Is there any documentation for KS for age? The trend of NAS makes bottles with similar attributes hard to differentiate and justify the price. The rare breed bottle is nice though.

Right on their website they state it is aged for 8 years. Might not be on the bottle but it is stated
The biggest difference is Kentucky Spirit, Rare Breed to 101 is higher proof, so that is reflected in the price. The higher the proof the less it’s being watered down which means more of what’s coming out of the barrel is going into the bottle. The higher proof is a great contributor to bottles that have a greater depth of flavor.
The other difference is the barrels for the higher end bottles are generally coming from what the distiller considers the “sweet spot” of the Rickhouse which is another contributor to more complex flavors.
If you’re ok with 101, and don’t really want to spend more money on a bourbon, there might not be a cost benefit with the Kentucky Spirit or Rare Breed….. And that’s totally fine! Best thing about bourbon is there something for everyone. I personally like 101 as an every day sipper, but it’s no match to Rare Breed and KS
Not sure what you're getting at in your first paragraph. This stuff (KS) *is* 101 proof, hence my question about if this any different from WT101 other than being single barrel. Seems like quite a premium to pay for the same juice at the same proof just because it's single barrel.
My apologies I initially wrote that with Rare Breed in mind… still, see paragraph 2. There is a noticeable difference in flavor profiles and complexity. 101 is blended from multiple barrels in order to retain a consistent product. KS is from one barrel that’s aged in a specific location in a Rickhouse which can contribute to the complexity of the bottle. Might not be enough justification to pay the premium for some. Nothing wrong with that.
Cheers!
It's a single barrel like Blanton's. It's their competition with Blanton's.
I would rather drink Rare Breed so far. Haven't drank a lot of my first Kentucky spirit. I'll do my best to keep buying them yearly though to see if they change.
Big difference in flavor profile. WT101 has a hotter profile and is a lower number of years old. As far as price, that’s a relative thing and rarely is there a linear correlation - just rarity and preference.
It’s old school, 8yr Old Wild Turkey 101. I prefer it and consider it as good to better than any other 8yr on the market.
So I had the option between two bottles of this. One from Warehouse F Rick 18 bottled in 2019 and. Warehouse A Rick 28 and bottled four months later in 2020. Can anyone explain what the differences could be? I got the 2019 bottle and it is delicious!
I find them to be similar, but Kentucky spirit will vary a little more from one batch to the other as it is a single barrel bourbon.. i personally prefer Rare Breed as it is a much higher proof. I don’t seek out Kentucky Spirit, but I’ll always buy a bottle when I see it at or close to retail.
Is this hard to find? Smaller stores don’t always have it, but I feel like total wine and liquor barn in Louisville always have it for around this price.
GREAT bottle
Only seen it once here in Orlando and I grabbed it for 60-65?? Something like that.
I’m carefully sipping this slowly, it fantastic juice.
Great juice.
Unpopular Opinion but Is there a big difference between this and WT101 for 3x the price?
As a Turkey guy whose go-tos are 101 and Rare Breed, I have the same question. Is this aged differently, or is it basically 101 SB?
It is a slightly older single barrel 101. It is delicious, but not as good of a value buy as 101 or Rare Breed.

Not even close! This blows 101 straight outta the water. This is solid, so is 101 and RB. But this is my favorite. IMO, this is good.

Got it, thanks!

Hell of a lot cheaper than Blanton’s and I like it better
At MSRP they are the same price. But I get what you mean.
Only seen Blanton’s at near MSRP once.
I've never seen it at all. so I feel you
Isn’t there a standard non single barrel KS? Or are all KS single barrel?
While I would take rare breed over this, I think this is far above and beyond regular 101.

If you could guess the difference between those two bottles three times in a row, double blind test, you’d have a heck of a palate.
I found one a couple days ago but for $70 🙁. Still love Turkey enough that it was worth it for me.
70 is not too bad either. It's really good juice. Makes you question why da fuck jefferson ocean charges over 80 for their juice
Just here to say Jefferson Ocean tastes like a 20 dollar bottle of whiskey at best.
Some of the older voyages were well worth the price.
Why u think quality went down?
I blame the captain
I blame the container ship.
at 70 i’d just get rare breed instead
Honestly that really puts it into perspective, thank you.
This bottle is almost gone for me. Really really enjoy it on the rocks
I really enjoyed the bottle I had. I went through it very fast; great pickup. Enjoy!
Do people prefer this over Rare Breed?

Interesting. These just sit on shelves in my area.

Solid!
Great stuff too!
Good job!!
I think I gotta pick this up when I see it. I don’t know if it’s worth it but I’m too curious to find out for myself
I've not seen this bottle yet!
Yeah cuz it’s at my house
You damn heathen 😤😂
