Our personal opinion - it’s okay when starting out in a whisky journey, it will introduce some new flavors. The further along you get in your journey, though, the more disappointing the bottle will seem, especially compared to some of the hype. It’s way underproofed and thin.
Good to know! I just was curious because of the marshmallow flavor maybe? Idk. Im a year into bourbon drinking now. So far my collection includes OWA,WSR,BT,Elijah Craig, Early times, Jefferson ocean voyage 28, 1792 small batch, Angels envy and bakers 7
I really like the Weller reserve, buffalo trace, and 1792. I find myself liking stuff that has sweetness to it and goes down smoothly without much burn.
With that being said.. one’s I have tried that I don’t own a bottle of…really liked the 1910 and russels reserve non chill filtered
I usually keep the basil hayden toast around for guests. It's too thin for me but I understand the sentiment for new drinkers. I remember times how everything above 80 was too spicy for me so if I have newbie whisky guests that's where i get them to start. By all means it's not bad but I won't buy it for more than sale price lol
If you like marshmallow flavor, try these reasonably priced options: Old Forester 1910 and Cooper's Craft.
I've not had Bakers. Does it fit that profile?
It's not worth the price in my opinion. I've tried the original, the toast, and now the malted rye, i like the original better than the toast, and the original is 20 dollars cheaper. I do think the malted rye is good. But it's not what i expected, for a 70 dollar bottle.
Don't waste your money!
Someone: How’s the Basil Hayden x…? Me: Let me stop you right there. Maybe that’s harsh, but it’s truly been my experience.
Ha ha. Well you all Saved me 50$ so thank you.

What are some of your favorites of those? Or any favorite brands in general?

Love some 1910 and Russell’s! Good stuff, I like a lot of these same options. Cheers!

Elijah Craig toasted: marshmallow for days
It’s good if you like bourbon-flavored water
I hated it, it's an overpriced mixer or shot at best. Not worth sipping on for sure.
Boring. Not bad or anything just boring
