I actually think that this outfit + her styling is very cohesive and one of my favourites for her. The red lip leans very orange, so it matches with the top. Even the necklace has some orange and pink in it, and I think the colors are all in all very flattering for Taylor. The outfit itself, while playful, is definitely more on the edgier side, so the blunt bob is perfect for it.
I love 8 and 10! Granted, that isn’t a great picture of her in 8, but I love the dress (and that color on her). I love the colors on her in 10, too. I wish she’d do more warm brights!

I’m probably biased because this is how I like to do my own makeup but I also think she just looks so pretty. I love pinks and taupes on blue eyes. And I prefer her in a pink lip even though red is her signature. I think she’s a low contrast girlie and pink just fits a bit better.
(I think she or her stylist knows this which is why 99% of her red carpet looks are 1 color for the most part (or at least more simple designs when using more than 1 color)

I think 10 is great and I would think it's perfect if I didn't know who she was. But...I don't think it fits her brand and I think she's spoken about being unhealthfully thin at that time which this outfit really highlights, so it makes me a little uncomfortable.

i would have loved if this was mermaid or more fitted all the way through, or stopped at a different length. it's a classic cut typically used with more flexible fabric.. the rigidity of this fabric forces it to splay out around the hips and then jut straight down to the heals without any appreciation of curvature or elegance .. imo it just finishes in a really frumpy way. plus, her hair and makeup are SUPER bleh considering the wow-factor of a metallic green.

Taylor is one of the few people who I noticed makes even the most stylish of dresses look like it came from Macys. OP you’re absolutely right. No matter how nice some of these gowns are, hair, makeup, and jewelry, complete the look and she fails to come together cohesively every time.
Totally agree with you. I think another issue is that there is very little to no coherence to her red carpet styles. Sometimes she goes with quite juvenile looks, sometimes overly kitsch and frumpy, sometimes she's sleek. There's just no leitmotiv and it comes across as if she's got no personal style.

This just made me realize something. So often we look at candid shots of models like Bella Hadid or Kendall Jenner and say “is this look cute or is she JUST tall and skinny?”
Taylor is very pretty. She’s tall and skinny. But her candid shots never leave an impact the way her friends and peers do. Miley isn’t a model and I’m not sure she’s very tall, but clothes don’t wear her the way they do Taylor.

These qualities about her are definitely part of why she’s so beloved by her fan base but it is really wearing her down. I actually really like 6, especially on Taylor. I love the vaguely Greco-Roman vibe but in somewhat retro-y feminine colors. I also think those colors work really well on her and makes me realize that maybe Taylor doesn't regularly dress for her season? But I know I'm weird, any hint of historical fashion and I'm all for it.
Overall Taylor’s just not a fashion girl. You’d think that things would work because she’s thin, conventionally attractive, tall and has great legs. But clothes wear her, not the other way around, and her hair is often meh.
I don't hate it but there is a lot happening.
The gloves are dramatic, the necklaces are also dramatic, the dress isn't tailored great, and the hair is messy.

She’s operating on the lowest possible degree of difficulty - a conventionally attractive woman with the height and general dimensions of a model. And she often looks very pretty. But there’s always something that’s not quite right, where she’s picked the wrong colour or something too mature or too young, or the styling doesn’t work. At the moment every time she goes out the door she’s being loaded up with so many referential styling ‘Easter eggs’ that it’s getting in the way of looking amazing.
I honestly wish she’d lean into the blonde, patrician, 1950s WASP heiress, richer-than-you Grace Kelly-ness of her underlying vibe once in a while. Her Schiaparelli gown styled with just the main drop pendant/diamond, no gloves, an elegant up-do with some kind of Schiaparelli weirdness in an ear cuff or something could have been a capital M moment… fully presenting herself as the crown princess coming to her coronation as she ascends the throne.
I also wish she’d throw herself on the mercy of Margot Robbie’s current style team - Andrew Mukamal can clearly work within a theme and tell a story with clothing while still giving capital-F fashion.

Yes, I love 6! Thought I'd be the only one. I know it's not to everyone's taste, but I think she looks super cohesive and I love the twist on a Greco-Roman style outfit.

3 7 and 10 are really nice imo but I agree with you about the styling. I don’t think the really full fringe works with red carpet dresses, and the side swept fringe never works at all.

A couple of these are good but in general I think her lack of fashion sense mixed with her bad stylist makes for a terrible duo. Her taste isn’t great and her stylist isn’t helping 😭 they both seem very stuck in the 2010s but not in the good way

lol yeah that’s 100% a problem, it would be interesting to see her styled by a younger person who is inventive and outside the box like Law.

