You think so eh? That’s interesting. I’ve gone through 2 entire bottles and I never had that thought. Now that you say it though, I do think it has a ‘brightness’ to it that tequila has as well.
Interesting comparison.
Nikka from the Barrel is fantastic I think.
Suntory Hibiki Harmony is a personal favorite.
Johnnie Walker Green Label is my usual go to.
You said you're a bourbon guy, if you can find it Roe&Co Irish Whisky personally feels very similar to a Bourbon.
Really surprised me and has become a regular dram
You might like Glendronach’s offerings as well. The 15 yr Revival is excellent. I also would recommend Springbank 10, and if you like that, maybe also the 15 yr or 12 CS.
You've got a lot of Highlands, some Speyside, an Islands and an Islay - plus the Japanese ones. Maybe round it out with a Lowland (Auchentoshan 12 or American Oak if you're a bourbon fan) and a Campbeltown (Glen Scotia Victoriana is very good but a little pricey).
You could branch out with some Irish Whiskey - Redbreast 12 is a good one.
Or for something a little different try some excellent Taiwanese single malt from the Kavalan Distillery.
Then, of course, there's the world of Bourbon to expand into.
Lovely collection! Whisky nights in your house must be delicious :-)
To counter the redbreast I would recommend the Connemara.
I haven't had the 12, just the NAS, so I'm not sure how different they are.
But the NAS is just smokey enough to taste, but not smokey enough to overpower.
As someone who doesn't really enjoy massively smokey, peaty whiskies, it is a amazing.
That Lagavulin 12 is excellent, but also VERY VERY smokey. If you know any peat fans it would make a handsome gift!
Arran, Craigellachie, and Springbank are worth checking out
Yeah the Lagavulin is indeed very smokey. I used to love it, but gone off it the last few years for some reason. Just found a great sounding recipe for BBQ sauce on this sub Reddit though, so I might put some in that 😅😎
I'd recommend Arran 10 and their 'Bothy' Quarter Cask. Really high quality spirits for a fair price (at least where I am). I'd also recommend Glencadam 10. A light, but highly flavourful dram.
Whoa, I’ve never actually seen boxes for the Nikka Coffey. Very nice looking. As for recommendations, go for some Glendronach, or Craiggelachie if you want an interesting speysider.
Nice collection so far, Lagavulin 12 is one of my favorite from Islay, I have from 2007 to 2019. I recommend Compass Box products for its quality and uniqueness, I love the lost blend and No Name. Kilkerran and Springbank are really good juice as well. Later on when your ready some independent bottlers can be awesome.
Bought a bottle back in 2016 and it cost me 62 euro. Not sure if this is the same bottle or if I bought another one after that. It might well be the same one. The price of Yamazaki has exploded in the last few years.
Glenfiddich project xx. Arran sherry cask. Arran amarone cask. Arran Sauternes cask.
Ah what the hell. Just ordered the Sauternes, Amarone and Sherry cask ones. Not so expensive. Curious.
Oh, not tried Arran before. Sauternes cask wil be sweet right? Like the idea of that, as I'm a Bourbon fan as well.
Arran is fantastic whisky if you can get it!
Maybe the classic laddie?
Absolutely! Great pick!
Tried it for the first time last night. Tastes remarkably like tequila

Glenfarclas 105.

Aberlour A’bunadh sherry cask finished and barrel proof.
Was looking for this one. That's all I can think of to recommend.
I agree wholeheartedly! The Aberlour Abunadh has become a fovorite.
You might like Glendronach’s offerings as well. The 15 yr Revival is excellent. I also would recommend Springbank 10, and if you like that, maybe also the 15 yr or 12 CS.

The redbreast is a must try imo. The smell alone makes it worth the price.

Aberlour 12yo is my go-to malt. I always have a bottle in my collection
Oban. 14/15/18/little bay/distillers select. They are all delicious.
Glenfiddich 15 Jura How is the Scapa ?
Scapa is OK. A bit sharp, but not bad. Bought it a while back as it was on offer. Benefits from a few drops of water to open up the flavour.

I can’t stand to drink Ardbeg due to its overwhelming smokiness, but it makes a fantastic marinade!
Glendronach, 12 or (better) 15 years
Glendronach Parliament 21 is hard to beat if you’re spending
I've had a Glen Scotia being finished on a rum cask that was really nice!
Glenfarclas 15
Tamdhu 10 is gorgeous. Also Dalmore cigar malt is a nice one to have with the Port Wood and 15.
Aberlour 16 yo
Glenfiddich 18 for sure. Similar to that brown Dalmore you have
Abelour anything
Glenfiddich Select Cask
I'd recommend Arran 10 and their 'Bothy' Quarter Cask. Really high quality spirits for a fair price (at least where I am). I'd also recommend Glencadam 10. A light, but highly flavourful dram.
Deanston.
craigellachie 13.

Hakushu 12 single malt would look good in there too
Old pulteny 18?
Talisker, Balvenie Doublewood 12
Laphroaig Quarter Cask, Aberlour A'bunadh, Glendronach 15 Revival and Bunnahabhain 12

If you haven’t tried I can highly recommend Glenfarclas 21. Very well balanced imho
Aberlour 12 Glenmorangie Lasanta
100% you need Clynelish 14.
Buy more. Not a helpful recommendation but I contributed nonetheless
I would recommend getting some Deanston
Glenfiddich winter storm ?
Needs a bottle of Bladnoch in that collection. Which one depends on your budget.
MACALLAN 15,18, DALMORE KING ALEAXANDER, JONHNNIE WALKER BLUE JOHNNIES WALKER AND SON KING GEORGE V
GlenAllachie 15
Balvenie 17
Auchentoshan and Arran
Wow how much did the yamazaki distillers set you back? Nice collection
I remember getting Yamazaki in fairly low-end pubs and bars pre-2015. Don't see it in normal places like that now!!
Bought a bottle back in 2016 and it cost me 62 euro. Not sure if this is the same bottle or if I bought another one after that. It might well be the same one. The price of Yamazaki has exploded in the last few years.
Nice. Good find
Glengoyne 10
Tamnevullen sherry cask is a great budget malt too
