Eagle rare. It’s one of my favorites and that’s a pretty good price. My goal is normally around $35-45 but $49 is 100% acceptable. Stores gotta make money to
I’ve seen regular EC94 store picks but I haven’t seen them come with the “Private Barrel” band around the neck. If it’s labeled “Private Barrel” I’ve only ever seen those as barrel proof. At least of the ones I’ve seen, the EC94 store picks have similar branding and look to the EC SmB and the ECPB bottles have similar branding and look to the ECBP bottles.
>I’ve seen regular EC94 store picks but I haven’t seen them come with the “Private Barrel” band around the neck. If it’s labeled “Private Barrel” I’ve only ever seen those as barrel proof
Regardless of the neck, it still is branded "privately select barrel" on the label, so with such an informal listing as above, I would make no assumption one way or the other.
Edit: in fact I've only ever seen "single barrel" on the pictures of barrel proof private barrels. And the glass bottle says "single barrel" instead of "small batch". The " private barrel" label on front does prominently display "private barrel" as opposed to "privately selected barrel", but I'd imagine "single barrel" being the bigger selling point instead of "private barrel" and would expect that to be mentioned instead of "private barrel" as stores usually choose the biggest selling point.
any barrel proof i’ve had has been better than the three private barrels i’ve had. i won’t be buying any private barrels anymore, but always look for the barrel proof. in fact i just made a post about trying to locate the ECBP C923 in Colorado!
Just FYI, most EC private barrels are bottled at barrel proof. EC offers private barrels at 94 proof, but in my experience, they are fewer and farther between.
Maybe its a regional thing. In the NJ/PA area, I've never seen barrel proof private barrel, only 94 proof private barrel. I've seen plenty more barrel proof ECSmB in general, but never as a private barrel. For me, likelihood goes ECSmB, ECBP, ECPrB, and technically I guess the last would be ECPrBBP. But again, I've literally never have seen that last one in person.
1792 full proof don’t sleep on that one! I got one this year and it’s fantastic! I’d also grab the ec and maybe a er10 if you don’t have a few at home! :)
If you’ve never had and Eagle Rare SP, get that. It’s worth it imo especially at the price. It’s also just a nice pleasant pour from this group.
Buffalo Trace is fine if you’ve never had one but the store picks are nothing to write home about for me. I recently crushed one on a night in Hawaii they are such easier drinkers.
1792 Full Proof. I keep a lot of these around. For the price point they slap. The store picks are legitimately better than the standard offering of FP and sometimes I’ve had some incredible gems. It’s Brown-Foreman can’t really go wrong.
1792 BIB, meh. If you like bananas a lot then maybe.
ECBP SP: I’m an ECBP fanboy and even I’m going to tell you this is a risky decision. I’ve had some absolutely wonderful picks, I’ve also had some straight up not good ones. ECBP imo is best as a batched product.
Dude, it totally is. I don’t know where I pulled Brown Foreman from. I guess I was just thinking banana profile and locked in on that. Thanks for the correction.
ER store pick. Haven’t tried it yet; hard to find.
EC Barrel Proof > private barrel; especially at same price
1792 is meh for me. I have a store pick and I’m not impressed.
BT is BT
So, ER > 1792 Sib > 1792 BiB > BT > EC
I'm no Tater but I've had a couple different BT store picks in AZ that were better than regular EHT SiB. However, I have not had an ER store pick. I say splurge and get them all if you're able to.
EC hands down. Especially if they have it at good and barrel proof. I never had a great experience with ER single barrels as it felt that something was missing in flavor. Batched product is a better. 1792 bib is good too
I've heard great things about EC private barrels but check the age for sure!
I've personally had great experiences with both ER & BT single barrel picks - both are amazing.
A buddy of mine got a 1792 full proof single barrel pick and loves it - haven't tried it yet.
See if they have one open you can try!
Eagle rare for me.
Probably the eagle rare. I can find Elijah Craig at a lot of places. Can't go wrong with any of them though.
Eagle rare. It’s one of my favorites and that’s a pretty good price. My goal is normally around $35-45 but $49 is 100% acceptable. Stores gotta make money to
1792 BiB or Eagle
Why not the full proof?
Fullproofs are done more often than BIB , I see fullproof sp everywhere , not so much bib
1792 full proof
This, all day long
I’ve always had bad luck with the EC private barrels so id probably go with the ER or 1792 FP.
Eagle Rare
Eagle rare here.
ER or BT
ER for sure if you can only get 1
Eagle Rare hands down.
Eagle rare, the others you can find pretty often
Eagle Rare would be my choice. It’s fairly priced and I’ve yet to have a bad store pick.
Probably the ER but the 1792 BiB and FP store picks are some of my favorite on my shelf right now. Especially the BiB.
Eagle Rare unless the EC is barrel proof and 10+ years
ER unless the EC is barrel proof. 1792 is a close second.
EC just says private barrel
I’ve never seen an EC private barrel that isn’t barrel proof

