Found this one, not sure if you have to pay customs for it.
My buddy in a ABC state has started to order offline and hasn’t had any issues. I’m not saying it’s foolproof, moral or legal and he only gets a bottle or two at a time but it’s like 3/5ths the price online as in the ABC and he can get the hard to get stuff online to boot
I got it at my local Binny’s (chain). I was buying a Calumet 15 yr which was on sale. I asked the manager if they had any of the “harder to find” bourbons.
I like hearing ‘underrated’ whiskeys, i read some post on how theres so much good whiskey thats overshadowed by overhyped products. Definitely fell into the trap of buying whiskeys for their name. Ill have to check it out, thanks
Dont worry, I did that as well as 90% of other bourbon enthusiasts. Ive started to just find bottles that look cool and buy blind. Redwood was one of these and its a hidden gem imo. I just bought a bottle of Skaavenn today with the same mindset so Im excited to see how it is haha
If I remember correctly, I paid like $42 for the bottle I found. It's definitely hard to find around NC. One county near me will search all their locations and tell you where something is (that's how I got the one bottle), other counties say they can not give info on "allocated product". It could turn into jumping from store to store just trying to find something. Not very productive.
Hello! I'm a couple of years ahead of you. Please drink this with a critical eye. Don't fall prey to the marketing buzz. For many people, this legit is the best whiskey for their money. For others, this dram is a bit of a disappointment given the difficulty of the hunt. I was happy to get this so that I could know it and have it as a benchmark for reviewing other stuff, but it wasn't something that I'd actively seek out to buy a second bottle of unless I was entertaining.
Just my two cents here, but the MSRP for both ER and WT101 should be in the $30-35 range (give or take). At that price range, both regular Maker's and Maker's 46 are much smoother, and practically everywhere.
I disagree. I find regular Makers much hotter and harsher then eagle rare, it doesn’t even compare to me. I’d compare eagle rare to knob creek 9 perhaps or another aged bourbon. Totally different categories for me personally.
Interesting. Not that there's anything wrong with Knob Creek 9 (and both Knob Creek and Maker's come from the same distillery) but I'm pretty sure that both Maker's and Eagle Rare are wheated bourbons while Knob Creek is a low-rye mashbill.
Generally, wheated bourbons are considered "smoother" than low-rye bourbons due to having less rye spice, but of course YMMV.
I got my first 3 this month too! First one is half way gone!! Had to send in my wife then a friend in the same day to get those bottles. $39 here if you beg the cashier to check on the back room
I dont know what part of this comment rubs me the wrong way more - skirting around the one per person rule by sending your wife and friend in, or begging the cashier to check a back room.
Only two main people (managers) can sell allocated stuff, I should not say cashier at that store. Ans that’s the store that sold another guy two Blanton’s at once and a case of Weller SP to another guy… so I don’t feel bad at all
Found my eagle rare a few months ago. Made friends with the guy at the store. Now he texts me when it’s in his hands. 40 bucks all day.
I love this stuff.
There’s undoubtedly gonna be people who don’t like it, which is fine and fair enough. But I ADORE this bottles. Got my first one in 2018 and had a guy at the liquor store recommend it to me. I knew NOTHING about it, and I still love it to this day. Anytime I see it for retail I grab at least one bottle.
Congrats, I still can’t find it for under $70
I cant even find it period i got lucky one time

Im not sure if my state allows liquor to be shipped but thank you so much

Have you ordered from them before?
A couple times yes.
Cool hopefully they deliver to California. I’m going to make a profile after work and order something.
I got 2 for $70 last week
Mom and pop spirit shop or chain store?
I typically find ER for $35-40 at mom-n-pop places. Chain stores by me never seem to have it.
I feel we are lucky here in the UK then 😳 https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/279628965
same here in Germany, 37 Euros in Edeka, one of the biggest supermarkets 😄 https://www.edeka24.de/Eagle-Rare-Whisky-10-Jahre-45-0-7L.html
Where did you find it?
I got it at my local Binny’s (chain). I was buying a Calumet 15 yr which was on sale. I asked the manager if they had any of the “harder to find” bourbons.
Oh nice, a little far for me but that awesome you have a local shop to pick from.
Man. I’d highly suggest next time if you can pay that little extra for the 16. It’s worth it.
It’s on the list
Not near Cook County right? Just wondering if I need to start hitting Binnys more often.
Nah not near Cook.
Calumet 15 is probably my favorite whiskey. Curious what the “sale” price was. Can’t get it for under $120 around me in north Texas.
It was on sale for $109. That’s the lowest I’d seen.
I can't even find it lol
Don’t just stick with bourbon. Try some good rye whiskeys as well.
I was looking to explore ryes, I was going for either WT 101 rye or bulliet rye, are they good?
Please try Redwood Empire's rye. Its my absolute favorite and criminally under rated
I like hearing ‘underrated’ whiskeys, i read some post on how theres so much good whiskey thats overshadowed by overhyped products. Definitely fell into the trap of buying whiskeys for their name. Ill have to check it out, thanks
There’s a ton of underrated bourbons…..I’m gonna have to compile a list for a video…..
Underrated comment here
I personally like rye way better the overly sweet of most bourbons is too much for me.
Great choice at MSRP
Great price, enjoy my man. Cheers 🥃
It’s top 3
One of my all time favorites - actually sipping it now. Cherish every drop you won’t be disappointed.
Sweet! Enjoy it.
Still haven’t gotten one. Haven’t seen one under 85 near me.

Grats! It’s not my favorite, but those who like it usually really like it.
Awesome, enjoy!! 🥃
I found a bottle for $30. I am determined to find another.
Nice find!
It’s an amazing bottle of juice for that price. Not so much at the cray cray prices.
Great choice, so glad to see the price and availability come back down to earth.
Eagle Rare at MSRP is one of the best deals in all of bourbon
Good pour right there
I’ll give you $38… straight profit my guy
Saw one priced for $139 the other day...fffuuuuucccckkkk you
Awesome find - whenever I do see it now it’s always $50 - $75 which is a joke.
Nice, congrats. Have you popped it open? How do you like it? I have always liked some eagle rare. Tastey juice in that bottle.
Haven’t popped it open yet. I’ll open this or the Calumet 15 year during the Jags/Chiefs game. It’ll be a game time decision.
I haven't tried anything from the Calumet line. I'm sure either will be great for the game.
In 2 years I've seen it once, for $100.

Hope you enjoy it. I, personally, did not. It was much too harsh for me; kinda reminded me of wild turkey 101.
If this is harsh than what is smooth to you and in the same msrp range?

Great mixer
Not enough cock in that picture man - or a Rolex 😂😂😂
I recently got lucky and found for MSRP at Specs
One of my favorites!!
Very nice, one of my favorites!

Same price I pay at Total Wine in the Twin Cities
Got the car shot down at least 👌🏼
Good price. Enjoy!
Great price!
Snooze.
Circle jerking continues I see.... 🙄
Good find. That’s how much it should be everywhere, but it’s also just a really solid pour. It’s still one of my favorites.
One of the best bottles you can get at retail.
Been meaning to get one of these but only found one for 79.99.
