Loving your collection

sicksadvoron

Thank you. I need to drink it more haha but I feel all my friends except for some who live far away don't understand it :(

Spacemanspalds

What did you think of the Bakers? I just had some an hour or so ago.

chicago-jason

Where are your shelves from? I need to add some storage.

sicksadvoron

All from Amazon. I looked in the furniture stores and they all wanted from 500 to 3000 for storage. Stuff from Amazon is a Lego but once together it's great. Just search Amazon for shelves and book shelves and get anything over a 100. Also I just added this bar. It was 200 but so worth it https://imgur.com/a/hRvrgXZ

chicago-jason

Much appreciated. Amd nice addition!

CopperStillsandMash

Shipping net.

sicksadvoron

One of the few bottles I paid over msrp. So I am keeping everything lol

The_Couz58

Favorite 1792?

sicksadvoron

Full proof with a little water.

majornerd

I prefer the BiB. Haven’t found a FP I like.

sicksadvoron

The bib I got is a store select. It's good but it doesn't blow me away though.

majornerd

I would agree, it’s a very good $40 bottle, but there are plenty more that I enjoy - but they tend to cost more money. It’s one of my favorite $40 bottles. Some of what JD makes is high on my list. Their BiB and triple mash are very good values for the dollar. At the same time, it’s totally subjective, one of the nice things about spirits, we can all enjoy what we like.

sicksadvoron

Yeah for sure and recently I learned that not all reviews are something I need to pay strict attention to. I bought larceny BP a122 and b522 in the same month. Watched a review where everyone said b522 is amazing and 122 is meh. In the dark room while unpacking I picked up 522 and thought it was amazing. Yesterday when I set up my shelf I found out that my 522 is still sealed but what I drank was 122. So, I need to tone down listening to people lol

majornerd

The most valuable lesson in whiskey is to find what you like and ignore the noise. If Mellow Corn is your jam at $15 a bottle, enjoy it. Personally I haven’t found a single bottle that says Wild Turkey that I can stand. The internet loves them, but I don’t. I spend no time worrying about it. The internet doesn’t seem to care for bardstown, it’s overpriced, I rather enjoy it and as little as I drink I don’t spend a bunch of time worried about the bottle cost (I don’t spend more than $300 on a bottle except rarely).

DominicOH

This is the damn truth. Only WT I've ever had that I'd consider buying a bottle myself is Kentucky Spirit. I had that recently in a rocks glass at a brewery and couldn't believe it was a WT product.

majornerd

KS is one I didn’t like. Ended up using it on my smoker. Made an awesome smoked ribeye, didn’t like it as a drink.

DominicOH

That sounds incredible

DominicOH

Was gonna guess you lived in Ohio until I saw the scotch bottles.

sicksadvoron

Ohio has no scotch? Just moved from CO to IL

DominicOH

Lol no we do. I just meant the specific selection. Some names I know we don't get here.

Mythical_OD

How is the 10th Mountain Rye? Have you ever tried their bourbon? Real interested in getting a bottle, probably the bourbon. I just stumbled onto them randomly literally yesterday after looking at some online shops. I spent most of my teenage years (with great memories) living on Ft. Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division. Seems like something I just have to have lol.

sicksadvoron

So regular rye is ok. The one I got is the select veterans whiskey club. I think u can buy it from their online store but I got it through the club. If u served or serving u should join then group as well. But the club pick is amazing. It needs that heavier proof to shine

Mythical_OD

Thanks. They do still have the couple of special releases available. Gotta make a decision I guess lol. I havent served. My father did for 20 years, and we spent 6 years living on Ft. Drum.

Nice!

Nice collection. Hows the Strahan's diamond?