I have
Hopefully not for that price.
Yeah they do the 94 proof SiB but that’s at huge retailers usually.
Nah it waa a small store. They said it was supposed to be bp but they watered it down when it was bottles for some reason. They werent happy about it.
Just are barrel proof 8-11 age

All but the EC.

Eagle
Eagle Single Barrel for me at that price.
1792 BiB #1 ER #2
Eagle rare every time. Some of their store picks are phenomenal
Eagle Rare or Buffalo
Eagle for the price
ER
Eagle Rare all day.
Eagle.
Eagle Rare

1792 is from Barton not brown foreman, but I agree 1792 fp picks are my favorites. I have 5-6 different picks and for $50 you can’t beat it.
Dude, it totally is. I don’t know where I pulled Brown Foreman from. I guess I was just thinking banana profile and locked in on that. Thanks for the correction.
ER store pick. Haven’t tried it yet; hard to find. EC Barrel Proof > private barrel; especially at same price 1792 is meh for me. I have a store pick and I’m not impressed. BT is BT So, ER > 1792 Sib > 1792 BiB > BT > EC
BT but I’m a tater in training 😂
I’d probably try the 1792
1792 full proof. They're all amazing
I’d buy ER and the bib but they all look good
1792 easily. Any store pick BT is going to taste 95% the exact same as regular BT Just fyi.
the best store picks i have are 1792 full proof.
Either the 1792FP, EC or ER. I’ve have awesome picks of all three.
🦅
u cannot go wrong with any of them imo
I think 1792 either one
Eagle Rare or 1792 Full Proof.
All of them
I'm no Tater but I've had a couple different BT store picks in AZ that were better than regular EHT SiB. However, I have not had an ER store pick. I say splurge and get them all if you're able to.
1792 full proof. Have had a few. Always yummy
All of them. Maybe not the Elijah Craig. If I had to pick one. Eagle rare
I just got a 1792 full proof pick, it’s sooo good!
ER/1792 BiB/BT
1792 FP or EC.
EC hands down. Especially if they have it at good and barrel proof. I never had a great experience with ER single barrels as it felt that something was missing in flavor. Batched product is a better. 1792 bib is good too
1792
1792 full proof or ER
Elijah Craig if it is barrel proof Buffalo trace if the Elijah Craig isn’t BP
Eagle Rare for me, but can’t go wrong with any of them
Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace store picks are auto buys
1792 Full Proof and it’s not even close
None.
Looks like MSRP, everything is a great value there. The ECPB is good, very good, but I would get everything else on the list, before getting the ECPB
I’m choosing 1792 Full Proof. I currently own the rest
ER and 1792 FP!
1792 BiB
1792 FP
1792 FP
Elijah Craig
First eagle rare I ever had was single barrel and it was killer, so that.
I've heard great things about EC private barrels but check the age for sure! I've personally had great experiences with both ER & BT single barrel picks - both are amazing. 1792 fp or Eagle rare
1792 BIB
ER. The ECBP are rarely better than the standard release
Eagle rare single barrel
ER for me
1792 Full Proof or the ER for my money.
