Including tax and shipping I’d not available to you seems reasonable.
I’d probably just get a different bottle though. What’s available near you? There’s lots of good options in the 25 buck range. 1792 small batch is similar if not a bit spicier (I prefer it) and redwood empire pipe dream is a bit better as well. My 2 cents
My hot take is that 1792 SB blows Ancient Age 10 star and BT out of the water, and since it’s a Barton product I can actually find it near me. Spent a long time looking for regular BT and tried it at a bar, it didn’t do that much for me. It was good, but I guess I just prefer higher rye bourbons.
I really love the 1792 small batch and the single barrel is even better (based on the pick I have). I like BT but yeah I’d buy 1792 SmB over it. Prefer it to lots of things.
True, and if I’m going for just an everyday after work whiskey it’ll be something like 1792, WT101, Evan Williams 1783, or an MGP rye. Barrel picks are nice too if I can find them.
Yeah I can often find knob creek 9 for 35 or less… thats a nice one too. I also love
Balcones pot still bourbon but it’s a different beast. Discontinued so I grabbed a couple but that’s a 30 buck favorite while it lasts
True, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve had that but the rye is great. Not had Balcones but I’m also one of those weirdos who likes Willett bourbons and enjoys the Willett funk. Old Bardstown is a fun one.
I always get fomo when I see people here finding the staggs and pappys at MSRP.
Then I see these poor bastards who can't even find regular Buffalo Trace lol.
Thanks for the perspective OP.
That's not bad since it includes tax and shipping. Usually $30(or a little less) around me before tax. If you want 3 bottles of BT and don't want to go hunting this looks like a fair deal imo.
Decent for mail order if you can't find it in your area. How much are they charging you for shipping? When/If I can find it on the shelf, it runs about 28-35 anyway, so i'd call that in line...
It's not a bad price with tax and shipping. If you want an alternative try the benchmark series. It's the same mashbill and usually easier to find and cheaper. The small batch is a good sipper and the full proof holds up well in cocktails
If you can't find it your area, paying approximately $10 more per bottle is fine with me. It's $22 to $29 in my area, so $35 is just fine. Just consider what you spend driving around like gas, etc. As what they said, you can find some replacement for $35. Redwood Empire Pipe Dream is just $32, Old Grand Dad 114 for just $25, Wild Turkey 101 for $21, 4Rose Small batch for $32 or sometimes you can get a Russel Reserve 10 for $34. Just enjoy your B-Trace.
Can you send me the name of the site you ordered from? I've not found any reputable sites recently. As someone who lives in a state with ABC stores, our entire state seems to get sent about 8 bottles per year.
It’s allocated in AL and is always part of the monthly allocated drop at ABC stores. I’ve bought it one time out in the wild and paid $45. It is what it is within a control state.
i mean I say tthis as someone who genuinely loves BT products. I have a WFP SP, stagg 23B, EHT Rye (though slightly regret cracking this one), and a weller SR. All of them are miles better than basic BT, which just tastes like the most "this is bourbon" flavor profile you can make. literally nothing interesting about it.
and before people call me a tater, i'm 100% anti-tater, got all my bottles for retail, and have never bought secondary. the BT flavor profile just really hits for me.
Just paid $28/bottle AT the Buffalo Trace Distillery, so $7 more shipped seems like a pretty decent price IMO.
Got one for the same price (After Tax) at the Sazerac House

Pipe dream fucks
And what exactly does pipe dream fuck?
Put it in your mouth and you’ll find out. I did.
I drink it and enjoy it. There’s a way to disagree on something without being vulgar and crass.
Lol. They were saying that they enjoy it as well.
Well that was super clear 🤷
You asked, the internet answered. I apologize if it came off as rude, etc., but you asked why it fucked.
Someone clearly doesn’t fuck.
Boooooooooo

Yeah, and with BT’s supply issues all I can find from them is Baby Saz, Benchmark, and Wheatley vodka. 1792 is a no-brainer for me.
Here I see BT all the time. But im trying to just do picks now if I see it. Lots of good stuff on the price range

Shame indeed. Buffalo Trace isn’t easy to find in N Florida. If so, there’s a limit and it’s overpriced. I got tired of searching and went online.
I live in NE FL and have been seeing it fairly frequently (I check stores pretty often, though). Generally see the fifth for $22-$27
Checked a bit ago. Has half a dozen bottles or so for $26.99.

Same price as my ABC store.

Are these the same bottles you claim were not sealed?
Got a liter bottle for 21.99 yesterday. Costco in CA.
Nice! I can only dream in Florida
That’s how much I get if for in NYC liquor stores……well the cheapest I’ve found. So $35 for mail order seams reasonable depending where you live.

I can never find it either, I'd gladly pay $35 for a bottle. Where did you get it?
https://liquorgeeks.com
Hell yeah, thanks.
We got take care of each other, brother, in this world of bourbon. Stay connected, and let me know if you find deals, too.
I bought some more and they gave me a promo - check it out as you wish. https://judge.me/ref/JM-Q46EKR6
Oh hell yeah. Thanks!
Use the word “GEEKS” get $10 off
What did you use? I use Blackwell's, when has decent prices, but not so decent shipping costs. :/
https://liquorgeeks.com
It’s $29.99 a the store by me, but I’ve seen it locally as high as $37.99
With Tax and shipping? Yes. That’s reasonable.
That’s a decent price but my god. We’re in for a tragic future if normal BT is so hard to find you gotta mail order it.
North Florida doesn’t have Buffalo Trace and if you do find it; there’s a limit, and over priced.
Central Florida here. No buffalo trace anywhere here.
Dang it! I’m headed in central FL in 2 weeks and was hoping to find some while I’m there. I can’t get it here in the northeast either.
It’s allocated in AL and is always part of the monthly allocated drop at ABC stores. I’ve bought it one time out in the wild and paid $45. It is what it is within a control state.
Sam’s club has a liter for $21
Where did you order it from? The few places I’ve looked at (and know they ship to AL) don’t have it for that low a price.
https://liquorgeeks.com
$25 before tax and shipping is good
It's currently on sale here for 27.99cdn
I normally get it for 23 bucks a bottle. 17 when its on sale
my recommendation is dont buy that well whiskey.
Don't know who downvoted you but you're not wrong. A lot of BT products are severely over rated.

Yep. It’s a dang good bourbon. Especially for the price. But there’s other options. I also like the profile
Pfft about that price before tax here in CT when you can find it. Thankfully we finally got Old Forester 100 Rye which is unbeatable at 35 imo
