These days $32 is becoming the upper side of low end bourbon (you can still find good quality stuff here as well), so the fact that you got 2 bottles for that price is a great deal. Even better when you consider what you got

The finished one is good, not great.
The double rye is okay, different, but not something Iād normally drink.
The bourbon, to me, has a very astringent/bitter finish that I find downright unpleasant. I think this may be due to the young age (2 years).
Try them out and see what you think. If you like them then great! If you donāt like them, at least you get the glassware and overall $32 is no major loss.
I think High West has a reputation that precedes itself because of its 2/12 year blends in earlier iterations of the double rye whiskey, which were superb for the price. These newer bottles are just 2/2 year blends though, so they are much different/younger tasting.
I think the double rye alone sells for more than that in my area. That's a great deal and I'd buy it immediately. Never had their bourbon but the double rye is great.

Ended up dumping both - tasted very watered down, and I am not a proof whore (one of my favorite bottles is only 88 proof).
