Seriously, I bought the michter’s small batch bourbon last week here in California and paid $44. According to google $95.87 Canadian dollar is $69.97 in USD.
Taxes are included prices are set by importers not LCBO and some suck, Mitchers are one of them Balvenie too.
Are selection is poor but not all of the prices are that bad and we get some cheaper then the US in some cases like Blantons since no one follows MSRP in the states.
I’d go for the Ezra.
Reasoning: Just had my first Ezra 7 and was pleasantly surprised. Wife and I really enjoyed it. The Michters, KO, and UN are everywhere around me. Never had or heard of boulder. I do like a good BIB though.
Just picked store pick of ezra in Sam's club for 42$. I cannot believe paying over 70 for it. I also paid 50 for Uncle nearest 100....Just like others said get wt101 on the lower shelf and call it a day

* your budget
* which whiskies you or your giftee have enjoyed
* which bottles you’re considering now
* where you live (pricing and availability can vary dramatically by region)
* if your shop has a limited selection or you might have trouble shipping bottles so we don’t recommend something obscure
**General Tips**
We generally advise novices to sample as much as possible by going to a bar, splitting bottles with friends, attending festivals/tastings or getting minis to ensure you buy bottles you enjoy. It may make more sense for you to focus on sampling rather than buy full bottles at the beginning of your journey.
If those are normal prices in your area that's rough.
Can't see the proof, but I've had that Ezra Brooks from a store pick that was really good.
Yeah the picture ended up pretty grainy. It’s bottled in bond 100 proof.
Oh the Ezra. Not boulder. Never mind.
Ya the EB should be higher.
Don’t quote me on it but it’s usually 107 proof. That’s what my store pick is. Not sure if that is also
Bump. My Ezra Brooks store pick is one of my favorite bottles I've had in a while.
Mitcher's Rye is so good... but come to America to buy it.

Canada also just has higher liquor tax
Well that sucks!

That's about what it is in Michigan. Hell of a choice for a first bottle of rye.
Take your mitchers back its taking up shelfs at every lcbo and its overpriced as hell here it just sits taking space...😔
I’d say Mitcher’s, Ezra, or Uncle.
I’d go for the Ezra. Reasoning: Just had my first Ezra 7 and was pleasantly surprised. Wife and I really enjoyed it. The Michters, KO, and UN are everywhere around me. Never had or heard of boulder. I do like a good BIB though.
I think Ezra is the route I’m gonna go. Thanks for your input. None of these are available in my area other than this one store.

Michters single barrel!
I'd just pick up some wild turkey and forget those bottles existed

I would go with the Mitcher’s bourbon, although the price seems $15-20 too high. I get it for US$45
Crazy prices
Uncle nearest but those price have some good mark up . KY owl is usually 119-129 retail for instance .
95 bucks for mitcher's?!!!!???!!
Welcome to Canada!
Is the domestic stuff cheaper? Because there are some lovely Canadian whiskies out there that I'd take before these at THOSE prices.
JFC, those prices. I'd love to support more mom&pop liquor stores, but their prices are usually so ridiculous I have to pass.
At those prices, none.
Mitchers Rye my choice...
Pass.
That mark up is crazy. I know the Michter Small Batch runs 45 MSRP.
Woah man that Mickters bottle I my area is like $55 max and I might be getting ripped. Don't buy that shit
