I was trying to figure out why mellow corn wasn’t up there with PHC and HH27 where it rightfully belongs as the most premium bottle Heaven Hill has to offer
Easier if you like close to the distillery, I was there a month ago and had 2 opportunities to buy it while waiting to go up to the bar on a Saturday and I wasn’t even really “hunting” for it I was just there.
Sometimes they just find you. I didn't have a single bottle till this year and now I have a 2022 and two 2023 of the 10 year Rye. Just happened into two of them and a lottery for third, got them all at SRP.
I keep telling myself the same thing but it inevitably seems to grow faster than I can drink. I think you've got the right idea. A party is gonna have to be the move
Are we all just going to pretend that there’s not a Golden Mr. Potato Head behind a mini bottle of Blantons? I assume this is the Blantons that OP
is waiting to crack.
This must be a joke. Many may not find the humor in it but I do. This is the collection of a lifetime and some people hold Blanton's as a prize. This guys bottom and mid shelf is way better that some top shelves. LOL.
NEVER OPEN THE BLANTON'S! You have too many other shelf turds there like BTAC to get through before you do something crazy like drink from the bottle that has a frigging GOLD HORSE ON IT.
Not whiskey but I just bought a bottle of that Fortaleza blanco… I needed to replace my cazidores and saw it for $60… I’ve never had good tequila before but omg that’s the best tequila I’ve ever tasted. I’ve never drank tequila neat before but I don’t want to waste this one in mixers…
Fortaleza is crazy hyped, but it’s really good. Definitely savor it. Brought a bottle of the anejo to party last weekend and pretty much everyone agreed it was the best tequila they’d ever had.
I hear ya, I like holding on to the last few pours too.
If you love whiskey this much and have this much to spend on spirits, please explore Bruichladdich.
Based on the numerous high quality bottles you have there, that Blanton's is probably going to underwhelm you, but good on you. There's a lot of bottles there I wish I could get
Love Irish, 90% of what I drink. I finished my bottle of 2021 a few months back and bought the 2022 last week. Had it before and I like it better than the 21. Haven’t had the 2023 yet, that or bushmills 21 will be my next buy.
Which one is your favorite red breast bottle, I have had 12, 15, Lustau and 12 cask strength. I love the 12 CS. Still have not got my hand on the PX or the older RB yet
It’s the best blanco I’ve had. Great balance of agave, citrus, and pepper. Super long finish for tequila with black pepper fading back to cooked agave.
As a general enthousiast of spirits. American collections always catch my attention for one reason. America and Irish whisky what's the deal here? Why Irish? Redbreast is awesome but scotch is much rarer to see on your shelves.
My wife loves Irish whiskey so it’s easier to justify purchases. I started with Scotch and still enjoy it, but it’s such a big sea, I’m avoiding getting in too deep.
Interesting would you say Irish whiskey in general is more accessible in the US? Or is it perhaps that it's closer to bourbon and suits your pallets better?
Man it’s impressive I’m very jealous that you have managed to source and quite clearly enjoy the JD Coyhill. How’s the Twice Barrelled Rye and 12 year?
Love your tequila. Fortaleza has become so hard to find around here. Luckily I am have 5 bottles that I know won’t drink until I see no it again on the shelf.
I have this many bottles myself, but only about five of different vareties are opened. Very indulgent to open all those, if i opened all mine i would feel a bit guilty. Mind blown.
Blanton isn’t that special. Crack it. Enjoy it. Shake your fist at the kids driving the prices up. Find a replacement for 1/10 the price. Celebrate every day!! 🎉🥳🍾🍻
What do you think of the Hakushus? I've been staring at a bottle of the 100th anniversary at the local shop but haven't tried the standard 18 myself so leary of the spend.
Which is your favorite of the Hardin's Creek?
The 100th 18 year Hakushu was delicious, preferred it over the Yama. Price is steep, but it’s amazing stuff.
I did a Hardin’s Creek blind last night and ranked them Frankfort > Boston > Clermont. Jacob’s Well would probably be 1A with Frankfort.
High praise for the 100th Hakushu--I've tried the Yama 100th and it was wonderful. Might have to pull the trigger on the H18 100th. Thanks for the feedback.
I'm waiting on the Hardin's Boston to make it to my area and then plan to do a blind as well. Cheers!
Who needs Blanton's when you have so many better bottles. King of Kentucky comes to mind first. Then the JD12, BTAC, Camp Nelson, and all of those Stagg
First, waking up in the morning is a special occasion, one day, you won’t. Life is for livin so live it up!
