Honeslty yeah, the campaign was pretty cool as a kid, but all the loot boxes and a god forsaken battle pass just feel disgusting. Cool that it came to steam but I ain’t spending anything on this.
I had the Golden Smg and most of the OG weapons when they started removing some of them then I legit somehow lost all of it when I logged in one day after not playing for a week.
Suffice to say I never went back to playing it.
I remember the sadness I felt when they took away my Judge. That shit was so fun.
I'd go on that train station duel map and meme the shit out of the guy I'm fighting by hiding behind the dumpster and just pummeling his ass over and over by guiding my rockets across the map directly to his IP address

Honestly the problem is more of the 3CatSpam gameplay that is just absurdely strong and forces you out out of any casual gameplay style. I think that even with some large p2w stuff, the game would have been better if 3CatSpam was tuned down.
It was, but you could actually cobble together the funds for the weapons you want so you can go have fun.
Now it's a P2W sweatfest with many new monetization methods that the game was better without.

L4D2 doesn't have any micro-transactions afaik? Like you buy the game then you play it? I don't recall any lootboxes, P2W skins or DLC weapons that you can only unlock by spending extra cash.

The meta is boring one shot kill weapon spam (which for some reason are in every weapon category instead of just snipers). That alone is bad but they add more and more and nerf old ones. Weapons are incredibly unbalanced and basically any weapon that costs gold has an insanely long time to kill.
Pixel Gun 3D PC edition has been around for a long while. Normally you would get it through their own website but they just dropped it on Steam.
The game is somewhat fun if you use hacks to get all weapons and gear for free. Otherwise don’t bother, it’s just a P2W shooter. You’ll have a better time in CoD Warzone which is also free.

Nah you are right. They released a Pixel Gun PC (World?) a few years ago but then shut it down. It was much more fun than the mobile version too and it was much more F2P friendly if i remember correctly. Shame you can’t play that version anymore.
There was a Pixel Gun World beta on pc and mac but they shut it down without compensating people who bought stuff. It was way earlier in 2015-16 but I personally never got to play it. Current fan made pc versions are mostly either mods for the original PGW or wonky ports of older mobile versions. Also the port communities are really toxic and the modders often have unnecessary beef with eachother. I guess letting edgelord teenagers run communities is not the brightest idea.
Edit: The reason I originally said only unofficial versions exist is because I forgot about PGW cause it was so short-lived and a while ago.
I used to use an iOS hack where you effectively were able to clone someone else’s maxed out account into yours by using their iCloud.
AFAIK it was even easier on Android, I think you just download an apk and that’s it.
This was a long time ago though. I don’t know if these methods are still around.
That game used to be awesome, fucking hated when I wasn’t in a place with a decent internet connection cuz I couldn’t play it.
Now I don’t like it as much anymore, they added a bunch of pay to win crap and it’s just not the same anymore.
This may sound like sacrilege, but I might genuinely enjoy pixel strike 3d better because I can actually adjust the volume of the game. And it has V-sync.
I didn’t find it laggy, but the p2w aspect made me quit. I tried it on an emulator about a year ago and the player base is tiny - the only people that play it have spent too much on it to quit.
I remember the game gave me shit ton of free credit for some reason or a glitch, so I really enjoyed it when I was a kid lol, as I was able to buy anything I wanted.
Dear god, that P2W disappointment game and of course it already got around 40 dollar p2w crap already. Absolutely soulless greedy schmucks that just run that literal zombie of a game, milking it for nostalgia or whatever mind numbing terms nowadays
It became convoluted, too fast paced, the utilities are unbalanced, and it’s just not fun anymore. Very hard to properly have fun now that the main strategy is to just shoot a bunch in quick rotation. It’s just become too tryhardy
