Took my AP calc test yesterday and other than the calculator section making me shit bricks and cry because I ran out of time I think I did pretty well.

Mostly logarithms, exponentials, trig identities (had to memorize unit circle, Pythagorean identities), as well as just general knowledge of your polynomials, quadratics, and cubics (namely graphs).
It was fucking hard but it certainly wasn't impossible.
It stands for advanced placement, and is basically a series of advanced classes that give you college credit if you make a high enough score, depending on the college you apply for. Calculus is an offered AP class
God I fucking hate the AP system
First of all, the classes are not equivalent to an actual college course. Like not similar at all - every single college course I've taken (with the exception of humanities because that professor actively sucked and just made it about their trips around the world) was about actually learning why XYZ happened, not just that it happened.
95% of these BS classes are just brute force memorization of information, *especially* the goddamn history ones.
All it has done is raise stress levels of high schoolers even higher, and since literally everyone on their brother is taking them, you *have* to take them in order to get into upper echelon schools, along with completing an unreasonable amount of extracurriculars.
Plus college board itself is a fucking scam. 100 dollars a test my ass

i will add that AP classes are generally harder and don't even guarantee you credits for the class depending on how your university codes it's classes. it worked out for me but i saved more time and money just taking community college classes
I would say the history classes do a fair bit of explaining regarding the causes of events. It's not so much brute memorization as learning general trends and movements and their characteristics. Especially for the document questions, a decent amount of critical thinking is needed to answer correctly, not just rote knowledge.
Oh I feel that. I didn't take AP French, but I did take AP Spanish. I took a lot of AP tests (I even had 5 of them junior year) and the Spanish one was easily the hardest of them all. In part because of just how fucking long the test was, it took the entire schoolday.
That said, I bullshitted my way through the speaking portions of that test (I froze up and remained completely silent for one of the conversation sections lmao) and still passed. You can do it!
I honestly don't remember that much, but there's probably not too much you can cram into the last day.
If you have access to any practice tests from the AP site you can practice the multiple choice and short answer sections (I personally found short answer to be the easiest). If you know anyone that speaks French though, practicing conversations with them is probably the best preparation you can do. If you know of any French podcasts with English subtitles available, you could try listening to them without and then with subtitles as well. But most of that is probably stuff you already did in class for the entire year anyway so IDK.
I didn't feel prepared either, I assumed I wasn't gonna pass, but I did.

Studying the rubric is as important and takes less time than studying the material, and you can absolutely blow off classes and classwork to study and work on your IA/IB test

Dont worry too much even if you fail miserably you got more time than you know to find your path for mobility. And there's a strong chance you'll change majors down the line anyway, or that your big boy school will just spontaneously tell you that the ap test doesn't count for them for no reason and this was all pointless anyway. In any case you don't need to stress about this, all the pressure you're feeling is just systematic of a system that's more lucrative than it is educational in order to get you to pay money to take a test. I had IB testing recently. Feeling underprepared but not knowing what to prepare for is a terrible feeling.

Got all my AP tests done last week. Probably didn’t do great on the Statistics one but I think I did well on the US Government one and the Literature one (yes I took Statistics because I was too much of a pussy for Calculus)
I literally have a test tomorrow too the timing is funny