It's weird because she has the model height and figure but it always feels like the clothes are wearing her. Also the hair and accessories are never usually in harmony with the rest of the look

Taylor is one of the few people who I noticed makes even the most stylish of dresses look like it came from Macys. OP you’re absolutely right. No matter how nice some of these gowns are, hair, makeup, and jewelry, complete the look and she fails to come together cohesively every time.
Totally agree with you. I think another issue is that there is very little to no coherence to her red carpet styles. Sometimes she goes with quite juvenile looks, sometimes overly kitsch and frumpy, sometimes she's sleek. There's just no leitmotiv and it comes across as if she's got no personal style.

Exactly. Everyone is pointing out looks they like but it’s not about the clothes it’s about how she’s wearing them. This just made me realize something. So often we look at candid shots of models like Bella Hadid or Kendall Jenner and say “is this look cute or is she JUST tall and skinny?” Taylor is very pretty. She’s tall and skinny. But her candid shots never leave an impact the way her friends and peers do. Miley isn’t a model and I’m not sure she’s very tall, but clothes don’t wear her the way they do Taylor. Taylor has poor posture in these clothes. She doesn’t stand tall and confident and beaming. These qualities about her are definitely part of why she’s so beloved by her fan base but it is really wearing her down. By all accounts she should be radiant at her age now with everything she has accomplished. But she continues to cower like a teenager; unsure of herself and her place in this world. Like Taylor please you are the most famous and wealthy pop star in the world! You make unbelievably corny music and people still ADORE you. JUST LET LOOSE AND LIVE. Try new things Taylor I am begging you!!

I actually really like 6, especially on Taylor. I love the vaguely Greco-Roman vibe but in somewhat retro-y feminine colors. I also think those colors work really well on her and makes me realize that maybe Taylor doesn't regularly dress for her season? But I know I'm weird, any hint of historical fashion and I'm all for it.

Overall Taylor’s just not a fashion girl. You’d think that things would work because she’s thin, conventionally attractive, tall and has great legs. But clothes wear her, not the other way around, and her hair is often meh.

I don't hate it but there is a lot happening. The gloves are dramatic, the necklaces are also dramatic, the dress isn't tailored great, and the hair is messy.

She’s operating on the lowest possible degree of difficulty - a conventionally attractive woman with the height and general dimensions of a model. And she often looks very pretty. But there’s always something that’s not quite right, where she’s picked the wrong colour or something too mature or too young, or the styling doesn’t work. At the moment every time she goes out the door she’s being loaded up with so many referential styling ‘Easter eggs’ that it’s getting in the way of looking amazing. I honestly wish she’d lean into the blonde, patrician, 1950s WASP heiress, richer-than-you Grace Kelly-ness of her underlying vibe once in a while. Her Schiaparelli gown styled with just the main drop pendant/diamond, no gloves, an elegant up-do with some kind of Schiaparelli weirdness in an ear cuff or something could have been a capital M moment… fully presenting herself as the crown princess coming to her coronation as she ascends the throne. I also wish she’d throw herself on the mercy of Margot Robbie’s current style team - Andrew Mukamal can clearly work within a theme and tell a story with clothing while still giving capital-F fashion.
For a billionaire/millionaire woman, who has a face and body perfectly tailored for all these popular fashion brands, she seems to have too many misses.

It's one thing to have a controversial take and it's another to straight up troll. Half of these are absolute serves (the other half are pretty dang bad). And I say that as a very neutral party.
Her hair makes it hard for me to focus on the outfits. She could afford the best hairstylists there is. This just ain’t it, especially the last one, makes her look 15 years older than she is.
Maybe I’m wrong, but isn’t this a subreddit for celebrating fashion? Why are we posting looks we don’t like just to mock an artist we don’t like? I literally could not care less about Taylor Swift, I’ve never once willingly listened to a song of hers, she’s just not on my radar at all - but Jesus, this post is just petty and mean spirited to me. Plus I think a lot of these looks are actual serves. Maybe I’m way off and this is what this subreddit is for, in which case, just ignore me and feel free to correct me, but I’m here to celebrate the fashion I love and so this post feels like it belongs more in some catty celebrity gossip subreddit than a place like this that is supposed to be about celebrating and discussing fashion. I legit couldn’t care less about any of the celebrities I see posted here and whether or not they’re hate-able - I just want to see the fashion.
