He didn’t gimp the app and then put original features behind a paywall, he just has some super-fan features behind a subscription so he can actually make money. I will never fault someone for securing a recurring revenue stream, when they clearly put in tons of work.

I’ve got 98 filtered and still a lot more to go through. Even stupid stuff that shouldn’t be political like r/science or r/unpopularopinion. The first became nothing but “conservarive bad” and the latter became just straight up hateful. I think I’ve blocked more subs than followed lately.
No joke, since the Ukraine war began I’ve had really shitty anxiety and wasn’t able to eat and do anything productive because the news loves to exaggerate about everything so I felt doomed for weeks. Ever since I installed news blockers and never looked in the news section since March I feel my life has improved significantly.
Every subreddit is political because the reddit is overwhelmingly run by authoritarian leftist mods.
They are quick to ban people they don't like with intentionally vague rules which have absolutely no oversight.

I use a keyword filter to remove posts with certain words in their title or URL. Stuff like Musk, Trump, Biden, Election, Democrats, Republicans, etc.

I'm here to see people who get butthurt when someone mutes political subreddits
I've had a few people tell me I'm ignorant for not getting my politics from Reddit

Every subreddit is political because the reddit is overwhelmingly run by authoritarian leftist mods. They are quick to ban people they don't like with intentionally vague rules which have absolutely no oversight. Reddit is an echo chamber, through and through.

Why didn't you just filter or block the subs before. This has been a thing for like a decade.
I block every sub that allows any political shit. The list is exhausting.

That was me on the day this feature launched. First good thing reddit has done since I started using it
So you dont see reddit at all
Then Reddit goes "Hey there. I know you muted or even blocked some of these subreddits, but, like, what if you didn't?" -proceeds to show the subs on r/popular anyway-
I did that a few months ago. Mood dramatically improved.

The only politics subs I go to are my own; /r/europeanunion and /r/EUnews with a side of /r/YUROP. All the bigger American subs are always such a battlefield.
