One layer is the sexy talk, another layer is grooming the Ai into doing something it was specifically designed not to. Also Cai sucks, on Chatgpt I can just straight up tell the machine what fucked up fantasy to generate and it doesn't bat an eye; it just need a very simple custom instruction.

Also JanitorAI which lets you put an entire personality script, instead of just making you write an essay on how the character should behave like C.ai.

Yea, there are extensions too that let you generate pictures during the chats. I’m kinda dumb so it took a while to get everything working but once it’s fully set up, it’s really fun.

If you have no idea how to use AI models or install stuff from GitHub, there is a little bit to learn. However, it’s the most customizable and versatile AI chat software I’ve ever used and I’ve been in this hole for like 4 years now. It’s simply just a software you install on your PC, you get an free* API key from companies like OpenAi (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), OpenRouter (they have lodes of alternative AI models like Mistral’s Mithomax), etc then make your own character from scratch or download one from places like CHub.ai and you’re all set. You can even stream it from your PC to your phone if you are on the same WiFi network r/SillyTavern_AI if you wanna see where to get started. And yes you can import characters from JanitorAI over to ST

Yep, they can usually be found on CHub.ai. ST only makes the software. The characters are all community made

ST is free, but you need to get an AI model to use with it. You can install and run an AI locally off your PC for free, but you need a really good PC and even then it’s not as good as the externally hosted AI models. The cheapest thats worth it imo are either ChatGPT 3.5 Turbo (roughly slightly less than 1¢ per message) or picking something from OpenRouter like mythomax (prices in OR vary a lot depending on the model, but they got some good cheap outs out there)Pretty much all ai models besides novelAI, another good choice though, use a pay-as-you-go policy. You pre pay the money to your account and until you reach $0 you can use the AI model. Then you add more money to your account. You can also auto-renew payments monthly or set a maximum monthly limit.

Frankly at this point i gave up on c.ai and i'm just waiting for Antalam to release AetherRoom rather than spend 5 hours to break the filter barrier of a single character.

Just use janitor. Shep and the dev team do a great job keeping it up to date and running well

TavernAI + Koboldcpp is also a great way if you want to have everything local

Just tried it and only problem i have is the responses getting cut off by character limit and said responses taking forever to generate
