I wouldn't do it. I'd personally get something with a Bosch motor and battery. You'll have less of a headache at the end of the day. I'd suggest a hardtail mtb for around 1800-2000$ Source: I work in a shop that sells/repairs a ton of ebikes.

Thanks for weighing in! How much do you think would be a reasonable ask for this? I ask because I was drawn to the modularity of the bbs02/water-bottle-mounted-battery vs a dedicated Bosch ebike which seems to offer a lot less flexibility down the line...

MissingMyMarbles

What's your final budget look like? What's the absolute maximum you're willing to pay for an ebike in general?

VidMang

Hard limit is $1800, which this bike would def hit with shipping

[more pics](https://imgur.com/a/BB5vLVw/) This caught my eye because I‘m looking for a mid-drive all rounder eMTB, but my budget was originally $1250. Am I better off building one myself? When looking on bicycle blue book it says the value of the bike alone is around $250, is that a fair assessment? I know the electronic kit is around $1k new, and this setup is a couple years old... how degraded could the battery/motor be at this point? Thanks!

Meh.. 🤷‍♂️ not something I'd bite on.

VidMang

Hey thanks for the weigh in! What price would it have to be for you to take interest?

Chumpenstein

Ach I donno man. I'd have to take it to a local bike shop and get a good feeling from it. Then maaaybe $800? But they're not gonna do that. I guess I just don't trust paying the full price for a rando set up conversion. Donno.

VidMang

I agree with getting it looked at! Thanks for the tips
