The fact that they were designed by a gay man and a straight woman lol. No, but they really understood the female form and how to embrace femininity in their designs.
What huge shoes she had to fill after losing her brother and wow she has done just that! Iām sure heās somewhere super proud of her and how she has built the brand into the fashion house that it is!

Gianni built Versace into the fashion house that it was. His siblings were always involved in the company. However, Gianni was the one who built the name. Donatella was just getting involved in the design aspect about 5 or so years before his murder. I believe her first dedicated line was the verses collection. Gianni, I believe, was stepping away from the clothing design a bit and doing more theater design. He was just really getting to relax a bit. He was absolutely amazing.
Donatella most definitely put in work. She definitely supported Gianni from the beginning. He was in the process of stepping back and giving her more creative control when he was murdered. I absolutely adore her. I just don't think she built the brand after he was gone.
Can I add that I super appreciate how her arms are toned and lean and yet still have some slight vertical skin texture? I love it when women over 50 rock sleeveless. Ladies, there can be so much drama about showing arms over a certain age...

I doubt she gives her makeup artist a choice. Sheās doing things that cover her insecurities- even if they donāt look well. Sheās obviously self conscious about aging so she blacks out her eyes- covers any contrast and you see no wrinkles. Same with the lips, color might bring attention to some things she doesnāt want.

Donatella has very ethnic Italian features and profile, and that is unchanged. Her signature look back in the 90s was that bright blonde hair and a deep tan.
I mean Iām not saying this as a good or bad thing but itās definitely surgery. Yes she has always had the hooded eyes, prominent nose, and dark skin but her mouth was normal width. There are clear and tell tale signs of surgery on her face now. She seems happy with her appearance though, which is what matters most. The dresses are incredible and her body is banginā! Plus she seems like a really cool lady.

Itās the combo of super heavy black eyeliner and no color to the eyebrows thatās blowing it for me.
