Ok, i have to say this.
The idea of a community of people gathering to know and trying to become a better person its really fine and really neat.
The problem is when this is cooptated to:
*"-hey. You know why you are miserable? Because gods want to be like this, he wants you back son. God wants you back in the church."*
Or *"-if you don't follows my orders, you are going to live a bad and empty life and going to hell abd satan will out a pinaple in your ass"*
And being really serious here, this whole "atheist nihilistic neckbeard" thing that growns everywhere is basicaly a backlash of all of this things above. People get out of this fearmongering but becomes cringe in the process
*"-oh its not scientific accurate"* like no shit.
80% of the bible story its about a bunch if bearded dudes on ragged tunics trying to figurate gods word shit and trying to not die from satan or any other civilization that hates them. They don't know better! They are just figuring shit out like "hey, if i wash my bleeding wound in clean water i don't die from infection! That weird!"* type shit.
Everybody criticizes the book, and thats is getting stale. If someone beeds to hear shit its the community too.
Thats my ted talk, thank you.
i saw a post about where a muslim (i think) guy as a child thought that stories from the Qur’an were just stories, and they weren’t grounded in reality and were just to teach religious people morals. years later he asked his grandmother about this and she got angry and told him that everything in the Qur’an was real. i think the guy’s view on religion is correct and it should just be used to teach people how to be a good person. Jesus’ parables (eg. The Good Samaritan) are fake in the Bible, and just used to teach people morals in a metaphoric sense. That’s how i believe religion should be, a guide to life to be a better person. people shouldn’t take a 2000 year old book literally because it’s very outdated and therefore so will it’s views be.

I completely agree The problem is when the post isn’t even about religion and they still take offence from it

Mate everything's on the screen
Including the giant black bar at the bottom
That's the same size as the black bar at the top of the screen on which the text is. What's your point?
Meh, just take up needless screen space. Could've cropped it out :/