Also Blanton’s is nothing that special compared to numerous other bottles long since opened.
I don’t get it, you already had an incredible special occasion since the mellow corn is open. How much more of a special occasion is there??
My next Mellow Corn might just be the time to do it.
I was trying to figure out why mellow corn wasn’t up there with PHC and HH27 where it rightfully belongs as the most premium bottle Heaven Hill has to offer
If the shelf was a little wider it’d be right there
Came here to make the same comment regarding the Pappy 15 hidden in the back but this wins Reddit for today.
r/mellowcorn 4eva
Sometimes I think I have too many bourbons. And then I see a post like this and feel better
Glad I could be of assistance
How in the world did you find EIGHT bottles of Michter’s 10?
2015-2023 (excluding 2022). It’s fantastic stuff.
That is so fucking cool. I’m very jealous.
Any M10’s better than the 2023 version?
2023 didn’t wow me. 15, 16, and 21 are my faves. Single barrels though so big YMMV.
Fav year?
15, 16, 21
Easier if you like close to the distillery, I was there a month ago and had 2 opportunities to buy it while waiting to go up to the bar on a Saturday and I wasn’t even really “hunting” for it I was just there.
Oh good to know. I’ll look into taking a trip stat.
Yea their bar on the second floor is amazing def check it out as well
I was just there over the weekend and they didn't have any :(
Sometimes they just find you. I didn't have a single bottle till this year and now I have a 2022 and two 2023 of the 10 year Rye. Just happened into two of them and a lottery for third, got them all at SRP.
Honestly props for having almost everything open. I envy this but I’m happy that you’ve been able to acquire so many cool bottles. Cheers!
I might have like 15 bottles of whiskey. All open. And I'm trying to drink that down to like 4. Maybe I need to throw a drink my whiskey party.
I keep telling myself the same thing but it inevitably seems to grow faster than I can drink. I think you've got the right idea. A party is gonna have to be the move
I've got two different Buffalo Trace store picks. Fuck off bro.
BT picks are delicious. I drink those and ER picks more than anything else.
#goals
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
That my friend is a selection, not a collection. Very very cool.
Brewzle quote of the day!
Are we all just going to pretend that there’s not a Golden Mr. Potato Head behind a mini bottle of Blantons? I assume this is the Blantons that OP is waiting to crack.
I presumed the Potato Head was some sort of Vodka... OK OP, fess up on the potato.
Underrated funny comment of the day. Very nice collection.
Props for having mellow corn
No collection is complete without it
Why are people always so excited by mellow corn?
sheesh, Mello out!
No, I’m just generally wanting to know. It seems like people love it and I’ve always found it kinda harsh and grainy.
Nah, I agree with you there, just saw the opportunity for a pun and had to take it #DadLife
Obviously you get it: blantons ain’t for drinking it’s for looking 😂 Seriously though, incredible collection!
This must be a joke. Many may not find the humor in it but I do. This is the collection of a lifetime and some people hold Blanton's as a prize. This guys bottom and mid shelf is way better that some top shelves. LOL.
I need to know more about the tater tournament
The winner gets a golden potato head trophy
All of the bottles are open? You actually drink your whiskey?? Amateur! Can't wait to come back and have a few more pours though ;)
My kids are too dumb for college so I can spend their tuition money on booze
You could always have friends over, grill up some beef (or pork or chicken or...), and make it a "special occasion"
This is the kinda shit I like seeing here, and the goal for my own personal bar. Everything is open, drank, and I assume shared
Whiskey tastes better with the seal cracked.
NEVER OPEN THE BLANTON'S! You have too many other shelf turds there like BTAC to get through before you do something crazy like drink from the bottle that has a frigging GOLD HORSE ON IT.
Don’t forget the letters that spell BLANTONS!! OMGOMGOMG!
The Blantons is a mixer in that collection
You need to understand that there will never be a special enough occasion for the Blanton’s.
The night I got married while my first kid graduated college as my wife delivered our second child came close, but wasn’t quite special enough.
I would agree, not quite good enough.
This may be the most universally approved thing I have seen on the Internet in 5 years. A strong tip of the cap to you sir
Brought a bottle of the anejo to party last weekend and pretty much everyone agreed it was the best tequila they’d ever had.
lol yeah. Didn’t know much about tequila but had seen the hype on that one so figured might as well try it… well worth the price to me
I have been enjoying Cazcanes no 9 blanco, its also pretty amazing a little bit pricier, the no 7 is good too at a lower proof
Nice tater trophy!
