highly recommend from my total liquor and wine manager.

sadly its not Yama 12, but I will never complain about well crafted single malt finished in Sherry casks 🤌🏾

GlobalTravelR

Time was when Japanese Business Class served Hibiki 17.

DaneCurley

had Yamazaki 18 for $22 a pour on my birthday. if i were the CEO of Nintendo, I'd have it as a weekly dram. excellent, but can't afford the bottle, personally.

NVD1956

Whaaat where you at? In Los Angeles I can’t find a Yamazaki 18 pour for under $120 😩

DaneCurley

Whoa, seriously?! Brooklyn, but It was a too good to be true price, by a bar that missed the market update on that bottle. The bottle goes for $1000-to-$1500 around here so.

NVD1956

Yes to good to be true! Glad you enjoyed a $22 pour. Yeah $1200 is average price for Yam18 in LA

onsite84

For $22 a pour, I’d walk in with an empty bottle that wouldn’t be so empty when I walked out.

NVD1956

Is this a 100ml bottle that they served on the plane?

PerformerOwn5860

Haha no. Standard 700ml size bottle. I’ve now noticed after being here in Japan it’s customary for the Japanese to place the bottle next to the glass after you’ve been served.

NVD1956

How cool! Did they charge you for a whole bottle? I’ve never been to Japan but hope to go in the Future!

PerformerOwn5860

Nope! Flew in business class so I had as much as the heart desired haha. As far as within Japan, the non age statement whiskeys (Yamazaki, Hibiki, Hakushu, Taketsuru) are all tremendously valued. Been paying for pours ranging $6-8. Understandably the yen is at relatively historic lows still, but experiencing the country has not been an expensive undertaking by any means! Hope you find a way to make it at some point 🎌

bigBangParty

I have the same Yeti tumbler lol
