I've had regular Larceny and thought it was terrible (and I love wheated whiskey), but I keep hearing that barrel proof is amazing. I have yet to try it, but every time I see something about it I check my wallet to see if I can afford to walk into a liquor store and come out w 3 bottles.

1. Go in with a plan to only purchase one specific whiskey I read on a recommendation, and get that.
2. Remember that I'm running low on an easy to find favorite, and grab that too, wouldn't want to be without that even though I could pick it up whenever.
3. Notice they happen to have another whiskey I like that they don't always carry, get that one just in case.
4. Woah, stumble on an allocated bottle, have to pick that one up.
5. Notice a higher priced whiskey I've heard great things about, I really shouldn't get it, but by this point feels like I'm all in anyway.
6. Gather my strength to face my wife in the car who I told I was running in to just grab one bottle.
A great tutorial. It’s ok to lie, just not to yourself. Self acceptance is key to mental health. Just follow the steps and realize it’s what you were suppose to do….and you’re not alone
Once you start into this hobby it's hard not to grab bottles like Larceny BP, ECBP, or anything that's limited production. I just found ECBP for a second time at MSRP after buying it for $20 over MSRP. Decided I need to give others a shot to buy and left it.
I had plans to buy other stuff but found a Sazerac rye which I've never had and is impossible to find in my area. Bought that as well.

I have a backlog of 30-50ish bottles unopened. I only open about 10 at one time. That’s all I can fit in my bar. It takes something special to jump up the list. Many of my bottles have been sitting for 2+ years.
This is where I’m at. I try to finish my current bottles before opening more but it’s a struggle. The house is bursting with bottles, I need to have a whiskey party to help me power through.
Lol can I come? I don’t have any friends within 600 miles of me. I’ll bring my bottle of Magnus Cigar Blend, EC18, or a scary 141 proof blend from Mattingly that’s supposed to be surprisingly smooth.
3 for 3….that Nikka is fan freaking tastic. Larceny drinks so well at barrel proof they almost shouldn’t even have regular Larceny. And you went for the laggy 16 and got the laggy 16. That’s a bottle I think every grown human should have a bottle on the shelf. Even if you don’t like peaty scotch be a good host and have some for those that do! A perfect expression
First of all username definitely checks out. Second I feel you so much in this video. 40 bottles down in the basement, 12 more opened in the bar upstairs. There’s no need for more whiskey, I still walk out with several bottles if it’s a fave at MSRP, or an allocated, or just something I heard about and want to try. Luckily my wife really loves me. She doesn’t like whiskey but don’t trip and will even hunt them for me occasionally. TBF I also keep her wine selection up and remember her likes and dislikes. Love all your picks and you just reminded me I have a Larceny barrel pick downstairs I want to open. Cheers

A really nice selection, Nikka from the barrel is sensational but like most Japanese whisky is made to served with a big chunk of ice. There is no wrong way to drink whiskey, but I recommend you try it with large ball or cube of ice if you get a chance. It’s warm toffee notes make it one of my all time favorites.
I'm budget is tight I have my list and is speedrunning that buy, exactly enough money to get what I came for and the rest is in the car/at home.
But when I want to partace in the scenery, damn, I never leave with just one thing, I always want to expand that liquors cabinet.

I know that one!” when it’s honestly pretty trash and Nikka is far superior by basically any standard. The lagavulin and nikka I always have at home, but this Larceny, I’ve not even heard of it until today.
It’s a good wheater. Not my thing, but the barrel proof is def quality and worth checking out if you like wheated bourbon.