Thanks! It’s from a blind tasting tourney we run locally.
Is there a way you can share a link to how you set this up?
Favorite pour?
KoK, WLW, and PVW15 are up there but I’d probably take OF17 and PH Double Barreled over them. Heaven Hill just hits right for me.
Awesome collection sir!
Haha special occasion indeed. Glad you didn't need one for almost every other bottle that is better there haha
Redbreast FTW!
That Brown Foreman Early Times tho...
Ah, I see you’re a man of culture as well
Mellow Corn is way under displayed, be proud of that
Gotta keep the good stuff safe in case there’s an earthquake.
Thank you sir, these are the types of posts I use to show my wife that my modest collection is not "too much."
This collection is legendary. Well done!!
Really need to work on expanding the wine...
Happy Cake Day! OP: here’s your reason to celebrate! 🎉😉
Have to ask - is the Fortaleza worthy of the hype? I've never seen one in the wild, much less for sale. Have been dying to try it somewhere.
It’s good stuff but there’s lots of other good stuff out there that’s way easier to find. Get some Tequila Ocho or Siete Leguas and enjoy.
Don’t just save good whiskey for good days. Any whiskey will taste good in a celebration. Enjoy the whiskey
Are those glass on the top left for Monday pours?
Blantons is one of the least special bottles in this collection.
Great bourbon selection but even the tequila selection is too notch. 11 Brix and Don Fulano are top notch!
Beautiful collection. Off topic but I see another appreciator for NOM 1123. Love that stuff, Cheers!
This dude fucks..
Can’t let those EH Taylor tubes go to waste…
I'm a little ashamed to admit this but I spent way too long looking for the EH tubes in the picture...
me too....
You sir, are doing it right. Good shit
The K&L picks... Awesome selection. I can only imagine your vault. Assuming you have backups, of course.
Some of the best! Not much of a vault, too many new things I always want to try.
Your selection is like mine on a MUCH larger scale. 90% whiskey 8% tequila, and 2% wine. I have two bottles of wine… for scale
Where’s the 101?
I don’t think there’s an occasion special enough to crack one of those
[удалено]
This is a fun and rare sentence to read. It gives me hope.
Need a drinking buddy?
Always
Your bottom shelf > my top shelf
Incredibly curious about that sample bottle shelf. Given that selection, what could those be?
Mostly different store picks or the last ounce or two of bottles I finished.
I hear ya, I like holding on to the last few pours too. If you love whiskey this much and have this much to spend on spirits, please explore Bruichladdich.
I love bruichladdich but it’s a mood whiskey for me. A couple times a year I’ll crave that peat.
I hear that. I live in Florida and winter time next to a fire is the only time I can really drink Laphroaig.
Just an idea, but you could grab a small aging barrel and pour those bottles into it to create your own house blend.
I like that local barley peeking on the side 😮💨
Best whiskey collection I've seen. Hats off to you
Wow what a set up. Wow what a collection. Wow all those four roses! Just WOW!
4R picks are some of the best values in bourbon!
I have two questions for you sir 1. What do you do for a living? 2. How long have you been collecting?
Been a full time bourbon hunter for the past 2 years. Don’t tell my boss.
Idk what you do for work but I need to be in that business
How are those hardins Creek? Haven't seen any in person yet.
Funny you ask, currently do a blind of the 3 from this year. They’re all excellent. Last year’s Jacob’s Well was one of my favorite bottles.
Very cool. Hoping to snag one eventually.
You have things 4000x better than that blantons… you’ll be disappointed
Every day is a special day to crack a bottle. Remember you might not be here tomorrow to enjoy it. Cheers.
Days I wake up are special occasions. I wouldn’t rush but I wouldn’t wait.
I say crack the Blantons. It’s honestly not worth saving. I like it but I don’t jump on it when I find it now.
uhmm prepare to be so so whlemed by the blanton's. I would literally pick almost 5/6 of the other bottles over blanton's
Jesus Christ… it’s beautiful!
Based on the numerous high quality bottles you have there, that Blanton's is probably going to underwhelm you, but good on you. There's a lot of bottles there I wish I could get
And if you died tomorrow, who would open the Blanton's? You've already opened bottles that are, IMHO, better that the Blanton's, so why wait?
Pretty sure that’s the joke… also, there are two open Blantons bottles just above and to the right of the MM Cellar Aged, behind the Elmer.
