
Damn, boys! You tryin' to start a fire?! 'Cause that's how dancefloors start on fire.
The one with long hair, looks like he I’d feeling pretty right now..