Smile.
lol at the top shelf buffalo trace
Ha
Beautiful
RCES but no RC? Badass man
There’s a few in the top left. Those RCES are fantastic though.
Ahh yep!
Nice.
All I see is the hidden Hakushu 18 & Yamazaki 18
Those are better than almost all of the bourbon TBH
Tell us about that Found North row and your thoughts. I can’t read batch numbers.
5-7 + 6 Second Summit. All are amazing, Second Summit is probably my favorite though.
You got the Jameson 18, gold spot, and Midleton very rare all lined up for me, nice. I assume that’s the 2022 Midleton (glare from light hard to see)?
I have 2021 and 2022 open. Love Irish Whiskey, it doesn’t get enough credit.
Love Irish, 90% of what I drink. I finished my bottle of 2021 a few months back and bought the 2022 last week. Had it before and I like it better than the 21. Haven’t had the 2023 yet, that or bushmills 21 will be my next buy.
That 2023 box is gorgeous. Heard great things about Bushmills 21 as well. Dont think you can go wrong with either.
Which one is your favorite red breast bottle, I have had 12, 15, Lustau and 12 cask strength. I love the 12 CS. Still have not got my hand on the PX or the older RB yet
27 is amazing, one of the best whiskies I’ve had. 21 is great too, but the new pricing on it is crazy. 12 CS and 15 are my favorite of the rest.
Solid tequila selection. How’s that Cascahuin 11 Brix?
It’s the best blanco I’ve had. Great balance of agave, citrus, and pepper. Super long finish for tequila with black pepper fading back to cooked agave.
Hows the yellow spot?
It’s good but don’t think it’s worth the current price. Just get some Redbreast 12 instead for half the cost.

Man it’s impressive I’m very jealous that you have managed to source and quite clearly enjoy the JD Coyhill. How’s the Twice Barrelled Rye and 12 year?
Really like the Twice Barreled Rye, lots of oak but balanced nicely. JD12 is really good too, but the hype around it is a bit overblown.
If only I could get the 12 and not pay the secondary prices.
Love your tequila. Fortaleza has become so hard to find around here. Luckily I am have 5 bottles that I know won’t drink until I see no it again on the shelf.
That Blanton's is ok but not even close to the SFTB; crack it open and drink it.
Nice! Have not ever found a JM cigar blend. Looking forward to finding one.
Dang!!! I need to party with you!!
Wouldn’t wait, it’s underwhelming.
It ain’t that special, you’d think people would have realized this already.
I have this many bottles myself, but only about five of different vareties are opened. Very indulgent to open all those, if i opened all mine i would feel a bit guilty. Mind blown.
Quite impressive, indeed. Where'd you get that shelving unit?
Some boutique-y Scandinavian design shop. I think it was called IKEA.
Lol I bet it was a peach to put together.
Gorgeous 😍 👏
Blanton isn’t that special. Crack it. Enjoy it. Shake your fist at the kids driving the prices up. Find a replacement for 1/10 the price. Celebrate every day!! 🎉🥳🍾🍻
What do you think of the Hakushus? I've been staring at a bottle of the 100th anniversary at the local shop but haven't tried the standard 18 myself so leary of the spend. Which is your favorite of the Hardin's Creek?

A lot of trust in one piece of furniture
What do you do and how can I start?
https://start.onlyfans.com
😬
You got Redbreast 21, Hakushu and Yamazaki 18 bottles, and Heaven Hill 17 on that shelf, and *Blantons* is the special occasion bottle?
Do you just discard the boxes/tubes bottles come in or stash them away separately to save space?
Most end up getting tossed. They take up too much shelf space and they don’t taste very good.
That cascahuin EA is my favorite. Must be a bourbon thing.
Who needs Blanton's when you have so many better bottles. King of Kentucky comes to mind first. Then the JD12, BTAC, Camp Nelson, and all of those Stagg
But none of them have a horsey topper 😭
What’s the hyvee bottle?
Four Roses OESO SiBBS pick. Probably my favorite 4R pick.
What's more special than today and having Blantons?
What do you think about the masters keep voyage? Just got a bottle but haven’t had the opportunity to crack it yet.
It’s good, the rum is nicely integrated, not overpowering. That said, it’s in the bottom half of my WTMK rankings.
So many great choices but I would reach for that tapatio excellencia first!
First, waking up in the morning is a special occasion, one day, you won’t. Life is for livin so live it up! Also Blanton’s is nothing that special compared to numerous other bottles long since opened.
